Fallenangel Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 What's so strange about that pic? Or do you mean it just revelas how ugly the thing is? I actually see some pretty rare or useful parts there, though. I actually thought it looked kind of cute from that angle... Those hinge bricks in the legs tend to come in pretty useful (such as in an X-wing), as does a Technic gearbox. I also see the large slopes from the 8097 Slave I in dark grey. Quote

Those are the pieces I was eyeing, too. Maybe if TRU has a BOGO sale and there's another set I want or (better yet) if Borders has it with a 40% off coupon, then I'd get it. Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Here's the BL page. It's been used on a few of the newer fire vehicles, such as the fire truck in the most recent fire station as well as the massive offroad fire truck. It's just a new sort of extend-able mechanism, since it's made of the outer piece, on this set in black, and the inner grey piece that can extend out. Thanks Cloney-O. I don't own any of those sets, so that's why I've never seen that piece before. One thing I don't like about BfG is the knees of the cannon walker. It looks like they are attached to the Technic liftarm with one of these 2x2 Plate with Hole , which leads to a few problems. First, the corners of this plate are visable beneath the wedge plates, which always looks terrible, in my opinion. Second, when the pin holding this knee plate loses it's friction (and it will), the knee plate will droop down. I think I might have to MOD this part to alleviate the problems. Quote
Cad Bane Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 2011 Lego sets are available to buy in USA and Canada! They are still not listed anywhere else though. Wonder where Mace's fighter is... Quote

Wonder where Mace's fighter is... We Found in a Lego Catalogue a bit ago that The Battle For Geonosis is a January Release but that the Mace Windu Starfighter is a Spring Release. Quote
Mr Man Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Hmm I like the high res new images, but the cannon is a no from me. Okish figs and a stupid new BARC but nar not really. Nice Luminara Unduli though. As someone pointed out earlier it is very like the 7681 with two BD one SBD, one clone commander, and one other goody (clone, Luminara) and a separatist walker. Quote
GRogall Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Did finally get a High Res image of 7868 Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter! Picture links to 2800 pxl. version. Enjoy! :classic: Quote
prateek Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 (edited) All hail grogall! The tactical droid looks nice, as does the R2. Hopefully this doesn't sell well and gets marked down to $15 at Wal-Mart, much like Ahsoka's JSF The only thing that bugs me about this set is the stickers on the curved pieces And how will the droid be able to sit on the speeder? Edited December 22, 2010 by prateek Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Thanks again for the hi-res pics grogall! So it's confirmed that the tactical droid is based on this one: Quote
commanderneyo Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Thanks For that Grogall. I also have a new Image just of the Tactical Droid Quote
Oky Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Sweet, thanks again Grogall. The tactical droid looks good indeed; very detailed! But it looks like his head wont come off, or be able to turn for that matter. Oh well. how will the droid be able to sit on the speeder? On the first box art that we saw, he was sort of standing in the speeder, with his butt leaning against the headrest. Didn't look very good if you ask me; it would probably look better if you remove his legs before seating him. Quote

He doesn't have his title for nothing. Man, that tactical droid is ugly. Maybe it's just because I don't watch CW, but its head looks really disproportionate. The R2, on the other hand, looks to be of TLGs usual high quality. There were stickers on the very same pieces for the speeder in the Solar Sailor, and they aren't that bad. Quote
CMP Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Thanks For that Grogall. I also have a new Image just of the Tactical Droid *Snip* That just looks like a really bad zoom of the new image... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 That just looks like a really bad zoom of the new image... No, a zoom-in of the new image would be crystal clear. I just tried. That looks like a zoom in of the old, low-res image. Quote

Masked Builder Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Boy that looks good! I'm really lovin' that tactical droid. Quote
GRogall Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 That just looks like a really bad zoom of the new image... Hey! you don't like my pics, don't look at em! Quote

Chewk Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I wonder if Mace Windu's starfighter can break apart like Plo Koon's starfigher into attack mode. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Far as I can tell, it's the right proportions. Then Lucas Animation made it ugly. Not my fault; I can't be expected to know the ins and outs of an obscure, inaccurate thing like CW. I say it's ugly, and this set is a pass for me. Quote

prateek Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 That's what I think as well, unless the grey piece underneath the controls were two of these In Light Bleythen his feet could fit in there and he could be able to sit. There are 2 reasons why that won't work. 1)The 1x2 hinge brick is sitting on it, so if it was actually the piece you linked, the hinge brick wouldn't be attached to the model. 2)The droid's feet are exactly 2-wide, so if it was the piece you linked, the feet won't fit inside. They should have just used the normal droid legs, then he could sit the way the pilot does in the MTT. Quote
Delta 38 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Thanks for the new images! The Battle for Geonosis is still okay since it has Luminara and Rex. The proton cannon thing still doesn't look quite right, though... it's probably just me. The tactical droid looks great, but I think the head is too small (even though this is probably more proportionally accurate). The Astromech is great, but it seems to be lacking in printing. Finally, the starfighter still reminds me of a computer-generated image because it's so plain. It's a bit ironic that I'm complaining after good images surface, but there are some good things I didn't notice. The starfighter's three parts are more covered, for example. It might distort the shape further, but at least the gaps are less noticeable. Quote
