I agree, there is that danger of the commando helmet being oversized (remember this?), considering the real commando helmet is slightly stubbier/more box-like compared to regular clone trooper helmet.

That wasn't really oversised, IMO.

But really, we're not even sure if we're getting a commando, or Vos. Although I'm not really trusting anyone right now, Jedi News has been more reliable in the past. And Jedi News didn't have Vos or the commando. As much as I want a commando, it's unlikely. I'm really wanting prelim imajes...

Sadly I have to admit, the Clone Trooper Commando is just a green marked normal trooper, probably LEGO wanted to pepper up the name instead of calling him 1337th Company Clone or whatever he is part of. Also, we do get four figs (woooooohoooo) with two Bomb Squads for the clones and a fourth Mando, sadly no sign of Pre Viszla.

And to finally confirm everything: Pictures! http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/showthread.php?t=20804 (Scroll down and click on the small images to enlarge)

fantastic, thankyou!

All of these sets look fantastic, and it looks like we're getting a new scoped pistol mold, too. I know, not exactly the most magnificent thing about these pics but still. I like pistols. Thankyou!

YES!! Clear pictures. Those minifigures and sets look great. Here are my thoughts-

The Shuttle- This looks like a great set. It seems the right size and the minifigures are great. The Saesee Tiin is great and Shaak Ti will make this set a must have :cry_happy:

Bounty Hunter Ship- Really good and I love that colour. All the minifigures look great and it should make for a worthwhile buy.

V-Wing- Excellent. I am getting two or three of these. A new coloured silver droid and new pilot. The design of the ship looks the exact same however.

Battle of Naboo- Not a let down at all. The droid carrier looks nice and sleek. The printed heads of the gungans is a nice touch and the printed shoulders of the pilot droid is much more realistic.

Mando Battlepack- I was already excited about this and now I am convinced to pick up about 5 of these. The figures look great and perfect for a custom Jango.

Clone Battlepack- Very good. The printing on the bomb trooper is nicely done and the Arf trooper helmet is a win  . The commando is a bit of a disappointment but it still looks good.

All in all not as bad as first thought. The first wave of sets all have great reasons to pick them all up and will offer some great new figures. I am really impressed with lego at not sticking in some old minifigure instead of new ones and the designs of the ships are really great.

This wave is going to cost me (and I am sure many other) an Arm and a Leg :classic:.

Thanks for the pictures

An interesting point to note on these images is that:

On the box design of the bounty hunter gunship it shows us getting Sugi. However in the minifigs shown above the boxes, it looks like we get Cad Bane's assistant who can morph (from Episode 1 Season 2 of TCW)

The same happens in the Jedi shuttle, with Anakin shown on the box, but Vos shown above!

The clone commander in the battle pack is Eeth Koth's clone commander from Episode 9 of Season 2 of TCW!

I think Seasee Tiin and Shaak Ti may improve as some of the molds on the figs look unfinished (including other sets) but looking at all this, it looks like we are about to enter the best year of Lego star wars ever!!! :cry_happy:

(My wallet is bleeding)

Thanks for reading,

Hot damn, prelim pics! The T-6 Shuttle looks like it could be good, but the Naboo is a let down. Just a bid droid carrier with gungans. :hmpf_bad: The BPs are ok, but it's stupid that they give us 2 'bomb squad troopers'. Might not be getting that. And the V-Wing and Bounty hunter ship don't interest me at all.

The figs look amazing! It's really the highlight of this wave and I'm glad to see there are no bad "action figures" like Greivous/Boba.

EDIT: Is that a new pistol mold I see? :oh3:

Those action figure minifigures were a bit stupid but don't forget the Mandos are the exact same as the Boba design except the lack of jetpack.

That new pistol looks really good and I will be making use of it in the future :sweet:

Well, that does it. Scratch the ARF for me. Totally CW. I'd been hoping it would be closer to the Ep. 3 ones, what with the Phase 1.5 clones and all. I'm happy to see the printed Jar-Jar, but on the other hand the V-wing is pathetic.

Is there a reason we aren't embedding the images?

I love the new sets and the prices seem reasonable so far.

The clones and mandalorians are great as well.

The only problem(s) I have is:

1) Saesee's face is a clone's face which looks wierd.

2) Shaak Ti's head is too tall.

3) Vos' face is non clone wars which doesn't fit with other characters (Though it could be a good thing for some)

4) Aurra's face is ventress' head with out the markings.

5) The Gungan warrior's cloth is undecorated.

Sorry to be so critical.

Wow! These are great! It looks like we're getting 2 Bomb Squad Troopers, and the ARF helmet is so cool! I like Vos and Shaak Ti, but Saesee Tiin just looks like a clone trooper with a furry hat from Siberia :sceptic::tongue: The bounty hunters are perfect too.

It looks like the BP vehicle predictions were spot on! (That bike thingy for the Mandos and a BARC Speeder thingy for the clones)

Is there a reason we aren't embedding the images?

I dunno, but since these belong to Navy Trooper Fenson, I think it's best to let him upload them :classic:

BTW, why does Obi Kenobi have a green light sabre?

Prelims.

Remember Plo-Clone-Ackbar?

And Hoth Leia-Ohnaka?

Preliminary pictures. True, they aren't watermarked, but they are still prelims.

Good info guys. Way to scavenge anywhere and everywhere. This is very similar to a lot of the information I have found.

Oh yes!!! Great prelim pics, now I am really excited about these sets! Thanks for sharing this Navy Trooper Fenson, always the reliable trooper! :wink:The T-6 shuttle looks pretty decent, but what I'm after for are the figs - those 3 new jedi + 1 old are sweet and must0haves! Can't wait to grab 'em all. Gotta love those BPs as well, I'm pretty happy with the Clone Trooper BP - four specialized troopers without regular ones, really nice. Now to have a closer look before commenting more.

Hey

I wasn't around the "Plo-Clone-Ackbar" era but I'm loving the "same answers"

What a relief. :sweet:

"I'm a conformist!"

Oh and almost forgot, Navy Trooper Fenson, thank you for the Preliminary pics.

These sets are amazing ! I want them all! I am so excited for all of the new minifigures. Usually, the sets with the really cool minifigures are kind of boring or ones that I already have, and the model and the minifigs are the best. I can't wait!

Well, that does it. Scratch the ARF for me. Totally CW. I'd been hoping it would be closer to the Ep. 3 ones, what with the Phase 1.5 clones and all.

I for one quite expected the ARFs to be CW, since they've regularly appeared in the series - and kids and most fans are more familiar with these 'newer' ARF troopers than the Ep.3 ones. So I'm happy, my Lightning Squadron will finally have the official ARF troopers. :classic: How I wonder if there are special markings on the helmet? Or are they just plain white? I'd want it to be all-white since it'll be better fit for customising with special prints or even for camouflaged types

...but on the other hand the V-wing is pathetic.

We'll still have to wait for the hi-res pics, but since you've already 'perfected' the V-Wing with your version, I know the official one will not be as good as yours, but let's give it a chance.

Me too, I don't think there has ever been a year where there a lot of new MFs - and very cool ones at that. IMO, 2011 will be a much much better year than 2010. I've only bought two sets this year (ARC-170 and Luke's Landspeeder), but next year I might have to buy almost all of them (Ouch!)

TLG do seem to have concentrated on making loads of new minifigures this year. Maybe they finally gave into demands from fans to make more? I am really pleased with this lineup and will be getting most of them. Hopefully, the second wave will be as great as this wave :classic:

For the nth time, they are prelim pics, some of my comments in blue.

1) Saesee's face is a clone's face which looks wierd.

I was kinda hoping for the rubbery head mold ala-Fisto/Plo, but they went with the detachable headgear like Aayla/Ahsoka.

2) Shaak Ti's head is too tall.

It is supposed to be tall (the Togruta headgear that is). Hers is almost twice as long as Ahsoka's headgear, so the Shaak MF will really be a 'tall' figure.

3) Vos' face is non clone wars which doesn't fit with other characters (Though it could be a good thing for some)

That's good, TLG's designers must have been really hearing the anti-CW face sentiments, so they toned it down a bit to Barriss-Offee-ish type.

Sorry to be so critical.

Wow! We usually don't get such good pictures so soon!

These pics look cool, but some of the pictures even of the figures look prelim. Here's my thoughts why:

Jar Jar has the exact same torso print that he had last time he came out. LEGO just wouldn't do that, they'd come out with a more detailed one.

The figures in the shuttle seem very weird to me, and mismatched. Saesee Tiin has a Clone Trooper face. I guess it's possible LEGO would do that, since it sort of works, but that just seems weird. Tiin also has an old style torso, like the PT Mace robes and the original Jedi robes, not the CW style. Both Shaak Ti and Quinlan Vos do not have the signature Clone Wars eyes. That just doesn't make sense. It made enough sense for Bariss not too I suppose, since she came in an arguably PT set with a EpIII Clone and not a CW one, but why would LEGO make a set with two CW looking characters and two non-CW looking characters? I just don't get it. Quinlan Vos's torso looks like the old Luke Skywalker one just with some extra minor detail. LEGO hasn't put out a SW torso that simplistic in years. And, finally, Obi-Wan has a green lightsaber, but I guess that could just be a silly mistake.

Still, the sets are looking good and this at least confirms the figures even if they aren't finished. Those Battle Packs are to die for. It seems like there isn't a single normal Clone Trooper in the Clone one, since the fourth one pictured on the box also looks orange-ish. The Mando looks exactly like Jango too.

From the line-up, it looks like they have been listening, and heeded, to fans' MF demands. But let's not take away the effort in design of the ships as well, we'll judge them better when some hi-res pics surface.

One thing that bothers me, a lot of these 'newer' characters (Aurra, Embo, Vos, Shaak) made it as minifigs even if they just appeared in a couple of episodes, as opposed to regulars like Luminara, Ki-Adi(!), Padme(!!!), etc. It's either TLG has 'gripes' about them, or we'll be getting them soon in the 2011 second wave. (fingers-crossed)

It's not that mine is probably better. I know LEGO won't do one UCS, and I never intended to purchase it in the first place. However, It's really not that much better than the original V-wing, which itself was almost as bad as the original Sith Infiltrator.

I did see blue markings on the ARF, by the way.
