That sure is a strange speederbike, I doubt anything with legs, even a regular minifigure couldn't fit in there(Unless you rip the back of the seat out of course). It's really strange in my opinion making a vehicle that doesn't fit a minifigure.

and yikes, so many stickers on this set, I wonder if there even is a printed brick amongst them. Can't see this set becoming a good seller (not for it's vehicles of course) but I do hope someone will get this soon and sway my thoughts about it with a mind-crushing review. Cause it's really not looking so great at the moment.

and not to forget, thanks for another great high resolution picture Grogall.

The Astromech is great, but it seems to be lacking in printing. Finally, the starfighter still reminds me of a computer-generated image because it's so plain.

It's a bit ironic that I'm complaining after good images surface, but there are some good things I didn't notice. The starfighter's three parts are more covered, for example. It might distort the shape further, but at least the gaps are less noticeable.

I thought the astromech print was just fine, but when you mentioned the lack of printing I tried to zoom in the photo, and it does look like the rectangular outlines in the droid body, which are typical of previous astromech figs, are missing. I do hope this is just a misprint and the final version will have these outlines.

Well, it's not a first. The spot for the pilot in Dooku's Solar Sailer really wasn't quite right for the droid, leaving it in an awkward standing/bent over position. Now, the boxart for Mace's JSF set does show the Tactical Droid sitting comfortably, so perhaps it truly will be able to. On the other hand, LEGO does do some Photoshopping sometimes to make things better than they really are, like the new Grievous holding all of his lightsabers upright, so I also wouldn't be surprised if the Tactical Droid ends up in a very awkward position to drive the speeder.

Actually, after a closer look at the blurry box pic it seems that even LEGO isn't trying to fake that the Tactical Droid can sit down well. In the pic, it seems to be almost standing up. That's not a very good design, although the vacant speeder looks great!

Grogall does it again!

The set still looks decent. But I do love the new astromech! The colour scheme is really nice and the gold may make it good for custom droids. Though the body may be a misprint but either way it still looks nice. The blue SBD legs are a good choice for the tactical droid. The head does look like its part of the body which may not be so good for you customizers. The speeder looks really nice but I do wonder who it is actually for, because the tactical droid and the BD both cant fit in there. :sceptic: Though it is designed really well and would look good placed by dooku's speeder.

Are the STAPs the same as the last version? Something seems off about them...

And can anyone identify what episodes the tactical droid came from?

When I read your post I couldn't be sure if you were talking about the speeder that is the subject material for the one in 7868 or not because the general design has been around for a while and is even officially cannon... plus it's been featured in two previous sets as well; 7103 in 2002 & 7752 (2009). I thought all shock over the initial design would've diminished by now... > O ah, but even as I type this I'm leaning more to the consensus that you were just commenting on the somewhat awkward design interpretation in the set in question, and I whole heartedly agree that in that aspect it is indeed a bit awkward. However, it looks as tho Mace might fit, if a bit snuggly, into the speeder... and I'm sure it would take minimal modifying to allow the Tactical Droid to sit in a nice relaxed position.

Anywhat. I'm getting more used to the color combination on Mace's new Delta... mostly thanks to grogall's high resolution pic. > <

Design wise? No. But there are a few slight color alterations from what I can see... use this as a reference.

And you can find the answer to your second question here, just scroll down to "Apperances".

They're huge. They're way too tall and the wings are twice as wide as they should be.

KDM says it's from the Ryloth series.

But what's the point of Mace fitting? He's a got a Starfighter; LEGO doesn't put out sets with two vehicles for a single figure. No, the the speeder is supposed to be for the Tactical Droid, and if it truly can't fit very well, that's a big design flaw.

I never said it wasn't...

I agree once again entirely that it is not a good design for the fig it was intended for, but LEGO is a kids toy and I was just thinking that if a younger kid were to play with it at some point Mace would find himself piloting the Flitknot. It's not much consolation for any AFOL and probably a lot of kids as well, but it's something, which is better then nothing. Heck tho, I never even said that I was sure if Mace will fit, I was just saying he might. Twas merely speculating. [:

Season 1 Episode 20 - Innocents of Ryloth. You made me re-watch the episode just to confirm this.

The tactical droid was specifically named Commander TX-20. Though I think it would just be named as a generic tactical droid in the set.

And a bit of comic-relief with this episode featuring this tactical droid:

From the Innocents of Ryloth episode guide @ starwars.com

At one point, the display screen at the Separatist command center reads, in Aurebesh letters, "COMIC RELIEF."illo.jpg

Sorry if it was a bit off-topic, just wanted to share that.

You could have just looked at my post (which itself references your previous one on the matter) instead of going through all that trouble. We trust you to get it right without watching it, seeing as you're our CW screenshot expert. Right, guys?

Guys? Girls?

No, a zoom-in of the new image would be crystal clear. I just tried. That looks like a zoom in of the old, low-res image. :hmpf_bad:

I found that image on Brickipedia so its not my doing that its poor quality

EDIT: Heres a image of Luminara and it's Good quality this time :classic:

And TLG apparently 'shopped out the bottoms of the stands. :sceptic:

I know the old one had a sticker on the front, but other than that (and I can't see the front of this one to be sure) I don't spot any differences.

Great pics indeed. It's nice to see what they actually look like now and I have to say I'm liking them a lot more than before. Mace's JSF set looks pretty decent with all the droids and the SF itself isn't that bad at all! I reckon the speeder bike also looks good but of course WAY too fat, unfortunately unavoidable (unless TLG brings in a new piece which fits like a bicycle frame between the legs... ). However, the Proton Cannon still looks hideous, although I don't mind the screenshot pic from wookiepedia. Sometimes I think TLG just puts really unflattering pics on the box... Although it does have great parts and figs (and lots of droids also :sceptic: ).

Any ideas when the next wave of prelims will be out? I can't wait!!

I have found a pic that could possibly be the frigate, linked to in the Kingdoms thread. Look on the left of the pic. See that grey thing on a black space background that looks a lot like the red Republic Cruiser from several years ago? Maybe I'm stretching it, and that's not SW at all, but it sort of looks like it to me...

Finally! That's the Consular frigate all right. Told you so

There should be more pics from that catalogue, right? Who took this picture?

From looking at the Guys Flickr account he is only a fan of the "Kingdoms" theme and did not take any images from the Other Themes :sadnew:

I think i've been telling everyone it would be a Consular :hmpf:

Well at least its one thing the J word Guy got right

About half of the people writing in this topic told everyone it would be a Consular ;)

Anyway, obviously the new catalogue exists, so I guess it won't take too long until we get prelim pics of all the sets.

It's nice to finally see some photo, no matter how small it is, confirming this Consular Frigate set. So I would assume this will be an updated version of the previous red one? Do we have any rumors of the possible minifigs included?
