LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Well, here are my thoughts about the sets...

The Podracers contain at least one Jedi (maybe Obi-Wan as he has a blue lightsaber). It would have been nice if there was a Tusken in the set, because I remember there was one scene with them in it. The Sith Infiltrator seems to have Padme in it (who else would be wearing blue?) and someone else, hopefully Qui-Gon. Finally, the Dathomir speeder has the word "new" next to the minifigs, so I'm guessing that most, if not all, will be new minifigs.

I'm not sure about the other sets, but I see the word "starfighter", so it's probably the Geonosian starfighter. The set pictured doesn't look a lot like it though. The small set on the top looks vaguely like the Ewok set. Anyway, nice find. The rumoured sets listed on Brickset might be interesting, though I think we've had enough of Hoth. A Naboo starfighter would be great, though, particularly with the sudden switch to the first movie with the Podracers and Sith Interceptor.

Seriously how many Hoth Echo Base's do we need in Recent Years. The Naboo Fighter is a good set to make but seriously that means another decent PT or CW set wasted for another Lame Hoth Echo Base set and most ones aren't even of the Base themself

You haven't even seen it, how can you call it "lame"? I'm sure it will be more of a base this time. Atleast better than another CW set, anyways, that's for sure.

I wonder what they could put into the advent calendar. Mini/micro models? New minifigs? Perhaps. That Naboo fighter would be the fourth re-release (re-re-re-release, in this case) of the N-1 starfighter - if it turns out to be that one.

Agreed. I'll take any of the previous 'lame' Hoth sets over yet another CW TV show vehicle any day. Yes, there are lots of CW fans, and I mean no disrespect to them, but we OT guys do exist, and seriously, how many CW sets do you want? There are a bunch of CW sets that I wouldn't call decent even if I were a CW fan. Please don't turn this into a debate, you can PM me if you want to discuss it further. (discuss, not argue without reason)

I wouldn't count the UCS N-1 as a rerelease, since it was in a different line than the others, which are System models.

I guess they are releasing a few PM sets because of the re-release of the movie in a bit..

The Other Sets

From what I can make out, the podracers do seem to be slight improvements over the first versions, especially Sebulba's, and the set seems to come with a new Watto and young Greedo. The Sith Infiltrator also looks better. It looks like the Danthomir Speeder comes with Assajj, Anakin, and what I believe to be Savage Oppress. The frigate also looks good, but the MF looks like just a slight update from the last minifig-scale version.

I have a feeling that we will all be pleasantly surprised when we see decent pictures of the MF, it may look like the same ship now because of the cockpit, and the overall shape, but keep in mind that we really can't see dimensions or bricks or interior until later.

I get the feeling that a lot of the people predicting a new Padme fig in the Sith Infiltrator set are going to be sorely disappointed. We'll see, but I won't get my hopes up until I see a non-blurry, non-prelim pic that has her in it. I don't think it's gonna happen.

Good amount of sets for the PT/OT fans though, no complaints here. It's hard to tell if the Falcon is ANH or ESB. It looks like there's an elderly Obi-wan though. If that's the case and the other figs are Luke, Han and Chewie that would mean there's no R2 or 3PO. Kind of odd. But who knows the figures could be completely overhauled by the time the set is actually released. I'm looking forward to seeing better pictures!

sith influtrater: huge, darth maul new head mold, qui-gon, padma, panka

million falcon: darth vader, han solo, chewie, luke, leia, obi wan

frigate: yoda vos, a new jedi whose name i do not know, two different clone troupers.

In the MF, we get Vader, Chewie, Han Solo, Luke, Obi-Wan, and Leia. I wanted droids...

In the Frigate, there are 2 clones, one with ARC gear, Agen Kolar (?), Quinlan Vos, and Yoda.

In Ewok Attack, we get a Scout Trooper, a tan Ewok (I think his name is Chief Chirpa?), and a black or dark brown Ewok.

In Dathomir Speeder, we get Asajj, Savage Oppress with horns (I think), and Anakin.

In the Geonosian Fighter we get Ki-Adi Mundi (!!!), a clone, and some long necked blueish-green guy.

In the Podrace, we get Obi-Wan, Anakin (with a new headpiece I think), a new Sebula, the Rodian kid, and Watto.

In the Sith Infiltrator we get Maul, Qui-Gonn, Padme (!!!), and Captain Typho.

All in all, another awesome wave minifig wise.

Savage is defiantly in the Dathomir speeder. In mean what else could a yellow blob battling a brown haired Jedi be? It defiantly looks like Ventress, Anakin, and Savage. For the Podracers, I can make out Sebulba, Little Ani, Ani's rodian friend, Jedi (Obi or Qui not sure as lightsaber color means nothing, remember Plo's prelims? He had a green lightsaber) and a blue blob (presumable Watto). Can't make out the Geonosis fighter or Ewok attack sets, but the Sith infiltrator has only 3 figures. Maul, Jedi (most likely Qui), and a blue blob with funny hair which has a high probability of being Padme (in that scene in the movie she wears a blue outfit).

What's the point of another Sith Infiltrator? It's not like it's a very iconic ship or anything.

The chance to finally release an updated Padme, of course! Any set just to have a new Padme is fine with me, even if it is the un-iconic Sith Infiltrator. Only downside is, Padme might be in the boring servant outfit. I hope it'll be a Queen Amidala or any of her Senator attires.

Maybe this would also be the perfect chance for TLG to improve the Darth Maul fig? Real unprinted Zabrak horns anyone? This is quite a possibility considering the speculation of a Savage fig in the Dathomiri speeder.

opress looks awful, but these are prelims. Cant wait for the geonosian starfighter, the frigate looks good, I was right! It's white not grey! The figs look great as well, in all the 2011 sets, lego's finally starting to monopolize on the fact that figures are we buy some sets most of the time, it's a win win situation. That clone looks like cody, which is great! We are staring to see figs that came in more expensive sets pop up in cheaper ones(rex and cody are two I'm reffering to) Which is great if you missed the RAG Bad if you are a re-seller

Wow, thanks for the new clearer pics r4-g9! Now I could clearly see most of the figs. So I was right, the Savage fig has realistic unprinted Zabrak horns! But why didn't they put those horns to Maul in the SI set?! BTW, Maul's speeder looks

And Ki-Adi + Cody + Geonosian in a relatively small set, Vos + Eeth Koth in the frigate! I'm lovin' 2011 just for the great minifigs alone!

I agree that Endor should start up, but Hoth is better than another CW set, IMO.

I see I was right about the flick-fires in the frigate. There are the two exclusive new 'figs, but I don't think I'm getting this.

Ewok Attack is definitely not looking as good as I had hoped, but the tan Ewok will go well in my collection.

Ki-adi has that molded head, not too happy about that, but since it's included with the Geonosians I suppose I'll be getting him.

Watto! The pods are a must-buy, even though I'm an OT fan!

Why, oh why did TLG put Padme and Panaka in the Infiltrator? I'm not buying that, but I want them!

The Falcon is looking good, they fixed the mandibles this time around, but without any exclusive figures it's now down the maybes list.

My wallet's gonna hurt this wave, mostly 'cause of the host of Ep. 1 'figs that I missed the first time around. I might actually have to skip the Falcon.

Just noticed that the Dathomir Speeder and the Ewok Attack have the same dimensions. Tha means it should be a really cheap way to get a nice Savage and an Asajj for people who missed out on the RGS. But the speeder looks ugly. Kinda disappointed for the Ewok attack, looks like another gian catapult and speeder bike , but Ki-Adi-mundi in the genosian starfighter is cool! I think the long necked thing might just be an akward looking genosian, and If it isn't im mad, two genosian sets this year, and no genosian. Catain Panaka is cool in the Infiltrator, lets hope for horns on Zabraks, cause theres like three of them this wave if that fig in the frigate turns out to be Agen!

In this day and age of highly-accurate minifigs, it is not surprising and just appropriate that they went with the more realistic head mold. I personally like it, and I would assume most fans also. TLG giving us all of these wonderful figs is already a great service to all of us, so I'm not complaining.

TLG giving us all of these wonderful figs is already a great service to all of us, so I'm not complaining.

But I do agree with you that this will be an expensive year for SW purchases, and basing on this 2nd wave, one who has limited resources should really plan well. For me, the only set that I might be getting are the MF and the Geonosian Fighter. The rest I'll just purchase the minifigs that I'm interested with (Savage, Padme, Vos, Eeth Koth/Agen Kolar).

I agree. I've gone over the lists, and I think that since the MF is $150 with no exclusive 'figs, I'm going to have think backwards and get the PT sets. I can do Ewok Attack to satisfy my OT nature, then Geonosian Fighter for Geonosian (and I'll get Ki-adi as a bonus), pods for Watto and Greedo (whom I'll mod to his younger OT relative), and then having knocked the MF off the list, I could probably get the Infiltrator for Padme and Panaka. With no magnet sets this year, though, I may seriously consider keychains as an option.
