StoutFiles Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 After seeing the better pics I am severely disappointed with the Ewok set. Upgrades are not always getting better it seems (AT-AT as well). Compared to other OT 26€ sets (Landspeeder and Echo Base) it's really not that much. A new Ewok, a Rebel, Luke, Stormie and Scoutie with a speeder bike and a nice tree would have been it. Not this... thing. A rebel would be nice. I've given up on Stormtroopers in these sets; I figure that TLG thinks that Stormtroopers can be acquired in other sets, and Endor sets are their only way to deal out Scout troopers. As for rebel Luke, unless the set is about the speeder bike chase, the Ewok capture, or the much needed Ewok village we will never see him. I'm happy we're getting a black Ewok and I like they're at least attempting a different trap then the standard catapult which failed miserably in the movie. This as a standalone set is pretty bad, it needs to be added to the Battle of Endor set. As for the AT-AT, if anyone would bother to look at the model used in the movie, this is the most accurate AT-AT TLG has made so far. The AT-AT is supposed to have a hump, and the head is the best one they've made by far. Quote
brickbuilder Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I kinda like the Ewok Attack set. It looks like more of a 'scene' set than a 'vehicle' set. I already have all the main characters from the battle of endor set (except Luke of course), and you can never have enough ewoks. 100th post by the way Quote
Supersonic Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Remember Greg Hyland's pic? EDIT: On the desk pic of his, I found Yoda and a clonetrooper with red markings. Either that or it's Commander Cody with orange markings. Looks like he was right, as those two sets were obviously the Frigate and the Geonosian Starfighter (which some had already guessed). Just thought it's funny that we were actually right Quote

I would have to disagree; IMO the proportions (height compared to length) of the 2004 walker are more accurate than those of the 2010 one. On-topic: for the Endor set, I understand the missing Stormies. I onece listened to a radio talk show where the host mentioned 'Death Star Stormtroopers, Hoth Stormtroopers, and Endor Stormtroopers'. In the eyes of those who aren't geeks like us, the Scout was the primary trooper deployed on Endor. Quote

Personally, as much as this set is lacking, for a 25 dollar set it's pretty good. Two new ewoks, some traps, and a bike. Yes, I would've loved a jacket Han, endor Luke, ect. in the set, but that's likely to come in a year or two. Quote
commanderneyo Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) Here is a Video with Better Images of the Sets (Though the guy has got some of the figures listed wrong like Kitster instead of Wald ) Edited December 27, 2010 by commanderneyo Quote
Delta 38 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Hmm, I should have gotten the Battle of Endor set while I had the chance. I thought they were going to be cheap and include already existing minifigures, but unfortunately (for me) not. If the bunker was released by itself, I would have bought it. Too late now, I guess. Some minifigures should be added, at least. The Hoth set with the turret and cover came with five minifigs (Han, two Snowtroopers and two Rebels), but there are only three present in the Ewok set. It doesn't really seem right to me. Another Ewok and a Rebel or Scout trooper would help elevate the set. I hope Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon have their hair included in their sets, particularly Qui-Gon. Maybe we'll see new hairpieces for both. Obi-Wan could do with a braid on his hairpiece instead of the generic hair we normally get. Also, the Clone Wars sets probably need some more Clones included, because after I get the Clone battle pack I'm going to need many more standard Clones. Quote
Masked Builder Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Here is a Video with Better Images of the Sets (Though the guy has got some of the figures listed wrong like Kitster instead of Wald ) A nice way to see the pictures but they're pretty blurry. Quote
Baylego Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 The sets look great! The process are ok, but. I don't expect great price with Star Wars. $80 for the podracers sounds crazy, but I will have to see the piece count before accurately judging the price. The only one I don't like is the sloppy Dathomir Speeder. Quote
General Magma Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) Smartwii has new pictures up on Flickr - they're much more clear than the first batch's pictures, and you can see details on figures like Watto, Sebulba, etc. Unfortunately, he didn't do a close-up of the Ewok Attack set. Maybe he'll do that soon, aswell, since he's adding new pics frequently. EDIT: I just looked up Reference Pictures on Wookiepedia and the Images of the Frigate has markings that Resembles the Wolfpack Troopers so I was right. prateek Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 The Sith Infiltrator is the best one yet! The Pod Racers look cooler and cooler every time I see them, but the small model to the side is lacklustre (a tan plate and a crate?) Quote

You could be right about Wolffe, but I wouldn't start making up what a plain white clonetrooper could become. Anybody else noticed that the clonetrooper is holding something white in his left (right for us) hand? I wonder what it could be. ~ General Magma Quote

I don't see any dark gray there, other than a bit on the arms. Maybe it's just some blur, but I guess not. You could be right about it not being plain, but you already make conclusions about it being Comet. I have been seeing some spots of gray on the arms for some time, though. Perhaps somebody will be able to enhance/find out more about these images. Making assumptions on a prelim pic, and a tiny, barely read-able font is only a good idea if you want to make a fool of yourself. Quote
JimBee Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I know these are still prelim, but... Ki Adi Mundi! Finally! The Geonosian speeder is a must have for me. I also like how we're getting so many Jedi now. The Republic Frigate rounds it out with Quinlan Vos and Eeth Koth. I don't think there's any other Jedi from the films that still needs to be Lego-fied. Quote
BrickArtist Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 (edited) Qui-gons hair-piece is in the infiltrator! Yay! The probe droids are black heads with levers on them, which makes me and . Panaka looks fantastic! The infiltrator is inching closer to my list. I did notice a con though, padme didn't get a new torso. It's just the one from the republic cruisers pilot, but in the minigigures box it's a different one weird. Edited December 27, 2010 by brickartist Quote

autobrick Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 The second wave of Star Wars looks great; much better than the first wave! 7956 Ewok Attack A bit small, but it looks like a good add-on for those who already have 8038 Battle of Endor. I will need a closer look. 7957 Dathomir Speeder I don't even know what this is, and it looks weird. Pass. 7959 Geonosian Starfighter Ki-Adi-Mundi and a Geonoian make this a potential buy. However, I don't like the design of Geonosian ships in general; I would have preferred a Geonosian ground battle. 7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator I like the minifigures, but the actual Infiltrator itself is not something I am interested in owning. Possible buy. 7962 Anakin & Sebulba's Podracers I never really cared for podracing, but the design and the minifigures put this in the maybe category. I also own 7131 Anakin's Podracer (or used to own it, I can't find it ) and would love to see them side by side. 7964 Republic Frigate I will have to see how it compares with the 7665 Republic Cruiser. I will buy the better one. 7965 Millenium Falcon I missed out on the previous ones, so this is a definite buy. I find it strange they included Darth Vader. Out of the first wave, I am only interested in 1 out of 8 (Battle of Naboo). However, out of the second wave I am potentially interested in buying 6 out of 7. I can't wait! Quote

I used my zoom, the pics are still fuzzy. I brought them up on my tv internet, to see them even larger, zoomed in, and nothing. The grey is probably just low quality photography. I did notice something though I 'think' (keyword), that the t-visors are made less wide on these clones. They did this in the battle packs, and it makes the clones more accurate. It also makes them resemble the AOTC sets. Quote
