Brickdoctor Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 OR, it could be a preliminary picture, and we will get a photo with a properly printed torso and helmet when the official wave pictures come out (in May?). So it could be anyone at this point, and could change before the set is released. Look what happened with Quinlan Vos. We should be seeing pics around February, when they're unveiled at Toy Fair. Fives Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Has anymore news popped up about those rumored Hoth and Naboo fighter sets? The Hoth set seems really random seeing as we have gotten all the sets to make the Hoth scenes. The Naboo fighter makes sense seeing as we are getting a bunch of episode 1 sets, but Hoth seems like its done, unless its just a revamped version of the base set they had in 2007 with the doors to Echo base. A redo of that 2007 seems like it could be the only thing they could do. Quote
Fallenangel Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I'm pretty sure kids can tell the difference between ugly and not ugly. Yes, but they can't seem to tell the difference between accurate and inaccurate, or at least they wouldn't care one way or another whether Cody's visor was grey, orange, or hot pink. Also remember that 6212 is one of the ugliest sets we have and it sells pretty well (considering they've used the same design since 2004). Yeah, but a lot of us already have an AT-ST. It's one of those sets that's been rereleased so many times with fairly cheap prices that it's hard to miss. Though yes, more Imps would be nice, it's pretty cool that we're even getting two Ewoks for this cheap price anways. Yes, but two of the three System renditions we've had were terrible and some of us aren't willing to pay so much for the third System rendition nor the UCS. Including a new AT-ST would really have made the set, especially since it would work well with the Ewok traps. (Knowing LEGO's affinity for flimsy designs, it shouldn't be too hard to make an AT-ST that would slip on rolling logs, right? ) Not a lot of conversation about these two mystery sets, that seem to have popped out of nowhere. Any speculations on the "echo base" set? I'm wondering if it will be a huge set, with a massive quantity of figs, like the DS. I sure do hope so! As for the naboo fighter, maybe it will be an N-1, A ladder, and possibly an accurate naboo pilot? Which we are yet to get. Maybe they'll dig in more with the figs from those, throw a droideka in for us The only aspect of Hoth that LEGO hasn't covered yet is the inside of the base. In other words, the control panel for the ion cannon, the hallways, the bacta tank... which would probably mean a whole lot of minifigures (General Rieekan!), but it IS Empire so I think that would justify the price. A decently done Echo Base in this fashion would make a very nice Exclusive indeed. We haven't had a droideka since 2007; I think it needs an update, or at least a re-release. I was hoping for one in the Battle of Naboo, but I was disappointed. Of course, there's also the possibility of a new mold... I don't think they'll totally redo anything, sets have to kind of "evolve" My guess is a little more accuracy, and a more accurate size. Kinda like what they did with the sith infiltrator. Seeing as the N-1 is the X-wing of the Prequels, I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same thing they did with 4502 and release the same ship with more minifigures. Quote

A Hoth version of 8038... I'm drooling just thinking of it. Quote

Exactly, the it's so annoying when people are declaring themselves right, with a megablocks quality zoom, on a blurry prelim! Which is why I want everybody to see how bad the zoom is, with the reference pictures we have. Personally, I think the original was better than the 2007 version. Though a mix between them would be the most accurate. Lego won't ever come to the realization that about 3 new molds, or a series of illegal connections is the only way to do a correct droideka. I hope they do bring them back, It would be great to have the same set with more figs. Anikan, Obi, Qui-Gon, Panaka, Padme, Royal guard/ pilot, and possibly Maul. Fives Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I feel that the droideka from 2007 was good, but just too big. a droideka is not supposed to be taler than a human! If only LEGO could come up with a way to keep the same basic design, only smaller. Quote

Considering all the new molding LEGO has been doing lately (what with the collectible minifigures and all) a new droideka mold is almost expected, although I'm a bit worried that it might end up like the Grievous action figure minifigure in 8095. As long as it can roll up... Quote

I'm drooling just thinking of it. I'm still not sure. They can't possibly do a lot without repeating the 2007 version. Yes, they could do some halls, a med. lab, and an extended control room, but nto a whole lot else. All in all, not a very big set. It would be Amazing. Quote
Enpaz Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) I completely agree with the guy who said we needed a new droideka! I haven't got a single one yet and am not willing to pay 15 euros on BL. I too hope we'll get one (one? some! ) soon - at least it would be a good selling point to both children and AFOLs. Fives Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 It would be perfect if TLG would release new droidekas in a battle pack. A nice cheap way of getting them, if they do make them. Quote

If only LEGO could come up with a way to keep the same basic design, only smaller. It was totally disproportionate and way too bulbous, even for a Droideka. Much too fleshed-out, as well. Despite its curved appearance, a Droideka should be skeletal. At this point I've got more of a 'slobber' thing going, It would be....something like nothing else I think the AT-ST could stay, but just swap the figs and bunker. It would be Amazing. The model of the AT-ST in ESB is different from that of RotJ, retconned as a Blizzard Force variant. But knowing TLG, it would stay the same. That base could easily be doors and ice walls, with med bay and command center instead of shield generator and computers. Quote

Yup, people on BL think that they will sell 20 parts for the price of a BP are crazy!! A droideka BP! Fantastic! 3 droidekas...and IDK what else. This is off-topis though can somebody bump the 'future star wars sets' topic, I don't want to be the one to do it It could pop up in the naboo fighter, not unlikely. I just had an awful though/revelation what if the naboo fighter was c-c-c-clone wars? Padmes ship pops up some in the show doesn't it? could a CW expert help me out? doesn't it show up as much as the t-6 does? If not more. Quote

DarthSion Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Not surprised Savaage is being made, glad to get him, I am guessing due to his horns it will be a rubber head. Surprised they are finely giving us a Ki, will be interesting to see how they do his head, although I guess it too would be rubber. Look forward to Greedo and Watto. Vos, was he the "native American" tracker Jedi in the episode with the hutts on Null Hutta?. Who is Eeth?. While I am very happy with the new mini figures, I am very disappointed with the sets, 7 in June, 5 remakes including the billionth MF, 1 new and one (RF) an unknown, but I am guessing is a remake too. Eeth Koth is a Jedi master on the Jedi Council during the time of Episode 1 to the clone wars. He was originally going to be in Attack of the Clones, but they had a different actor for Episode 2, and the appearance was too different so the character of Agen Kolar ws born. Eeth was said to have been killed while on a gunship in the first battle of Geonosis, but Dave Filoni wanted to use him in an episode of the CW series (Grievous Intrigue) he was brought back to life. Also, the Rodian in the podrace set is Anakin's friend Wald, not Greedo. I am sincerely sorry about how off topic this is but I had to help out with this. EDIT: Vos is the Jedi who was in the Nall Hutta episode, originally to be put in the Jedi Shuttle but now in the Republic Frigate. Edited January 1, 2011 by Fives Quote

commanderneyo Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 padame's ship only shows up a few times altogether probably 5 times Yes but TLG have a habit now of making ships that only appeared in one Episode or a few scenes now so I wouldn't doubt they would consider giving us Padme's Cruiser but it reads "Naboo Fighter" so its not Padme's Cruiser but the Fighter could be Clone Wars as it appeared in a couple of scenes in the Episode Blue Shadow Virus Yes, I think the Frigate would count as a remake. Vos was in the Pod hangar in Ep. 1, too, if that helps hold the wave together any. If it was the same as the Episode 1 Cruiser it would count but it is not so I don't think it counts as a remake. Vos was also in the bar that Anakin had to save Jar-Jar from Sebulba in Episode 1 They're both the same class of ship in the same scale. Recoloring doesn't change that, IMO. 8092 is considered a remake of the the landspeeder included in the Cantina, and I think this is the same case. I guess it's a matter pf personal perception. That too. Quote
