Brickdoctor Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I think Panaka's hat is the new Hoth helmet piece in maroon, with a gold visor, but that could just be me... Hopefully we will have better non-preliminary pictures before March We'll get pics through Toy Fair in a month or so. Quote
KingDom Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) I just saw the new episode of the clone wars and is it just me or does the colour scheme on the dathomir speeder look all wrong. I guess the shape is good enough though, I'll still get it but mainly for the figures. Edited January 15, 2011 by KingDom Quote
DarthSion Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 For anyone wondering, this is a speeder used on Dathomir. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Nightsister_speeder-Monster.jpg Quote

DarthR2-D2 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Any word on 7877 Naboo Fighter or 7879 Hoth Echo Base? Minifigures? Vehicles? Prices? Release Dates? Etc? Quote
Masked Builder Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Any word on 7877 Naboo Fighter or 7879 Hoth Echo Base? Minifigures? Vehicles? Prices? Release Dates? Etc? Just wait for the Toyfair. Quote

Well, its just a dumb speeder to begin with, whats the point of havening two cockpit/control pannels? only one person can control it , I'll probably just get that as a parts pack for minifigs, cause it does have some nice slope pieces! SWMAN Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Once again the OT is getting the shaft on this wave of sets. The Ewok Attack is very limited in its minifigure selection. Another Rebel Trooper would have been nice. The Millenium Falcon is the exact same one we had before but with some different figures. The best sets are actually the TPM sets. Almost all of the minifigures look new which is great. Captain Panaka looks really cool. I really hope that this is a sign that Lego is going to come out with some more TPM sets and do the movie justice. While it wasn't the best, the Battle of Naboo has been severely underrepresented in Legos. Quote

While it wasn't the best, the Battle of Naboo has been severely underrepresented in Legos. We're getting three OT sets, and that's not counting the UCS set which might be OT. Three OT sets is actually a good year considering CW is more relevant to kids (the target consumer) and most OT vehicles/scenes have been covered at some point in time. This is coming from someone who wishes all the sets would be OT. Quote

Another Rebel Trooper would have been nice. The Millenium Falcon is the exact same one we had before but with some different figures. The phrase "exactly the same" cannot be attributed to the new Falcon set; there are several differences, the most obvious being the 3x6 wing plates used for the mandibles rather than the 4x8 wings which were used on the 4504. If you want exactly the same, try 6212; they added, like, one 2x2 tile and made a couple color changes and that's it. This is also true for the Lambda-class shuttle from the 7264 Imperial Inspection; if I rememeber correctly, the only difference between it and 7166 was the change from grey to bley. I just saw the new episode of the clone wars and is it just me or does the colour scheme look all wrong. I guess the shape is good enough though, I'll still get it but mainly for the figures. Delta 38 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 That's off-putting- the LEGO version looks almost nothing like this, except the basic shape. Yeah, they seemed to have used an unusual source. Is this speeder featured prominently? I can't even recognise it because of the scale of the set. Maybe it's because it's so angular that they downsized the speeder. I'll still get this, but I'm not overly excited for the speeder itself. Quote

If it wasn't for the fact that I like sets to be as true as possible to their 'real' counterparts, I'd say LEGO's had a chance at being better designed. Quote

Aethersprite Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Actually, it isn't all bad. While it has some major flaws, it's not as bad as you guys make it out to be. The minifigs themselves are worth it, though, so I'm getting this set nevertheless. Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) The bike itself looked fine in the episode, the model leaves something to be desired, but hopefully that will be fixed up a little when we see the finished models and not just blurry pre-lim shots! I also agree that the set will really be worth it just for the minifigs though, especially if we get new printing on Ventress and Anakin for their new costumes. Any word on 7877 Naboo Fighter or 7879 Hoth Echo Base? Minifigures? Vehicles? Prices? Release Dates? Etc? Can only speculate.. but I think the Naboo fighter will be a midi set, so probably no minifigs. Edited January 16, 2011 by Penitent Tangent Quote
KimT Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 While getting Savage Opress is great, I'd rather have another Nightsister than Asajj. Having Naa'Leth would be have been super - then we'd have the setup for most of the revenge story when Dooku betrays Asajj. But I guess we'll have to do with what we're getting. Savage sure is a great fig. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 While getting Savage Opress is great, I'd rather have another Nightsister than Asajj. Naa'Leth would've been a great fig, with her cool red pointy-hood outfit and an energy bow. But even if I doubt it, it would be still great to see a new Asajj fig on her nightsister outfit in the Dathomiri speeder set, just like what she wore in that particular episode. But based on the current trend of exclusive figs being released to smaller sets (Rex, Cody), we might be just getting the 'normal' Asajj. The Savage fig will clearly be the 'selling point' of this set. Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) Well this pretty much confirms the rumors off the star wars advent calender I wonder what the price will be and what it will include, hopefully some nice minifigs and some mini's Source. Savage sure is a great fig. Though I'll admit it would be nice to have more variety in characters, I think that Asajj in her new outfit is essential. Naa'Leth would be nice, but I think Mother Talzin would be better (though less likely due to her excessive amount of robes). If, for some weird reason, Lego decides that Anakin and Ventress don't need new outfits, then the value of this set goes down (though it's still worth it for Savage). I'm also wondering why Anakin's in it at all. He isn't even in the episode. Maybe they battle later, but I'm going to guess they wanted someone for Savage or Ventress to fight. Quote

In the next episode "Witches Of The Mist" Obi-Wan and Anakin use one of those Nightsister Speeders to go to where Mother Talzin is to find out where Savage Opress is gone so it actually makes sense to have Anakin in the set as he will be in the Vehicle in the Next Episode Quote
