Well I wouldn't think so because the battle off Naboo isn't clone wars its pre trilogy.

So is the Imperial V-Wing. I mean, it's seen in Ep. III, right? So that makes it PT as well.

Just a few reminders people...

It's a rumor and picture thread for 2011 Star Wars sets. It doesn't say 'please give us your opinion on each and every set coming out.' All this does is run the risk of confrontation and argument. I know how you guys all love to argue...

Let's be sure we are using proper posting procedures please! I've been on a chambering rampage lately, and if you decide to be sloppy, you might be the next one.

Thanks, now you may continue.

Eh? So what are we supposed to be talking about?

'Cause giving opinions on sets is the point of having a topic for discussion of 2011 sets, isn't it? :S

These are absolutly sweet. I guess I was wrong about Vos... but this looks like a good first wave. New pistols, great new figs (don't like the way Aurra's hair is attached though), new ARF mold, and some sweet models there. My wallet's gonna ache.

I am also confused, Stash. As already said, isn't that kind of the point?

EDIT: Is that a new Assasin Droid head?

Sadly I have to admit, the Clone Trooper Commando is just a green marked normal trooper, probably LEGO wanted to pepper up the name instead of calling him 1337th Company Clone or whatever he is part of. Also, we do get four figs (woooooohoooo) with two Bomb Squads for the clones and a fourth Mando, sadly no sign of Pre Viszla.

And to finally confirm everything: Pictures! http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/showthread.php?t=20804 (Scroll down and click on the small images to enlarge)

Gasp! Pictures! Pictures! :classic:

Thanks a lot for this. Yeah, I didn't expect a commando, but as long as it's a new print or mould, that's fine by me. All three types are new and invaluable to me. The Mandalorians are equally great. I'll be sure to get these as soon as I see them!

Yay, I was right about the droid carrier, the V-Wing being the recoloured black/grey one and the inclusion of a full astromech in the V-Wing.

Yes, I've only just seen these images today. I'm going to go and hyperventilate now.

Yep the V-Wings PT. I was using The Battle of Naboo as just one example so I wouldn't have to type more im so lazy !

I find it to be ridiculous how many obscure vehicles they've chosen. I mean, if some one doesn't watch the CW and is not hardcore, who would know anything about them accept for the Battle of Naboo? I'm actually becoming increasingly disappointed in these set...

Is it just me, or does Sasse Tinn look a lot like a generic clone trooper? And does Quinlan Vos look a lot like boba fett with just a yellow stripe. And does Aura sing look like Assajj Ventress a little to much, an I personally think that they should have stuck to a rubber head for Sasse, and I don't like the head extension for Shak, But Embo looks bretty cool. And whats with Suji?

Again, these are prelims.

No, It's based off of the hasbro version thatwas made for their action figure lineup. Pilots still look like clone pilots even at the end of ROTS.

That scene from ROTS with the colorless Star Destroyers is most likely set after ROTS but shown to show that they are making the transistion to OT.

I think the V-Wing is much bigger than the old one, judging from the picture. If you look, you can see the nose of the ship is made with a 16x4 wedge, which already makes it longer than the old one.

And whats with Suji?

It's interesting, in the minifig list is shows Sugi as that shapeshifter. But on the box art there's a completely different fig. No tactical droid... if there isn't one in the second wave I'll be upset...

Posted

Does that Cato Parisiti piece mean we're getting her in the near future? I hope we get Sugi though. I also hope Aurra doesn't kill them in a future episode. Why else would she be in the set?

Cause it's LEGO, where they randomly place people in completly unrelated sets.

By the looks of the clone trooper BP has two bomb squad troopers, a ARF trooper and one commando trooper. At least these CW battle packs this time round will both sell well unlike 2009 clones sold fantastic and the droids....well that's another story !

I'm a conformist! everyone ! :sweet:

I hope so. The last one was just 15 bucks, I would be disappointed when it would be the same size but 10 bucks more expensive.

Yeah, but the clone pack especially sucks. Why do we get two Bomb Squads instead of two of the "commando" clones? I would have liked the idea of having something like a replacement battallion for the regular Whities, instead we build a whole platoon of bombdefusers. That makes no sense, even when there are defuseable bombs on your battlefield it probably isn´t more than the 200 or so they had at Vindis laboratory, that two of those guys could handle easily.

If we had two Greenies I would have bought 3 of those packs, 3 ARFs because I don´t need more or less, 3 Defusers because it is a reasonable size and 6 Green Corp troopers as replacement corp when Whities are to bland for my taste. Now I have to buy the ARFs and Greenies from Bricklink or find somebody who has use for the defusers.

Really, sometimes it seems like LEGO has something against 501st Legion, 212th Battallion.

To sum up with the rest of the sets: Mando pack seems good, I hope they don´t make the jetpacks unnecessarily rare. Every Mando in the show had a jetpack. That we only can see one pack doesn´t make the situation look better.

V-Wing looks decent and has interesting figs but in no way outstandig. I probably will save him for another TRU promotion like buy LSW for 30 bucks and you get free chrome [insert name] fig.

Battle of Naboo is another good looking vehicle. I hope the design is simple and easily to lenghten, so I can finally store my droid army more interestingly than standing like tin soldiers on a plate.

Halo looks like an interesting ship. Somebody mentioned it to look like a dumpster. I like this interpretation, it truly is more what I understand under a space truck than the Falcons design.

The Jedi half-saucer shuttle looks like a intersting vehicle and is hopefully easily to store than the Theta and all other spacecraft through this paperlike shape. As an addition we also get 3 new Jedi and a second Obi-Wan and if it sucks as a model, the white and winered plates can be used for MOCs. Just lovely. It could have only been better if they tried the Awesome-class Shuttle.

I bet that within 2 years people will pay $20 and more for them assassindroid sets.

An ARF trooper... I can die happy :sweet: Maybe it's my eyes, but does the picture of the ARF trooper in the lower left hand corner of the BP box look different than the one given above... I can't really tell b/c it's so small, but it looks sort of grey... almost multicam-ish. Does anyone else see that? Camo ARF troopers?

I'm pretty sure it is going to be the generic Lightning Squadron-type ARF troopers (middle one), the camouflaged ones are just hard to pull-off considering the complexity of the camo prints. Besides, I can clearly see from the photos that they are not camouflaged.

4864712501_f89a96188a_z.jpg

I don't know if the ARF Trooper will be camo printed (I doubt it) but what I want to know is about the helmet - the preliminary picture looks like the clone has a white head with the black "eyes" printed on it, like the Clone Pilot in the recent Palpatine's Shuttle. I'd like that, that would be good though it's probably going to have all the detail printed on the helmet and the ARF trooper will just have a normal Clone Trooper face.

Hmmm, it would really be interesting to know how would they pull-off the black eyes of the ARF. I personally would prefer a black head like the OT's biker scout troopers wherein the helmet has a 'hole' for the eyes. But since it's CW, it'll probably be printed helmet with the generic clone face.

Is the new clone trooper battle pack looks like it will come with a BARC speeder? Kind of looks like the on ein the old turbo tank.

From what I can make out of the blurry photos it will be a newly-designed BARC Speeder, more accurate to the real one, and not like the one we got from the old CTT. I see the front opening exhaust, front twin flaps, long rear part and two rear flaps/blasters in the BARC speeder.

I have to apologize to Navy Trooper Fenson and his source for my lack of faith in their information about the Vos mini figure. I'm stupid. You're smart. I was wrong. You were right. You're the best. I'm the worst. You're very good looking. I'm not attractive. And so on.

Anyway, good looking images. The thing that I am not sure about is what weapon the new blaster represents. As far as Lego Star Wars weapons, we have the DC-17 in the small pistol, the DC-15 blaster rifle in the rifle, and the DC-15 blaster in the medium size rifle. So what is the new mold supposed to be?

I think that Lego is going to keep the clone commando name on the new battle packs because that will sell more sets. However, I also think that we will see more accurate version of the commandos in this summers' sets. They will just label them with their given names like they do with any major character like Obi Wan or Vader. So because the commandos are going to be so popular on the Clone War show, I think we will see Sev, Boss, Fixer, and Scorch in the future.

I also think that we are going to get Cato Parasitti in the Halo and not Sugi, which I feel is an improvement.

But don't you think it's kinda wrong if they retain the 'Clone Commando' name for the green clone which is clearly not a Commando? I think it would be better if they made a new helmet mold for the Commandos or change the name of the green clone trooper in the BP.

And like what DarthSion said, wouldn't it be also wrong if Sugi was not in her own ship? Maybe that's just a mix-up and Cato will appear in a later set.

So what is the new mold supposed to be?

It's the kind of thin pistol that bounty hunters have. I bet Bane will have the same mold in future sets if he is ever released again.

So because the commandos are going to be so popular on the Clone War show, I think we will see Sev, Boss, Fixer, and Scorch in the future.

Aren't they just gonna be a cameo appearance in one of the episodes? I doubt they'll be popular because of that, but given the popularity of the videogame, we still might see them in a future set, I guess.

I also think that we are going to get Cato Parasitti in the Halo and not Sugi, which I feel is an improvement.

That wouldn't make sense. It's Sugi's ship after all. It shows (and reads, sorta) Sugi on the box, and they also wrote Sugi in the minifig line-up, it's just the wrong picture, so that's who we'll get.

Posted (edited)

Oh, heck yeah, KeilDaMan, I think it's wrong. And despite what other people say, Lego does appear to try and keep things accurate. (Stop laughing) I would love for Lego to redo the helmet and give us an army of cheap commandos. But I don't see them doing that. At least not with the battlepacks. As far as Sugi, I think the fact that we have a model of Cato in the images is greater proof that we will see her in the set. It would make sense to have Sugi in this set but Lego does like to move characters into sets that they have nothing to do with. And now I have successfully contradicted my first point.

Perhaps, but since it's her ship, she is the most important character in this set, and the box shows a minifig with her top printed on the torso, which is just as much proof as Cato's mask if you ask me.

I could be wrong. If you look at my prior post, I seem to be wrong about future sets quite a bit.

Indeed you are, but you are absolutely correct about yourself.
