NicksBricks Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 These look pretty cool! I haven't been watching Clone Wars in a while, is that an odd variant of Darth Maul? Quote
jackmcar99 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 PLEASE tell me that the millenium falcon does NOT have stickers please LEGO dont give this one set stickers, either way stickers or not, im getting 2 of these sets one to build and display and one to preserve in original unopened box, becuase for some reason the millenium falcons ALWAYS double or triple their prices on EBAY once their discontinued ;) Quote
Cad Bane Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) These look pretty cool! I haven't been watching Clone Wars in a while, is that an odd variant of Darth Maul? No. His name is Savage Opress who recently appeared in the Nightsisters Trilogy (who may or may not have a connection to Maul, that is yet to be seen). BTW, all the names of the figures are in the first post. (I'm assuming that you're talking about the Dathomir Speeder, sorry Sith Nightspeeder. Stupid name change makes no sense...) SWMAN Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Well I've not read or watched any Harry Potter but at the moment I'd be more tempted to buy a HP set than what we've seen here so far. I don't mean to be a mini-moderator, but there are threads specific to this type of question. This thread is for speculation and discussion about 2011 Star Wars Sets. Nothing else. And fallenangel327, the misspelling of the "Millennium Falcon" is quite common among all Star Wars fans, not just the lazy ones. I don't think they are purposely leaving off that one letter because they are lazy. Personally I find it extremely rude that you went through the thread and posted a reply with the only goal being to point out grammar mistakes made by other members and opinions they have that you don't agree with. As a member of this community I find bashing of other members to be unnecessary. Quote
lego wonkyeye Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 All these sets look great, but I personally love the three clone wars sets. Just need a picture of the geonosis starfighte!! Quote

I don't think they are purposely leaving off that one letter because they are lazy. That's like saying some U.S History teachers can't spell "Franklin Roosevelt". And in any case, if they've been informed of the correct spelling, shouldn't they use it? sok117 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 But you left out an apostrophe in your post. Ah, the irony... But I agree with Fallenangel, we all need to act like adults here, and sure mis-spelling a word once is okay, but when people tell you the correct spelling, I can't see why people keep misspelling it, besides, it is a real world, not some crazy Star Wars name, in which case, it's okay to misspell. Also, people need to stop using the Internet chat emoticons like :) and ;), there is a button up at the top of posting that is a smiley face, click on it, and there are a bunch of emoticons for use (and there designed like lego heads!) But lets get back on topic, shall we? Quote
Snowspeeder Pilot Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Ewok's Attack set is great but I do not think that Tokkat is the name of the ewok, for me is Oochee, one of the two ewoks that hijack the AT-ST. By the other hand, hope to see Rebel Pilot Wes Janson (Wedge Antilles' Gunner), General Rieekan and why not Toryn Farr on the Hoth Set (if this is not only a rumor). Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 have you guys seen these new images? [snip] Yeah. kris kelvin posted them a few pages back. Quote

CommanderFox Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) New pics for the sets look grand! Can anyone tell what the figs are for 7964? Im pretty sure we get Rex again. I found this on Brickset, not sure if its been posted but you can see some new figs (im hoping they will be in some new sets) here's the link to it. CF Edited February 9, 2011 by CommanderFox Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I suggest you read the first post CommanderFox, since all of the info is there. The Clones in the Frigate are Commander Wolfe and one of his Clone regiment. The videogames are never indicators of the actual minifigures we will expect to see, and even when LEGO does put out figures of characters who first appeared in LEGO form in a game, they often look different in their plastic versions. JRBricks Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I'm happy there is finally going to be a okay priced Millennium Falcon, even though the design isn't that good. I dislike all the Clone Wars sets so I won't pick them up. I'm actually really happy to see another one of these Biker Scouts with a speeder bike. Picking up multiples of those Ewok Attacks. I agree. For those of us who are new (just got into Lego two years ago) this is a great opportunity for my sons and I to pick up a reasonably priced Millennium Falcon. My youngest son is as excited about the figures and playing with the Falcon as I am about building it. Quote
RileyC Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Yay more pics! Podracers - Looks absolutely amazing! I cannot wait to pick this set up! The podracers look absolutely flawless, its in proportion, its got good detail and it has some great new minifigs. I just hope it includes some kind of stand for them cause they look like they could fall over easy. A must buy for me Infiltrator - Looks like a meaty upgrade. This new set has gotten rid of a lot of the BURPS the old set suffered with. So that will be good for part packs and it will probably give us a nicer build. The minifigs are really nice and its good that Panaka has a new hat mould instead of the hoth trooper hat just recoloured, which was ok but it will be better for Naboo security armies. Seems to have better landing gear which the old one horribly suffers from. Will also be a must get! Frigate - I can see how this set may be appealing to some people but I find it average. Im not much of a fan of painted clone troopers so they dont worry me. The jedi are nice but not enough for me to buy it. If I was to get this set I would just buy the EP I republic cruiser because its just the same ship but without all the flick fires poking out. It also just looks better in red. Thanks for the coverage from the fair Kris Kelvin its been wonderful! Quote
prateek Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Oh, thanks for reposting those pics phoinix, as I haven't seen them before. I like what they did with the Podracers. The Technic lift arms look good, that is, if they are Technic lift arms Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 This new set has gotten rid of a lot of the BURPS the old set suffered with. I do not think this word means what what you think it means - I'm pretty sure neither of the former Infiltrators had Big Ugly Rock Pieces. I really don't see the charm of the Sith Infiltrator. It seems like a hard ship to get right, perhaps because it's a dark ugly ship to begin with. It's like Vader's Tie with a Pinocchio nose on the front, painted all shiny and given some red eyes. The first version was horridly blocky, the second one was on the small side and had too many big slopes, and this one just seems… ugly. The front sloping section looks ultra-thin and unattached to the back portion. It also doesn't seem to have symmetrical plates on the bottom sloping upwards to meet the downward sloping ones on top, which just looks awkward. I think LEGO should just stop trying to make a ship that was crappy to begin with. Even though this one is quite big and will fetch a hefty price tag, it looks like it will have next-to-no interior or features (probably some hidden flick-fires), and be utterly worthless for the money, no matter what country you're in. If they are going to make this shiny ship grey every time, I would've liked to see a grey rendition of Padme's Episode I ship, even if they'd scaled it way down to meet the same price point. They could've included the exact same figures (and speeder bike) too. Quote
user Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) I'm excited that they FINALLY made a new podrace set and that new sebulba is great! I'm not really liking the technic stuff though, But that can easily be modded. I only have one gripe about the set and it's the fact that we don't see any new podracers, or even a redo of aldar beedo or gasgano (a redo of the gasgano figure would be awesome!) But we just got Anakin and sebulba. Oh well, maybe if this set sells really well they might make more pod-racers! IMO it'd be a lot better than more re-hashed or obscure clone wars vehicles. Fallenangel Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I really don't see the charm of the Sith Infiltrator. It seems like a hard ship to get right, perhaps because it's a dark ugly ship to begin with. It's like Vader's Tie with a Pinocchio nose on the front, painted all shiny and given some red eyes. Is it shiny? I thought the Scimitar, along with the Radiant VII, was one of the better-looking ships of Episode I, which just had a lot of bad designs (I mean, J-type 327 Nubian and MTT were ). It's sleek, it's not chrome-plated like the Naboo ships, and it's not made up of round lumps like the Trade Federation vehicles. The Scimitar's prow is supposed to be quite thin - granted, not as thin as they've made it on this, but definitely thinner than it's been on the last two renditions. And the bottom doesn't slope upward very much either. On the contrary, I'd say this newer Scimitar is a major improvement over 7663 and 7151. There appears to be a hinge on the nose, suggesting some sort of cargo storage, and in any case we all know the real reason LEGO made this set is for minifigure demand. If they are going to make this shiny ship grey every time, I would've liked to see a grey rendition of Padme's Episode I ship, even if they'd scaled it way down to meet the same price point. They could've included the exact same figures (and speeder bike) too. Funny you should mention that - I haven't seen Episode I in a while, but I remember the Maul-Qui-Gon duel taking place next to the Nubian... IMO it'd be a lot better than more re-hashed obscure clone wars vehicles. I wasn't aware that they had re-hashed any obscure Clone Wars vehicles. Can you name one? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 There appears to be a hinge on the nose, suggesting some sort of cargo storage, and in any case we all know the real reason LEGO made this set is for minifigure demand. Yeah, I'm thinking it'll be similar to the Venator playset. I do think this is a big improvement. I got the '07 one because it was on sale and I had some Loyalty Card stamps to redeem, but even with the discounts I regret the purchase. It's a giant lump o' curved slopes with tons of gaps. Quote
RileyC Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I do not think this word means what what you think it means - I'm pretty sure neither of the former Infiltrators had Big Ugly Rock Pieces. Oops. My bad, I thought it was just to describe huge Lego pieces. This changes everything! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Oops. My bad, I thought it was just to describe huge Lego pieces. This changes everything! You're thinking of BPPs, Big Pointless Pieces. Although those pieces aren't exactly pointless, but the way they were used in that model was awful. Quote
