BrickArtist Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Hey Moderators!! In the frontpage section the gallery that's linked only shows Star Wars sets, there are no images of the rest of this year's products at the NY Toy Fair ... Really lovely new Star Wars sets, nevertheless not interested in the new Millenium Falcon, i think the 2004 version was far detailed, although I must accept that the blasters and landing craft at the bottom of this year's is quite awesome... Thats due to the fact that they're busy as hell. Quote
Bricker Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! THERES A HUGE GAP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GEONOSIAN STAR FIGHTER!!! Hopefully youll be able to slide the sides to clos it. If not, after I get it im gonna moc it to death. Loving the millemium falcon. A definate buy. New Luke hair is epic. After I get it im gonna be opening it all day . I noticed the republic frigate has a yoda so I think I might get it. Might make me spill some cash but Im sure itll be worth it. Ewok attack is way cooler than I thought. Im so buying and making it into a tree house for my LEGO version of me . Plus I get a yummy biker and speeder. The speeder including Asaj and Savaj and Anakin seems ok. If I get it its for the figs. The speeder overrall, is hideous. Thats all I can remember. Edited February 13, 2011 by Bricker Quote
DarkFader Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) I like the looks of the new sets a lot; for the moment, the only one I am sure that I will buy is Ewok Attack since I like ewoks and that "attack tree" looks pretty cool. Still, I think it should have included one or two stormtroopers, but either way, I think it'll go well along with the old Ewok Attack set and the Battle of Endor AT-ST, both of which I have in a nearby drawer. Penitent Tangent Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 To express how we all feel go to this link. Seriously though, what is TLG thinking?! If this doesn't change my purchases will drastically decrease. The sets do look nice though but a line must be drawn somewhere. Stop complaining, I'd very happily pay those prices. The US prices are going up, but the rest of the world still pays nearly double that. Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I am very disappointed. The sets are great, but just look at those prices! You said it. The Falcon is beautiful, but priced way out of my reach. Same for the Infiltrator. I guess if I'm buying anything from this wave, it's a treehouse. In a way, this is a good thing, because Kingdoms and POTC already have their grubby mitts in my pocket, I need at least one Creator house for my kids, and Harry Potter probably isn't done with me yet. Brickdoctor Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 New Leia = Bottom of MF = At least they improved the MF interior. No piece that has a 'Hyperdrive' sticker this time around. This confirms my feelings about the Nantex. It's gappy with 'figs that, while they're new and exciting, aren't executed very well IMHO. On the positive side, the Pods are looking amazing. TLG balanced them on 8x8 stands? Can I say 'w00t', or is that only for immature teens? Plus all the detailing looks fantastic. Quote
gogocar Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I really like the new sets, but the Millenium falcon looks a lot like the 2004 version , because they are using the pretty much same technique to buld the roof. Quote
Matiam92 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Ki Adi Mundi looks like s***... I was hoping after all of these years we would get a good one and that gap in the middle of the Geonosian Starfighter is hideous/repulsive/ugly/eyesore/disgusting/IcantthinkofanymoresoIwillstopnow Captin Panaka is supposed to be BLACK not tan... He just got to Tatooine he was not there for his whole life. Sith Nightspeeder looks to have like a bajiliion stickers (From what I can count atleast 10(you can see atleast 5 and on the opposite side there are probably the same amount)) Watto & Sebulba look too cartoony & Obi wan was nowhere near this scene, he was on Queen Amidala's Shuttle trying to fix the hyperdrive or get with one of the handmaidens Clones are amazing... A WANT THEM but they are in the years more expencive sets so I can not get them Eeth Koth looks s***** and so does Quinlan Vos Princess Leia looks like she overdid it on the makeup which makes her look 15 Luke is looking a little young, he is supposed to be 20 not 15 (But I am liking the Jedi training helmet and DOUBLE SIDED HEAD!!!!!!) Supersonic Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Stop complaining, I'd very happily pay those prices. The US prices are going up, but the rest of the world still pays nearly double that. You're so right there. I can't imagine people thinking the new prices are high, while us Europeans have to pay so much more. Also, how is 120 for the frigate or 140 for the Falcon too much? That's the same price range as the Venator, Tantive IV or ISD. Both sets have many parts too. We should be happy - the only overpriced set is the Geonosian SF with 155 pieces for 30 dollars. Quote
Muddy Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) So toynewsi has pictures of all but Sw they have city advent but no Sw advent Update - the City calendar includes a building and even a police cruiser small but minifig%2 Edited February 13, 2011 by Muddy Quote
Fives Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I've noticed that people are upset we are getting Obi-Wan in the new podracer set. Why!? I know he wasn't in this secen at all, but at least TLG remade him. He isn't the best fig of them all, but at least they completed the TPM cast. No offense to anyone, I just think its a bit silly. Masked Builder Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Did anyone else see the nice new printed hologram Yoda is holding in the Republic Frigate? The figs in the Frigate look great, though it looks a lot like the old one, I did miss it, but I'm disappointed that it's not that different. Ewok Attack will be my first Original Trilogy set in over a year! It's quite good looking. i like the fact that Anakin got a Season 3 outfit change. Now Obi-wan and Ahsoka need new designs too. Ki Adi Mundi looks like s***... I was hoping after all of these years we would get a good one and that gap in the middle of the Geonosian Starfighter is hideous/repulsive/ugly/eyesore/disgusting/IcantthinkofanymoresoIwillstopnow NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! THERES A HUGE GAP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GEONOSIAN STAR FIGHTER!!! Hopefully youll be able to slide the sides to clos it. If not, after I get it im gonna moc it to death. I really don't have a problem with the hole in the fighter. One it's accurate, and two at least the cockpit is sealed off. New Leia = On the positive side, the Pods are looking amazing. TLG balanced them on 8x8 stands? Can I say 'w00t', or is that only for immature teens? Plus all the detailing looks fantastic. Woah yeah. She's ugly. Oh and I agree with you about the pods. They're amazing! Quote
the-bricking-builder Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 these sets are really good 7956 ewok attack really good, nice figs for it's price 7965 millenium falcon Great set! 3 redesigned figs,I'm the only one who loves the new Leia Fig If I get the MF i put the couch from the fire brigade in it like in the family guy version of epsode 4 love everything about it,except the price 7961 Sith Infiltrator Meh,love it mostly because the figs but the infaltator is cool to 7962 Pod racers good set, great figs, the new watto and sebulba are a HUGE improvement on the old versions 7959 Geonisian starfigter Meh,good figs, average set, maybe the worst set of 2011 7957 sith nightspeeder I like this set but the figs are greater. All new figs design 7964 Republic frigate I like it,but I don't buy it.For green lighsaber lovers is this paradise oooooh, Lego gonna kill my lovey wallet Quote
Bobskink Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I'm happy that I'm not alone in my opinion for once. I know it may sound hard, but I kinda hope that the new Millenium falcon sells bad. Hopping that some people at lego will see that their sets are becomming to expensive and that new versions doen't mean better versions. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 The nightspeeder and genosis starfighter look pretty crap - but can I be bothered to bricklink the figures? May have to buy the sets and sell the craft No interior for the falcon...well, no detailed interior. Gonna need to wait for the pros to redesign theirs , then I'll copy those! Quote
Zarkan Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Well, I don't usually comment on Star Wars sets, but I have to say that the new Podracer kit is absolutely amazing! Definitely the hightlight of the line, and with both several exclusive figures, excellent models, and a great parts selection, it has something for pretty much everyone. On the other hand, with the exception of the Republic Frigate and the Sith Infiltrator, all the other sets seem to be just excuses to pack in new minifigs with an expensive but underwheming model. The "new" Millenium falcon looks actually worse than the previous version, IMO, and the Ewok Attack, Dathomir speeder, and Geonosian Starfighter are all nothing special. Between this and Pirates of the Caribbean, I think most of the great design work this year went into non-licensed sets. Alien Conquest, Kingdoms, and Ninjago's summer sets way outclass most of the licensed themes, IMO, and if it wasn't for all the awesome minifigures, I doubt POTC and Starwars would sell as well this year as I think they will. doriansdad Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 While the prices are higher I have found that with the new pricing policy stores are able to give a good discount very quickly. Typically in the USA you can buy any set at 25% off every few weeks or the usual buy 1 get 1 50% off. The regular retail prices are definitely high no doubt tho....but I don't see prices for any product or service falling unless it is for outdated technology. Quote

And since this is the summer wave, I don't mind waiting a few months to save at Black Friday. Personally the only sets I feel are overpriced are the Frigate and Ewok Attack, but the CW flagship set of the Summer wave has been $120 for the past few years (RGS, Venator, Turbo Tank) so there's no surprise there; and Ewok Attack's two new Ewoks make it totally worth it. Future74 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the pictures Grogall and all the others that posted links to Toyfair pictures of course. I'm really looking forward to the june wave after seeing them. I like the sets a lot, but in my opinion the minifigures are the ones that really steal the show. edit: please dont turn this topic into a price discussion/rant Edited February 13, 2011 by Future74 Quote
Santhor Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Okay people, who wants to give me all their Wolfpack troopers once they buy the Frigate? What? No one?? All right then, look out Bricklink, HERE I COME!! (in a few months) -Santhor Quote
lapis Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 ughh, for me this podracers are ....not as good as the old ones. Quote
nindja10 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 i really like new ewok attack even if i'm not huge SW fan i might get one or two of it Quote
Bricker Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Why do you all say Leias ugly? I think shes a very pretty minifig. And to be honest I could care less about accuracy (sorry fellas). The last geonosian starfighter didnt have it. I will MOC it so that theres no hole but you really cant blame TLG. I blame the maker of SW. I wonder what sets we are gonna get that contains new Ahsoka and Obi-Wan. Im guessing the shuttle that Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka are in when they crash in that weird planet thing where theres the evil brother and good sister and their dad and Anaking is known more as the chosen one. It seems most likely. Edited February 13, 2011 by Bricker Quote
prateek Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Am I the only one that noticed Luke's double sided head, and the terrible rendition of Quinlan Vos? Edited February 13, 2011 by prateek Quote

It seems most likely. There's no sign that we'll get such a set in this wave, so this would be speculation for the Future Sets thread. If the outfits are the same in Season 4, I'm sure we'll eventually get them as minifigs. Am I the only one that noticed Luke's double sided head, and the terrible rendition of Quinlan Vos? The double-sided head was mentioned before. That's the only MF 'fig I want. Hopefully it's issued as a magnet/keychain, otherwise I might BL it. Quote
