Brickdoctor Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I believe it is the nougat color that was introduced in Prince of Persia sets. Really? I know the tan has been used for minifigs, but judging by the fact that flesh has become standard for licensed lines, wouldn't this be the dk. flesh we see in the new Gungans? As many as you want, though they won't all be comfortable. Disassemble them and you'll get even more in... Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I actually posted that same pic 4 pages back. Yeah just noticed that now, sorry. You can't keep up with this topic when there are new pics of the sets. CF Quote
Blackknight112 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 To me the podracers seem the only good set. (havent seen the naboo fighter and hoth base yet) the prices are just insane high Quote
lego wonkyeye Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Anybody else think that the skirt piece used on the first ventress would go good with eeth koth? It would have to be recoloured to the colour of his tunic but I think it would have a good effect. The regular black one would go well with luminara also. Quote
MrLestrange Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 For luminara, Okay (not ok-ey), thats would be nice, but for eeth koth... I don't think so. Quote

That darker flesh tone was also used on a bunch of Indiana Jones figures, and it really looks darker than Captain Panaka's head. It's also clear that Panaka's head is not the normal flesh color, and it does look like Nougat to me. Once these sets come out we will know for sure. Quote
Gregorovich Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) The new sets all look great, but why does Padme have the exact same head as Hermione Granger, and why does Leia have the same head as Tamina? Edited February 16, 2011 by Gregorovich Quote
General Magma Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I'm not sure whether these have already been posted or not, but I thought I'd just let you all know that there are new close-up pics out there. We already knew that Wald had the Rodian head in a new color - sand green - but it looks like that's not all... He looks great, serves for some good variety within the Rodian species, might we see another Rodian in sand green with another print. The other pictures can be found on Brickipedia by looking up the names of each specific figure. This is all for now. Hopefully it hasn't been posted yet. I'm looking forward to the Echo Base set; hopefully we'll see something of that soon, too. ~ General Magma Quote
Stegoceras Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 First off, thanks for all the lovely picture Secondly, nothing really piques my interest from this wave as of yet. Mini-figures look great but just can justify a buy just for it's mini-figures it needs to be complemented by a good model. The Geonosian starfighter looks to most interesting to be honest, but if Euro prices are going anything like they have been, it's going to be way expensive. Of course that's hardly a problem to me at the moment, cause I normally don't buy the new sets shortly after release. I'm currently scraping up 2009-2010 sets anyways, which spares me a nice coin here an there in the long-run. and why oh why are people so negative about the bottom of the Millennium Falcon, I realize it's hardly a good bottom, but honestly it's a bottom (besides there are so many models with lousy bottoms, it feels sort of nostalgic as well thinking of the Gungan Sub), it's hardly ever in sight unless you put it on a glass table that you then suspend from the sealing or if you fail to see what the top is and display your model upside down. I think it's a little more complicated than that. I think it's the fact that said bottom has a part that's nice and smooth (ventral turret) and a part that isn't (uh, everything else). I think it'd look much better if the turret wasn't so slick. I mean, you can't leave the turret out, but if it was just, say, four bars and a hinge, then it might look better. That 8-wide circular plate is the best looking part of the bottom, but the way they did the rest makes it stick out like a sore thumb. There's also the fact that the bottom is exposed Technic bricks. They just don't look good. Lots of sets have bad bottoms, but they usually are plated over. And finally, the fact that they put flick-fire missiles down there means that you eventually have to look at the bottom. It's not something easily hidden if you're one to play with your models. That having been said, I don't think the bottom looks that bad myself; what bothers me is the exposed Technic makes it look like they just didn't put much effort into the bottom. Toss on the Technic to hold it together, don't bother with the plating - hey, we have enough money left to throw flick missiles there instead! And honestly, it's not like grey Technic 3L pins don't exist. If you're not going to plate it over, the least you could do is use Technic pins that aren't red. Quote
r4-g9 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 i have found close ups of most of the other figs on brickipeadia: geonosian ki adi mundi qi gon jinn captian panaka padme darth maul sebulba obi wan young anakin comander wolf wolfpack eeth koth leia luke sorry if these have been posted before, or if some of the names are spelt wrong. Clone OPatra Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 sorry if these have been posted before, or if some of the names are spelt wrong. They were posted two posts above you. Besides that, you also must realize that all of those pictures are just cut out off FBTB's Toy Fair coverage pics. Quote
Solscud007 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I like the Luke. However I would have preferred a physical blast shield. Although that would have required an all new helmet mold so I understand the need to print the shield on the head. Quote

Cad Bane Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Just found this on StarWars.com. It's a book about Lego, but I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it. Sorry if this has been posted already, I haven't seen it though. But with all the recent activity, I may have missed it. Edited February 17, 2011 by Cad Bane Quote

It also seems that TLG and Scholastic are doing a LEGO Star Wars series of books. Neat. Quote

CF I'm pretty sure that it's a two sided head which is a relief because that face is a bit too...er...shall we say "cartoon-ish". In fact, a large number of heads are going to be reversible. I am very happy that young Obi-wan is among them. His happy face is awkward, but the other side is pretty good. Lego seems to be increasing the amount of back printing, leg printing, and two-sided head printing this year. Edited February 17, 2011 by Cad Bane Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 3D images, eh? Guess that's the new thing in media nowadays. Personally I think 3D is overrated and overused, but that's a discussion for another topic. In any case, if this 3D is of the type TLG printed in the Club Magazines, it's gonna give me a headache. Though I don't really want to burst your bubble, I must say that we have plenty of images from the recent toy fair. Most of the video uses those pics or ones that came before and are therefore even more preliminary. FBTB has a bunch of the newer images that we've been seeing lately, if you want to check them out.
