Brickus Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Thank you, but there are already plenty of pictures and information in the 2011 picture and rumour topic, and many videos like this are all over you tube. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 anyways the models in the toy fair aren't completed yes? it will be more completed? I doubt it. I'm all but certain the Toy Fair items are final products unless otherwise noted. Quote
Delta 38 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) We already knew that Wald had the Rodian head in a new color - sand green - but it looks like that's not all... Are those ears/things new? I didn't know they could do that with existing heads. I'm assuming it's a completely different mould. I don't think Wald is a significant enough character to warrant a new mould, but that's just me... Edit: just checked my Onaconda Farr minifig. The ear things aren't new, but what is? I'm confused. XimenaPaulina Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Edit: just checked my Onaconda Farr minifig. The ear things aren't new, but what is? I'm confused. I believe he was talking about the highly-detailed head printing of Wald, compared to the less prominent prints in the previous Rodian heads (Farr and Greedo). Look: Quote
MrLestrange Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) there is a lot of rodian lego! and... exacly the same. Edited February 17, 2011 by MrLestrange Quote
Sir von Lego Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) News for 7877 Naboo Starfighter: Today I got the chance to get a look into a retailers catalogue. No image or word for the Hoth Set (perhaps TRU Exclusive then?), but 7877 Naboo Starfighter was in there: Price: 49,99€ It will be a special edition set like 7868 and 7869 before Naboo Fighter is nearly exactly the same as 7660. There are 5 minifigs in there: 2 security droids, R2D2, Naboo Pilot and young Anakin In the picture it seems that there is also a small hangar vehicle included AND ... a destroyer droid (droideka)! Realease Date: August 2011 greetings Hendrik Edited February 17, 2011 by Sir von Lego Quote
j30spiff Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Just found this on StarWars.com. It's a book about Lego, but I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it. Sorry if this has been posted already, I haven't seen it though. But with all the recent activity, I may have missed it. Cool looking book, it'll help me promote reading to my 6yo son. He reads really good but hates doing it. I hope more books like this are soon to follow. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 AND ... a destroyer droid (droideka)! Interesting... The rest of the set seems average, though, and if it's essentially a reissue of the '07 one it's an easy pass. I hope they're improved the droideka design, though, because the one in the MTT couldn't roll and was ugly and disproportionate. Quote

I hope they're improved the droideka design, though, because the one in the MTT couldn't roll and was ugly and disproportionate. I doubt it. With it being the same as the "07" version in Lego Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars Video Game I doubt it will change. However this is good for me because I missed out on the MTT I have never had a chance to get the "07" Droideka so this will be good for me. I think its definite now that Hoth Base is going to be an exclusive (Probably to Toys R US) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I think its definite now that Hoth Base is going to be an exclusive (Probably to Toys R US) I don't know. So far we haven't heard anything about the exclusives for the other stores. Quote
Sir von Lego Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 One more thing: Advent Calendar will cost 29,99€ Quote
Dumbfire Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 If the N-1 is different from the older one that I already own and the Droideka design is nice, I'll get it. Very interested in the Droideka and the Pilot. Quote
Fallenangel Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I wonder when LEGO will realize that the axis of rotation for the Falcon's quad lasers is oriented horizontally, as opposed to vertically... The droideka is something I'm hoping there actually will be a new mold for; the last two brickbuilt renditions just haven't it justice. Strange that I find the older Grievous and Fett minifigures okay, but not the droideka. commanderneyo, if you want an '07 droideka so badly you could probably build it from instructions yourself. I've seen one in person before, and I know it's made up of fairly common pieces (with maybe the exception of the three-pronged piece to which the legs are attached). Quote
The Legonater Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I doubt it. With it being the same as the "07" version in Lego Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars Video Game I doubt it will change. But the game's coming out next month- the sets are coming out in Augest. Quote
legofan24 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Is there any pictures of the naboo starfighter set? Quote

Surfer Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Best to check in the Eurobricks gallery. The link is on the first page of this topic. I just tried there, but there are no prelim. shaak ti picture. Anyone else have an idea? Quote
BrickArtist Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 But the game's coming out next month- the sets are coming out in Augest. Yup, TLG never bases anything of the games, they also don't reveal stuff early with the games. I'm guessing the droideka will be a new design. I think I will be getting the N-1 now. I just can't pass up that lovely pilot, 2 securities(!!), and the droideka. I really hope it's a good design. Quote

Try a quick google search next time though, and you might get an answer more quickly by putting your question in the 'SW questions' topic. Quote
j30spiff Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I really hope the 7877 Naboo Starfighter is a step-up from the previous set. I've always liked the design of this ship and all the MOCs that have been made. There's definitely a lot of potential. I'll just keep my fingers crossed on this one. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I wonder when LEGO will realize that the axis of rotation for the Falcon's quad lasers is oriented horizontally, as opposed to vertically... I think they do realize, it's just that as a play feature the current design works better and looks 'right' to most people. Most people don't even realize that the gunners sit vertically. (which, from our point of view, is even more reason to make it right, but as far as TLG is concerned it works better this way, I think) I consider it a major improvement already that they got the seating arrangement right. The droideka is something I'm hoping there actually will be a new mold for; the last two brickbuilt renditions just haven't it justice. Strange that I find the older Grievous and Fett minifigures okay, but not the droideka. It depends on how they execute it. I think it needs only two new pieces, one of which is specially molded. The specially molded one would be the backplate and 'head', 'cause that's the part that always looks wrong when TLG does it. And the other new piece would be a 1 x 1 with bars around it in a triangle, to get the legs right. I think then everything else could be done fairly well with existing pieces to keep it looking LEGO. Quote
The Legonater Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 The specially molded one would be the backplate and 'head', Definatly- I once tried to make a brick-built droidika, but those two sections just didn't work. It's impossible to do it with current pieces, especially without illegal connections. Quote

Good idea. Not so sure about the triangle-barred piece though, but I see your point. Another possibility may be segments for the backplate, thought that might be too much detail. Given the improved quality of minifigure moulds and the like, I could imagine a new backplate/head mould. That might even make me want to have a Droideka. Quote
Cradok Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I wonder when LEGO will realize that the axis of rotation for the Falcon's quad lasers is oriented horizontally, as opposed to vertically... It's probably because they're horizontal on the filming model, probably an 'at rest' configuration for forward firing. The real question is when are we going to get a LEGO Falcon whose quads pivot to horizontal. Quote
