Fallenangel Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Yup, TLG never bases anything of the games You're forgetting the Rogue Shadow, Sentinel, and TIE Defender which were all ships from video games. (The wings on the Sentinel are not creased like they are in the film version, indicating its video-game origins.) I think the TX-130 was also first featured in a video game, but I'm not sure... I think they do realize, it's just that as a play feature the current design works better and looks 'right' to most people. Most people don't even realize that the gunners sit vertically. (which, from our point of view, is even more reason to make it right, but as far as TLG is concerned it works better this way, I think) I consider it a major improvement already that they got the seating arrangement right. Yeah, I see your point. That is one redeeming trait of this new Falcon. But surely anyone who's seen the movie must know that they really are seated vertically! Eh, all the better that it's so easy to fix (get rid of the turntable ). It depends on how they execute it. I think it needs only two new pieces, one of which is specially molded. The specially molded one would be the backplate and 'head', 'cause that's the part that always looks wrong when TLG does it. And the other new piece would be a 1 x 1 with bars around it in a triangle, to get the legs right. I think then everything else could be done fairly well with existing pieces to keep it looking LEGO. We already have something like the latter, but I would agree about the former. It's probably because they're horizontal on the filming model, probably an 'at rest' configuration for forward firing. The real question is when are we going to get a LEGO Falcon whose quads pivot to horizontal. Excuse me? I see no sign of a horizontal pivot; the quad laser is clearly intended to pivot up and down and from port to starboard. Although it's easy enough to pivot the quads to vertical on the recent renditions (reattach the binoculars - another quick fix). By the way, that's the quad laser from the 5' miniature - you can tell from the detailing on the port docking pod. Interestingly enough, the same area on the 32" model is cleaner (e. g. there's some stuff missing around the large circular structure on the far inner surface). Aren't Falcon studio models fascinating? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I think the TX-130 was also first featured in a video game, but I'm not sure... First appearance was Boba Fett: Crossfire, but all the visual appearances were in video games, and other than the CW game they're all BF games, so it was undoubtedly first seen in Battlefront (I). We already have something like the latter, but I would agree about the former. No, that's a Technic piece that uses static axles. Any attached legs can't move. Bars would allow them to fold up. (inaccurately, but it's better than what the '07 version does [which is nothing]) Quote

I was referring to lego games. They don't reveal minifig features earlier than the sets unveiling/release. For example Maul had an extended lightsabre in the PT LSW game, his fig does not carry one. Brickdoctor Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I was always under the impression it was in the CW game first. Oh, you're right. My bad, I didn't click the link and assumed it was the '08 game, not the old one. So yes, first sighting was the Clone Wars game. Quote

(inaccurately, but it's better than what the '07 version does [which is nothing]) Well then the best alternative would be a ball with handles arranged in a triangle (similar to what they did with the first LEGO droideka). I was referring to lego games. They don't reveal minifig features earlier than the sets unveiling/release. For example Maul had an extended lightsabre in the PT LSW game, his fig does not carry one. Ah... that makes sense. Quote
lego wonkyeye Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I keep seing rumors of there being a Saesee Tiin Starfighter coming out in 2011. I doubt that these are true but last summer wave we did get three exclusive sets, so why not three this time? Quote

BrickArtist Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 maybe 2011/12 winter Don't we usually just get one JSF a year? I thought we already got our 21011 one... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Where? A year or so ago there was a Photoshopped MOC made to look like a set that a bunch of people took to be real, maybe that's what he's talking about. And I know there was some kind of rumor about this set being release this year with the number 7756, but I forgot where that was from. Quote

Like what you see on YouTube? I didn't know people actually believed those. As for 7756, it looks to be the result of some MOC research. Though I must say, that 74-Z certainly looks a lot better than the LEGO one, motorcyle frame notwithstanding. Quote

Its not impossible for a Saesee Tiin starfighter to be made however we can tell from this image that he will be in some sort of space battle soon in an upcoming CW Episode. http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=171138976259183&set=a.109062562466825.4596.107795539260194&theater Quote
starwarsfanatic Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Why is it that Leia's hair has changed to black? It looks horrible. The set with Qui-Gon Jinn in appears to have CW-style faces, which is a pity as I need Qui-Gon Jinn. Oh well, most of these look awesome and I will almost certainly get the Ewok set. Quote

What do you mean? Leia's hair is clearly brown, and all figs in the Sith Infiltrator have dot-eyes. CW-style faces will only appear in CW sets. ~ General Magma Quote

I doubt that these are true but last summer wave we did get three exclusive sets, so why not three this time? I don't think any starfighters have appeared in the show lately, other than Obi-wan's, but they've just done a big UCS version of that. There was also Kit Fisto's back in season 1, but it looked near identical to Ahsoka's. I wouldn't mind if they just threw in some of the random Jedi and made starfighters for them though.. Would be a good way to get Aayla Secura or Shaak Ti, etc.. but so far they've only done them based on the show, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Quote
