lego wonkyeye Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Who would pay $40 for an N-1?! And a $100 Echo Base just wouldn't suffice... it's no Endor bunker, that's for sure. I think it'd have to be at least $150. And Jabba's palace would have to be at least $300 if it were to include a decently sized room with all the minifigures we want in it... Well the Imperial Shuttle and republic dropship sets were over $300 so it would make sense if Jabba's palace was $300. And concerning the N-1, if it comes with the starfighter and a few things from the hangar along with some nice figures and a Droideka, I think $40 wouldn't be that bad of a deal. Quote

I guess I should have added that I was talking about US prices. Both 10212 and 10195 were $250 in the US, 10188 was $400. I suppose with new minifigures and inflation another N-1 would be $40... unless it was smaller than 7660. How big was that, anyway? The N-1 is about 11m so a LEGO rendition should be around 36 studs in length... Quote
AngryChair Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 It appears that they're unloading the last of it now. Get it while you can, this will be a fortune on the resell market. Thanks for the heads up. I feel an overdraft extension calling..! Quote
Follows Closely Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks for the heads up. I feel an overdraft extension calling..! I think you have another year. It is in the spring catalog, and my local LEGO store contact assured me that it has another season. Quote
Apollo VI Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I have a feeling the Naboo Starfighter will be a bigger, meatier version of the 2007 version, kind of like how they re-did General Grievous's Starfighter and the Sith Infiltrator only a few years after their previous versions by making them a little larger. It looks like it could be just a little bit bigger to fit the proper minifig scale. The larger piece count allows them to charge more too, of course. Expect this thing to be at least $50 USD if it includes a hanger/part of a hanger as rumored. And I've always gotten the feeling that Lego wanted to have R2-D2 face forward (like he is supposed to) in the last version but were juuust limited by the scale. The slightly increased scale, along with either some creative engineering or new moulds, will allow an astromech to face forward in the N-1. I also think they'll ditch the spring loaded missile launcher in favor of flick-fires, and they'll probably give it landing gear. Now, will that make this set worth buying for those who already have an N-1? Who knows. The last N-1 was pretty dang good in my opinion. The only thing I didn't like was the spring loaded missile on the bottom, that was pretty ridiculous. This one better blow me away or else I likely won't buy it based on the lack of anything substantially new added. Quote

JCC1004 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 saesee tiin's fighter or the puzzle? Well I would assume that it's Saesee's Starfighter. I would like to see JSFs for every Jedi. The truth is I don't have one of them and if they release one like Saesee's I'd have to get it an want to collect all of them. The puzzle was very easy if I may add. Anyway this isn't the place for sets people want to see. Back on topic, the only N-1 information we have is the picture of the figures, correct? Also I'm curious what all information we have on Echo Base. We only have a rumour of it and nothing else to my knowledge. I'd love to see an Echo Base as the old one is expensive on BL and can be greatly improved on. I suppose with new minifigures and inflation another N-1 would be $40... unless it was smaller than 7660. How big was that, anyway? The N-1 is about 11m so a LEGO rendition should be around 36 studs in length... 7660 is roughly 48 studs long from the front of one of the engines to the tip of back antenna. That is over 10 stubs longer that what you said it should be. Quote
legofan24 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 saesee tiin's fighter or the puzzle? what do you think Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Anyway this isn't the place for sets people want to see. Yup, all wishful thinking should be done here in this separate topic. And if anyone wants to discuss this new Delta 7B of Saesee Tiin, head over to the TCW Season 3 discussion. Quote

Blackknight112 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 In the lego magazin is a alternative build for the jedi shuttle, maybe this means that the alternative models will come back and lego will put instructions online. Watch it here Quote

This one better blow me away or else I likely won't buy it based on the lack of anything substantially new added. Why would they make the N-1 any "meatier" than it already is? Unless they're going to flesh out the bottom, I'd say they did a pretty good job of representing the thinness of the ship. A fat N-1 would just look goofy. The direction that the droid's body faces doesn't really matter, as the body remains hidden inside the ship with only the head sticking out (and apparently the head can "telescope upward"... ) and the LEGO astromech droid body isn't to scale with minifigures. Hopefully, a new droideka will make the set worth it... and perhaps chrome. And a vulture droid sold separately so it won't jack up the price. Well I would assume that it's Saesee's Starfighter. I would like to see JSFs for every Jedi. The truth is I don't have one of them and if they release one like Saesee's I'd have to get it an want to collect all of them. Do they even have customized fighters for every Jedi? I thought they all used the red ones... eh, I guess they will after a few more seasons of The Clone Wars. As long as they aren't all Delta-7Bs... 7660 is roughly 48 studs long from the front of one of the engines to the tip of back antenna. That is over 10 stubs longer that what you said it should be. So it is out of scale! And pretty badly at that. Of course, they probably won't be able to make it smaller because then the people who don't care about scale will complain that it's smaller... Quote

Emperor Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 What's wrong with the 7931..? It's not the worst ship I've seen TLG do! I agree, I see no reasons why anybody would be so "pissed" with 7931 that TLG needs to calm them down... the design of the ship is alright, and as Supersonic said, if you really hate the look of the shuttle, you don't need instructions to make something like this. Surely you must be joking. Even without knowing what the actual thing looks like, I'll say that the gaps and all the exposed studs on the wings (which, being stacked plates, don't look so great from the bottom and seem too blocky) is really visually unappealing, as well as that huge gap around the big gear. The use of the engine piecees for the rear thrusters just looks lazy. And then, of course, there's the terrible price. For some reason, two sets with the same piece count have a huge difference in price. What? Quote
Bricker Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST SAW THE LAST EPISODE OF STAR WARS!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!! All the episodes come together and make it wonderful!!! Vader seeing the way of the Jedi was so beutiful even to such an ugly face he ended up having. But I almost fainted in happyness when I saw him from when he was young. I am so sad for people who died like padmay Amidalla but of course it makes the story so beutiful. I am so sorry Im blabbing all my emotiones here I should know better but I just cant keep them in!!! I am disappointed with the Millemium Falcon but I will buy it. I will make the interior much more appealing for I am not too sucked into realisticness. The little ewok set is a tiny bit overpriced but I KNOW its worth the money for me. My only complaint is seeing how in-accurate the speeder bike is (I know what I said but just look at it!). Its nice and all but its just not correct. The front is absolutely the worst part but the handle bars are nice. I will make the tree my own little thing right there. I will do quite some stuff to it though. The savage speeder thing or watever doesnt attract me. Mostly because I dont like the ship in general but I think LEGO stuck to accuracy nicely and the figs are nice but its just one of those sets you dont really notice. The Republic Frigate is looking good and the figs have really caught my eye(I like the most, which one, guess can you? [The talk is being practiced, it is.]) The ship is really nice too but I will make my own adjustments so it if I get it. Darth Mauls Ship looks great and has lots of great parts but Im not getting it. The studs are fine and I dont understand the "IT HAS TO BE SMOOTH!!! SMOOTH GGGGGGRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!" type of people but I guess studs can be found un appealing but it looks fine. The Geonosioan Starfighter is a definate buy. It has great figs and its a beutiful ship but I will cover up that hole in the center and I dont care how accurate it is Im changing it. The pod racers sets look incredible and its smart how they made transparent technic beams to make it work (the last set like this I remember used sand peices and what ). The figs are pure masterpeices but I wont buy this set (With Alien Conquest and Star Wars being so ausome this year, Ill barely have money for a gum ball (like 25 cents). But this set looks great and although Im not buying it, LEGO. Great job and youve really out done yourself. My only dislike is the thing that holds them up but its ok, Im not buying it anyway. I have one question though, whats with the Naboo Star fighter thing? I saw the premilary minifig images so is it real or not? It looks nice even though weve gotten plenty before (If it comes out it BETTER have chrome peices). Quote

Fallenangel Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 sniiiiiiip Please calm down; your post is hard to read. You can discuss Jedi in the Culture & Multimedia subforum. So how exactly does Vader "[see] the way of the Jedi"? Chucking the Emperor down a chute just confirms what he said in Empire about wanting to rule the galaxy with Luke. You watched them in the wrong order; Jedi is the third film, Sith the last. If you watch them in "chronological" order much of the magic of the Original Trilogy is lost and you're stuck with all this garbage about midi-chlorians and the Chosen One. While it's certainly not a SCREAMING issue to me, I do in fact think that the Scimitar should be a very smooth ship just like everything else in Menace. The Scimitar isn't exactly the most beat-up ship in the saga; on the contrary, it's rather clean. I suppose that the studs on the nose do detract from that, but it's LEGO so I'm not too concerned. A SNOT nose would have been quite interesting though. The N-1 is a confirmed set; it's just that for whatever reason we haven't seen pictures of the actual ship, just the minifigures. Quote
