I have the midis and I love them. There are no news of one for 2011 are there?

No. I too hope there is one, since they're great parts packs. Won't list what I want in this topic, though.

Maybe they are preparing one of those ultra-expensive UCSs that sometimes pop up during the years. Last one was the Falcon, three years ago.

I'm not a fan of the Clone Wars series so... does anyone know if some ship or place has been covered loads of times in the series? Maybe they'll try to capitalize on it by releasing the UCS of that ship or whatever it is. Next February Episode I will return to cinemas all over the world, but it' has already been milked to death (apart from the Amidala minifgure, if I'm not mistaken).

I'm not sure how this follows with the current discussion, but:

- The consensus seems to be that as UCS sets (not 10XXX S@H exclusives, but Ultimate Collector Series) are AFOL-oriented the subjects of such sets will be vessels from the Original Trilogy, so no, I don't believe LEGO is working on a UCS Delta-7B. To my knowledge, there was only one UCS set (again, not a 10XXX S@H exclusive, but an Ultimate Collector Series) that wasn't a ship from the Original Trilogy and it was a disappointment (10026).

- I don't think LEGO has milked The Phantom Menace to its fullest extent because there are a crapload of vehicles and starships in that film which were more or less designed to be made into toys that LEGO hasn't taken advantage of (Mars Guo's pod, for example - yes, many of us want more LEGO podracers).

You know, Sweden said it best (he was referring to Sir Steve's Star Wars Guide forums in this quote, but I think it applies to Eurobricks as well):

Then when I make an more intelligent post about this to start an interesting conversation then the usual god damn "I'm the best, You're the best, He's the best, What sets should I buy?, What sets shouldn't I buy?, What's the piece count of this and that?" boring crap posts everyone seem to have forgotten what they said before and to make matters even worse they don't even read what I just wrote and tell me something I never ever said or wrote.

Uh, what about 10215?

You overlook the UCS 10215 Delta 7 Aethersprite in your statement. It bucks the UCS OT trend so who knows what Lego is planning. Arguably, given its been 12 years since TPM perhaps a subtle shift in consumer demographics means we may be seeing more prequal vessels or sculptures (like 10186 and 10018) being given the UCS treatment in the future. 10215 suggests Lego has considered this scenario....

You make a good point. In the dozen years since The Phantom Menace it is possible that AFOLs would buy more sets from the Prequels, and as many members here have pointed out there are many concepts that would make for impressive UCS sets. Personally I don't think many starships from the Prequels have that iconic status that Original Trilogy vessels seem to have acquired to merit UCS, but that may be just me.

We're of like minds in what you and I consider 'iconic' in the Star Wars universe but if we'd been 12 when TPM was released then perhaps our idea of 'iconic' would be a little different.

AFOL who remember seeing Star Wars in 1977 are a breed which have shifted not only into higher income brackets over the past 10 years but more and more must balance lifestyle choices such as owning a home and raising children with their weakness for Star Wars Lego. Their purse strings may not be quite as versatile as 20 somethings wanting a UCS Venator or Republic Gunship and perhaps 10215 is indicative of these considerations by Lego.

Only six iconic OT designs come to mind (A-Wing, B-Wing, Tie Bomber, AT-AT, Slave 1 and Landspeeder- give or take some minor vehicles of course*) which could yet be released as UCS sets so a mix of OT and PT UCS' is a likely offering in the future especially if TLG are planning to run the license for 5+ years. If all they released were OT UCS' in this time period then we'd fast run out of OT models, alienate an emerging adult market in PT designs and over-saturate the existing AFOL market aged in their 30's and 40's with models they can't afford appearing in too short a time frame for their budgets!

Of course I'm speaking very broadly in terms of demographics which I can only merely speculate about but the release of 10215 (the first 'true' UCS vehicle from the PT) did get me thinking...

*Edit: Opps! Forgot the SSD

I was 13 when TPM came out. I thought it was pretty awful except for Darth Maul. It's not an age issue, the Prequel movies just aren't as good. It's a sad fact. They aren't iconic at all.

TIE fighter, Executor, Home One, Khetanna(sail barge). Not to mention, a UCS Cloud City would sell like hotcakes.

Back on track! I still say that given the set number of Echo Base, were going to get a set exactly like Home One. One side will be the med bay and one side will be the hangar with a snowspeeder. I'd be shocked if it's not like this.

So, based on what everyone feels and thinks here, what do you guys think the odds are of us getting a UCS or a large playset featuring Cloud City or Jabba's Palace? Not necessarily this year but in the next year or two.

Does anyone of you heard about the new UCS Set: Vader's Super Star Destroyer? It should cost around 400 EUR with nearly 4.000 pieces...

And can someone please tell me where I can find 66378 3in1 Pack? (-;

greetings Hendrik

No, we have never heard of that set... do you have a link to your source or where did you get this information?

It sounds more interesting than Jabba's Palace, but 400 €... I'd rather buy the Death Star now

It does make sense that TLG releases a new expensive and big set to replace the DS, though...

No...

That would be one of the sets we've all been wanting, but I too would like to know your source.

Ooh Vader's super star destroyer would be pretty cool. I know it never gets finished in the films but I will finish it for him haha.

edit: I just learned that it did get completed...I guess I always saw it under construction for the most part.

Just to make sure everyone here knows what Vader's Super Star Destroyer would be. The Executor. It would be the large arrow head ship. It was destroyed in Episode VI when it crashed into the Death Star II.

Sir von Lego, give some confirmation on this ASAP. There's no talk of this set yet but I would LOVE them to build it. It deserves the UCS label.

Hi Lego is doing something great but what will we know more in October

We have to wait until October eh ? :cry_sad:

Why ?

Could it have something to do with the re-release of first PT film in 3-D ?

If so could it be a scene from Naboo - like the flight hanger with Darth Maul, etc., ?

May be the brick be with you !

No, but it sounds like it would make an incredible set. Where did you hear about/see it?

What? Is this just a speculation or do you have proof?

Blast, when it comes to LEGO there's nothing I hate more than no conformation. Are you guys sure? And what's your source?

There's never been a more appropriate situation for LEGO_facepalm.gif

Please tell me I'm not the only one who realized he was kidding.

It would be really cool to get this, midi would ok for this as well

IMO, Lego needs another 'bigger than life' WOW kit. A UCS Super Star Destroyer would fit that bill and would be timely as the 30th Anniversary of RotJ comes along in 2013.

PS - I recall having read some story (with actual photos) about the Lego design team having created a Super Star Destroyer several years back. I wonder if they've been sitting on this for awhile?
