pedro Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Thanks for sharing the review of 7964 with us. I own the Radiant VII so the immediate thing that sticks out for me are the similarities in construction... but I do like this weaponised version. The interiors are better than it's predecessor (which I modded) and I absolutely love that little 'hologram' 1x1 round brick, such a nice little touch! I wish I had one of them for my Arquitens MOC! The minifig selection is very good, Eeth Koth is a big win for me as is Wolffe and co. Jury is still out for me on Quinlan Vos's hair-do though... suitable replacement may need to be found! On 7877: Very dynamic box-art... certainly sells it. Another lovely version of the N-1. I may consider buying this one seeing as it's 4th incarnation. Like the red-garbed pilot. The Droideka is over-designed unfortunately. On 7879: Intrigued to see this in the flesh. Minifig selection sounds about right (excluding rebel troopers). Can't help thinking with all these Hoth releases they should have just given justice to this pivotal location in one major set including interiors, shield generator and turrets? Quote
Delta 38 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I'm almost 100% sure. I was staring and counting the number of figures pretty long. Total of 8 figures. Eight figures sounds pretty realistic. The lack of an AT-ST, Snowspeeder or other largish vehicle is good news to me, as they use up pieces that could go towards more expansion of the base. The red Protocol droid sounds nice, but that's the only interesting figure for me. The reviews are also nice. The figures in the Frigate are great, and it looks to be at around the same size as its predecessor. Again, I'm not sure about the price tag, so that'll be low priority for now. Quote
LEGO AFOL Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Wow, I must get that naboo fighter because I missed all previous sets. It has a yellow lable must belimited or special edition. Edited May 22, 2011 by LEGO AFOL Quote
Fallenangel Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 It has a yellow lable must belimited or special edition. Now that you mention it again... I wonder why 7877 isn't another Limited Edition then? The design is essentially that of 7660, and it's certainly not the only way to build one... Quote
MrLestrange Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Sorry if this has been posted already. It probably isn't new... but it's fun to look at! Whoooow!!!! His head is awesome!! Edited May 22, 2011 by MrLestrange Quote
vagrant Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 IMHO, this picture is better: We can see something on it. Quote
Mr Man Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I much prefer this color scheme over the red and orange of the Cruiser. Well the Radiant VII was red because it was meant to be an unarmed diplomatic ship that's why the colour was red. Quote
Bane Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Sorry if this has been posted already. It probably isn't new... but it's fun to look at! IMG You should have noticed that it's tomos picture of his review, linked a few times... ;) IMHO, this picture is better: We can see something on it. Sure, but we're talking about the box art right now. I don't know why some people are so happy about the box. The nice box art will not make me buy a re-release of a set we had in 2007 for a cheaper price. Whatever: our member juniormak made some nice macro shots of the new minifigures.. I especially like Obi-Wan, he really looks like the actor. Watto is a bit too hasbro-like, although he's very detailled. http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/album.php?albumid=1387 Greetings -Bane Edited May 22, 2011 by Bane Quote
Kaitan Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 There was a Leia in Hoth outfit with the last X-Wing Fighter #6212, wasn't there? I'm guessing (and hoping) that the Leia in the new set will look more like my custom Leia - Kaitan Quote
k_peek_2000 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) I am really digging the new N-1 set. Not to sure about the new price tag though. Edited May 22, 2011 by k_peek_2000 Quote
Mr Man Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/album.php?albumid=1387 Bloody Hell This, urgh it needs a blast shield, that is bloody awful , as is This, seriously is he being sick his face is all screwed up, and This is meant to be Liam Neeson . Oh and young Obi, Luke, and Lea look so angry, and is this the year of the double sided heads or what. Quote
Fives Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Those pics of the figs are nice to have. Its upsetting that Leia has Tamina's face. But, Ithink the one fig that surpasses all my expectations is Wolffe! He is amazing! The face print is just the best! The best from the CW at least. Quote
BrickBucket Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I agree nice box art, cool model. But I still boycott anything that came from those terrible prequels and after. Quote
Gregorovich Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Thanks, Bane, for the link to those pictures. I've actually come to like the new Leia. I think that the new head is a lot better than the ugly old one, and the new hairpiece, though unnecessary, is quite nice. I like the new Luke hairpiece a lot, but the face is too angry looking. I think they should have made it dual-sided, one angry one calm. Han is pretty much the same. Ben also looks a bit too stern IMO. Watto is excellent, as he's so detailed. Anakin is good, apart from the face with the goggles, as it's far too cartoony. Young Obi-Wan is okay, but his face looks a little off to me. The little alien that I don't recognise has an excellent head, and is just overall a nice fig. It's nice to get a new Padme, but I wish she had a new outfit. The outfit she's wearing is still good, though, and the hairpiece is very nice. The Hermione face is alright for her, but I would have appreciated a new print. Pananka's skin should be darker, but overall is excellent, and I like the new Qui-Gon. However, I'm not a fan of the new Darth Maul. The previous version was a lot better, IMO. I'm guessing (and hoping) that the Leia in the new set will look more like my custom Leia - I think it will be almost exactly the same, but with the Tamina head, and perhaps a new torso print (though I don't know why they would, the old one is suitable). mutley777 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I did a little digging after reading the hoth base post. Meet R-3PO and yes he was on Hoth! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 IMHO, this picture is better: [snip] We can see something on it. But it doesn't show the box art. That's what we were discussing. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 So has anyone been able to spot him in the film? I'll look when I get the chance, but I'm pretty sure that photo is from the movie. Wookieepedia says he appeared in the movie as well. Quote
StoutFiles Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I'll look when I get the chance, but I'm pretty sure that photo is from the movie. Wookieepedia says he appeared in the movie as well. I've seen him. There are 6 droids in the base that have official names. Other than R2 and Threepio, K-3P0, R-3P0, 2-1B, and FX-7. I'm hoping FX-7 is included. Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I have only been away for five days and so many new reviews and pictures!! The minifigs on the frigate are awesome as well as the art on the Naboo fighter. Other figures are a meh Can't wait to see more soon Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 So has anyone been able to spot him in the film? Maybe an outtake or background shot like the ice cutter from the 2010 rebel BP. On the topic of those 2011 minifigs, I actually prefer the CW ones to the SW ones, sadly I'm not impressed with the OT ones there's something not right about them.....dam, I wouldn't mind having at least a Falcon in my collection....we can only hope that Hoth Base is better in the minifigs department. May the brick be with us all.....always ! Quote

I'm hoping FX-7 is included. Could you provide a clip? I recall having seen all of those droids except for R-3PO (2-1B was obviously with Luke in the scruffy nerfherder scene, K-3PO behind the ion cannon control station, and I think FX-7 near the bacta tank). Oh, and it's nice that they made an effor to make 7964 slimmer than 7665. It will still require extensive modfication to get it thin enough (or a rebuild from the ground up, whichever is more efficient) but overall pretty good. The Wolffe guy has to be one of the creepiest minifigures from The Clone Wars yet - his stubble makes him look like an old man with one eye. Quote
mutley777 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Could you provide a clip? Just under the nose of the X-Wing at 5:24 on this clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6uQ1ROQm0k Quote

I love Hoth, I'll buy anything Hoth. Quote
