The Legonater Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I'ce also noticed this variety in the two troops. I find this most interesting... I do hope they fix they bomb squad guy's. As cool as they are, the more accurate the better. By my estimate, we should be seeing official images in about two or three months. I mean- these are 'officially' realesed in four months. Quote
pedro Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Mandalorians, Clones, Jedi, oh my!!! This looks to be a great line-up here; lots of new minifigures and vehicles can't be wrong! Highlights for me must be the T-6, which I'm intrigued to see in all it's glory. It's almost like a Jedi battlepack with a large model! The figure selection is impressive, especially the inclusion of Shaak Ti who's up there with my favourite Jedi. And then we've got the Bounty Hunter Gunship and the wicked Aurra Sing. Glad to see LEGO got around to creating her minifig likeness. Mandalorians too... welcome surprise there though I hope there'd be some variation between them... we'll see. All in all much more pleased with this line-up than this years earlier releases... keen to see more photos. Saesee Tiin face is a clone troopers face though which is a bummer, hopefully the change it before the final, oh well I love that head mold! Have faith! I'm pretty sure Saesee will get his own face. Delta 38 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) Although I do mind the accuracy issue too, I don't mind the variation in helmets. In fact, I'd prefer it if it did stay that way, because it would have more variety. I don't mind the fact that the white part isn't very diamond-like, either. I can't say the same about the arms, though. That is starting to bug me more and more. One thing I might do after I've got a few of these Clones is swap out the arms and legs for normal white ones to add more variety. Unfortunately, It's not that I can get any... Quick edit: by that, I mean I couldn't get any white legs and arms because I'm not willing to take apart an innocent Clone Trooper. Edited September 3, 2010 by Delta 38 Quote
Cloney Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I don't mind the BS helmets being white, but they should really fix the arm issue. Can't you just change the arms? Just because lego put it that way id doesn't really mean you should keep it like that. Just replace the white arm of the bomb squad trooper with ahsoka's arms....surely a lego star wars collector has at least 2 or 3 ahsokas! :P Quote
Ceroknight Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I don't follow the clone wars but...did obi-wan ever used a green lightsaber? Quote

CommanderR Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I don't follow the clone wars but...did obi-wan ever used a green lightsaber? From what I know I don't think he did. He always used a blue lightsaber. I think that the green lightsaber is a prelim. Quote

Wouldn't you mind if Darth Vader had one arm in white instead of black, just because you could easily change it? I know the photos are still preliminary so they still have time to fix it. Quote
RocketClone Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Thankfully the Clone commando complaint is not a major issue, you can just shave off the fin, and Presto! you got a commando. Quote

TLG has to think about us guys who don't have all the money in the world to spend on Lego. Quote
-JD- Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 You reminded me about something I wanted to say to do with the Commando RocketClone! I wonder if LEGO will make a new head mold? Perhaps without the fin or just an all new helmet? That would be very nice. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Thankfully the Clone commando complaint is not a major issue, you can just shave off the fin, and Presto! you got a commando. I beg to disagree. First, the green clone in the Clone Trooper BP is Eeth Koth's clone troops based on the green markings and they are clearly not Clone Commandos. Second, it's not easy to shave off the fin of the standard clone trooper helmet, and even if you remove the fin, it still wouldn't look like a commando since the shape of a clone commando helmet is different than that of a standard clone. The Legonater Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Something else I just noticed with the bomb squad troops, is that their hips are black when they should be orange. Quote

Probably because it would be cheaper to take a regular CT and just paint it instead of creting it with new parts. Quote

And since to the best of my knowledge there are no current minifigs with white legs and orange hips, they'd have to tell their machines to make new leg assemblies, instead of just using the ones from the current clones. Aure there is- there's commander- oh wait, I changed Cody too, because they couldn't get that right either . I'm I the only one bothered by Vos's dreads? They look more like girl hair than dreads. The Legonater Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Prelims, prelims... It's just, I noticed that most new molds stay the same even through prelims. Unless, I'm wrong . Quote

I really doubt they'd use that lady's hairpiece for Vos. Nowadays, the hairs are much more detailed; not like the generic bowl cuts for short-haired guys and long hair for everyone else. Quote

I agree that with the detailed hairpieces nowadays, it's very likely Vos will get a dreadlocked hair, though the girl's hair for Vos is actually just fine with me. I just hope it is not too detailed like the dreadlocks of the upcoming Capt. Jack Sparrow's fig. Quote
