Brickdoctor Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Btw: Wasn't the Swampspeeder released exclusively via S@H? If so, there is still a little chance that we'll see a small OT set in the beginning of 2011. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter Yeah, it was a 'surprise' March release. But we didn't find out until late, so there's still hope. Quote
commanderneyo Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Yeah, it was a 'surprise' March release. But we didn't find out until late, so there's still hope. Yes your right and while it would be nice to see a ot set, i hope for a new character, re-designed padme(cw), commander gree etc. Quote

The Legonater Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 March? It came out in January like the rest. No, it came out in Feburary. Quote
Destroydacre Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Yeah, it was a 'surprise' March release. But we didn't find out until late, so there's still hope. Yeah, that was the big deal, not that it was an exclusive or anything, but that we didn't find out about it practically until it was available. That was pretty surprising and Lego did a good job at keeping the Swamp Speeder under wraps for as long as they did. It's possible they could pull the same thing with the upcoming 2011 releases, but I'm personally not going to count on it. Not expecting anything and getting surprised is always so much better than wanting a surprise and being left disappointed. Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Well, I'm sure there will be a few sets that we don't know about yet coming in the January wave. And no, I know nothing and can't say anything. Exciting though, isn't it!?!?!?!?!?!? Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Well the swampspeeder was also a TRU exclusive in Oz (hard to find now), which poses the question - which of the sets for 2011 that we know of will be exclusives to TRU and a like ? Hard to find now? I haven't seen it, although I really want it. The same's for the Landspeeder. This is just a minor complaint that I've had for some while, but exactly how will the machine gun in the Mandalorian battle pack stand up? From the looks of it, it's only got two antennae for legs and no base. That means minifigs will need to hold it instead of having a free-standing gun... Quote

Two things.....I was in the right place at a TRU and BigW to get my exclusives. 2. Back on topic, this machine gun device will come with a spare 2x1 antenna so that could go on the downward facing stud to make it a tripod mount. I'm a conformist! ! Quote

Mmm do I (want to) read a contradiction... if you know nothing than there isnt anything to say, haha And agreed this is very exciting. I love suprises so keep'em coming TLC Quote

January wave has always (or atleast in these last years) consisted of 6 sets (like the one we heard about for 2011) and there is no reason for it to be different this time. Cheers Quote

Diaaabo Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 The Swamp Speeder, as well as the Superpack with the BPs, has been wide available in Portugal. You can find it in any TRU. And you always have S@H, I guess. Quote
Aethersprite Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) The V-Wing needs some love. I'm a sucker for small starfighters. I remember in the 2010 thread I was one of the only few who were looking forward to Plo Koon's JSF. The V-Wing looks sexy in black and white, definitely a huge improvement over the original. And it goes very well with this year's Palpatine's Shuttle. I'm surprised at the more obscure ships appearing as sets, though. I myself have only seen a few episodes of CWS2, and they look quite foreign to me. Edited September 17, 2010 by Lockon Stratos Quote

The V-Wing does look very much improved from the previous one. I wasn't able to get the first one, so this will be the perfect chance to finally have one (it's one of the most affordable sets among the batch also). Plus, who wouldn't want that sweet-looking metallic grey astromech and the black pilot? Is it just me, but I think the 2011 first wave sets are much much better than the 2010 first wave. Quote

commanderneyo Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Me too. I also agree and hopefully for august 2011 we dont have as many remakes like about half of this years sets arent remakes again Quote
Rufus Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Is it just me, but I think the 2011 first wave sets are much much better than the 2010 first wave. Hate to be the voice of dissent, but I'd disagree. The 2011 sets are certainly more colourful, but there's not an OT set among them. Of the two sets that have any connection to the movies, only the Naboo set is on screen for more than a fraction of a second. I personally haven't seen an awful lot of the Clone Wars series, so most of these mean little to me; as I've stated in an earlier post, the idea of a whole race of Mandalorians goes smacks of Lucas milking the Fett mystique to extremes. I think Lego are banking on all the OT fans being bankrupt after the UCS Shuttle Still, a bunch of new Jedi isn't to be sniffed at, and I'm hoping for an as-yet-unrevealed OT exclusive. Quote

Yeah I don't like the idea of a massive army of Fetts either. Most of the reason I like the new sets is because of the great new figures. Especially Vos. It's about time we got him. I've already got like three Mocs in mind for him. Edited September 17, 2010 by Masked Builder Quote

Diaaabo Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Now that you mention it, I'm trying to decided whether I prefer 2010 or 2011 Winter sets... this year was pretty good, but some of the 2011 sets look very promising to me. Same for minifigs, we got some really nice ones this year, and next year's batch seem great too. Quote

The Who Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Wow, it's been a while since I've read anything on here. Glad to finally see some rumors of gungans in 2011. Quote
Zzz Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Is it just me, but I think the 2011 first wave sets are much much better than the 2010 first wave. Just you! Landspeeder, Arc 170 and the ESB BPs? Now that's my choice. Even the Freeco and the Tri-Fighter were good sets! For 2011, only V-Wing and Naboo really get me, might get one Mando on BL if he looks like Jango, and from the Clone BP only half of it seems interesting. I'll pass on the CW Jedi, I want only real minifigs! Quote

Anyway, either with the spare antenna I don't think it will be able to support itself very well. Of course, modding it is a possibility. Quote
