sok117 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Interesting that they've changed the name of the green-marked clone to Clone Trooper Commander. I guess he's not even supposed to be a Commando anymore, but which Commander is he styled after? He doesn't look so much like Gree. He is based off one of Locks men, under the command of general Koth. clickey Quote
Ceroknight Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) Thank you for the pictures! The Droid Carrier is amazing, could have included another gun gun though (IMO) Now I get what people mean by the horrible design of the BARC speeder, yes, they should change it The T-6 looks tiny, the fact that only one or two can fit in the cockpit... The rest are amazing except the Halo (just because Im not a CWs fan), love the turret design in the mando pack Edited September 28, 2010 by ceroknight Quote
Ritz Brick Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Is anyone else confused as to why Jar Jard is holding a 1x2 hinge? If that set included a kaduu I'd love it even more. To me, the T-6 shuttle looks like the thing at the back way be able to launch the cockpit off? Maybe. I probably still won't get it Quote
Clone OPatra Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 He is based off one of Locks men, under the command of general Koth. clickey You're quite right! That's an odd choice for LEGO, but I always welcome more not-bland Clones. Now why couldn't they have put Bly in the CTT? Oh well, painted Clones in battlepacks are good too. Quote

The T-6 shuttle cockpit looks like an "Escape Pod". The SNOTed cockpit looks nice, albeit small, but it is to-scale with the rest of the ship. Quote

Jar Jar is definately not a spy well...not the kind I'd want. another thing I noticed on the gungan warrior, his box art is much different from the other picture of him. Which do you think we'll get? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I think it is. Well, some kind of trans-pink or purple. It looks opaque to me. Is that the same shield piece as in Gungan Patrol, or is the Oval Shield a new element? another thing I noticed on the gungan warrior, his box art is much different from the other picture of him. Ritz Brick Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 It looks opaque to me. Is that the same shield piece as in Gungan Patrol, or is the Oval Shield a new element? In one pic its the same shield, and in the minfig lineup pic it appears trans purple. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 In one pic its the same shield, and in the minfig lineup pic it appears trans purple. *slap* Duh, why didn't I see that? Well, the one in the minifig lineup has the new torso print, so it obviously the final (or newer) version. In that case, I'm lovin' the trans-purple shield. And is that tan printing on a blue torso for the droid pilot? I the V-Wing! The Clone BP just keeps looking better and better! It looks like the wings on the V-Wing will rotate though... No, I think it looks like they're going to fold in the same way the old ones did. Quote
Ritz Brick Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 And is that tan printing on a blue torso for the droid pilot? Sure looks like it, its the...4th? Battle Droid Pilot TLC has produced, hopefully they get it right this time Quote
prateek Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 No, I think it looks like they're going to fold in the same way the old ones did. That's what I meant Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I also notice a new blaster design that Sing is holding a pair of, a bit like Han Solo's 25 shot blaster he's so famous for ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! I hope it is, but it might just be the camera angle distorting a standard short blaster. BTW, just how much trouble can you get into for posting these images online? Just wondering, since they happen to be inhabitants of my hard drive, now. That's what I meant Ah, well, no harm done. Personally, I think it's the best solution short of using some bulky Technic to fold them the 'real' way. Besides, it was realistic enough that I assumed the movement was accurately portrayed for a little while. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Yay! More clear pics! I was almost right about the 10 BDs in the Naboo Battle set (I counted 9 on the previous blurry pics). It's also good to know that TLG corrected some of the wrong info on the prelims, like Clone Commander instead of Clone Commando, and removing the Cato helmet off Sugi. Now all we need is to see are the final versions of Saesee, Shaak, and Vos, as the jedi trio still look preliminary. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 You know what I just realized? There's only one type of Mando on the minifig lineup, so we shouldn't be getting multiple types in the BP. It does make one wonder, however, why TLG used plain blue torsos in set pic, even if it is a prelim. Quote

I actually expect that there will only be one type of Mando in the BP, the only variation will be two will have jetpacks while the other two have none. It perfectly makes sense since there is no variation on the Death Watch Mandos (they all freakin' look the same) that we saw in the CW series. Regarding the plain blue torso, maybe they blue printed Mando torso are still in the works when those prelims were made (much like Saesee's clone head and Vos' Boba head). Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I took yet another look at the BARC speeder, and It looked better to me this time than it did before. My main complaint with it still is that the front just looks blocky. I wonder how it would look if the front were only 1 stud wide instead of 2 studs? I believe that would make it MUCH better. Like this one? (below). I do not mean to brag, but I just know the one-stud wide front of the BARC speeder could be done. But I completely understand that TLG is always after playability and stability over accuracy. The BARC is still ok with me, I'd still get multiples of these Clone BPs and just modify them like my previous version. Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Heck, I'd buy 5 if it had this version in it. The only problem with my version is that the front and side air intakes are really hard to do, that's why TLG's version can't get that part the same way. Maybe they should just create this custom air intake part, but I highly doubt that. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 The air intake is possible, too, and take my word for it when I say the air intake uses no illegal connections. You can see it here, since I don't think KmT will be too happy if this turns into a "Show off Your BARC" Thread. Quote

I still say, TLG just make these air intake parts ok? Anyway, enough of my wishful thinking. And sorry for posting my MOC, just trying to illustrate my point, since it's exactly what Mr. Kovacs was referring to with the 1-stud wide BARC front. Quote
Corvus Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I love that Gungan soldier. The new torso print, as well as the trans shield, is amazing. Apart from the blue droids with printing, I'm also seeing two droids with dark tan bodies and tan printing. I really hope that's not a trick of the light. New cockpit on the V-wing. I'm starting to like the green clones more. I'm irritated the bomb squad troopers still have one white arm, though. Sugi is kind of meh. Her hair style just doesn't work well on a mini, and yet the 'bald' approach doesn't work, either. I'm really hoping the Mandos have black heads. I don't like the appearance of a sliver of fleshie showing beneath a helmet... and I've used up all my black heads on my clones. Oh well, off to bricklink. Quote

prateek Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Just sharpie the neck. Turtlenecked Mandos FTW! But it would be accurate, since all Clones' and Mandos' body suits come all the way up to their neck Quote
