Emperor Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Someone before you mentioner the possibility that it was a Sep fighter, actually. Personally, I think it'll be a skeleton minifig floating in space. A plain skeleton? I don't think TLG would call them "space skeleton" just because they're floating in the space, at least they'd have to make some changes, like the color or the head. I think it's one of the many TCW races, first appearing in the 3 season. Plo Koon's/Anakin's JSF had 170/150 pieces, so either Mace's JSF is really really big, or there's some other ship/ring included. The fact that the space skeleton is listed as a mini fig could be a mistake, it would fit just perfectly if the skeleton was a starfighter. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Thank you very much for confirming the Mace Windu's Starfighter set, Sir von Lego! So these are now seven sets - the same number of sets we got in the beginning of this year, too. Consequently the only question is whether there'll be a small exclusive set (like this year's Swamp Speeder) in the beginning of 2011, too. If so, I really hope for an OT set since otherwise all the (only-)OT fans (like me) have to wait until summer to get the first OT set - which would really be bad. Btw: It's strange that the rumor list for the 2011 summer sets didn't already appear. Wasn't it the last years that about one month after the rumor list for the first half of the year sets arrived, the rumor list for hte second half arrived? Klaus-Dieter Quote
Brickdoctor Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 That seems the most logical explanation and my first thought. But since when was CW logical? Maybe it's a giant (or at least large) skeleton. I remember reading about ancient ships that were made from the hollowed-out exoskeletons of even ancient-er giant space wasps. Btw: It's strange that the rumor list for the 2011 summer sets didn't already appear. Wasn't it the last years that about one month after the rumor list for the first half of the year sets arrived, the rumor list for hte second half arrived? Klaus-Dieter Didn't they surface a couple weeks before Chrismas? Quote
Skafte Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Sorry if this has been brought up before, but: The Battle Droids and Tactical Droid do suggest that this set won't be set in space, right? The few things I've seen of CW (please correct me if I'm wrong) usually shows these guys on ground. Other JSFs with enemies are in space, as Ahsoka's with Vulture Droid. Perhaps it's Mace attacking some kind of clanker ground base? As for the Space Skeleton, any guess is good... Remember, this is from LEGO Direct, and they don't always have 100% correct information. I just hope the next piece of leaked information is about a OT set. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Space Skeleton, nothing comes up on google for SW or CW. Maybe, it's meant to be Wat Tambor.....but that's from series one ? If it's a skeleton, it might be a space creature - brick-built with Technic and Bionicle parts. I guess we will just have to wait then eh ? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Someone before you mentioner the possibility that it was a Sep fighter, actually. I asked whether the Space Skeleton could be a new CIS ship a few pages back. I never intended it to be taken as gospel truth. You guys know as much as I do at this time. Why would it be listed under 'Minifigures' if it's a fighter? That is an excellent point. The thing that bugs me is the piece count. It doesn't fit with a Delta 7B, and the thought of a giant set of ribs floating in space doesn't fill me with a desire for this set, either. Especially since Mace's 7B is already mostly white. It doesn't add up. I think we need some prelim pictures, and soon. Quote
General Magma Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 The lack of an astromech droid tends me to believe this could be Windu's Eta-2. Even though it will be a Clone Wars set, something to prove this more right is that the CW series are moving further towards the inclusion of Phase II clonetroopers, and the Eta-2 Jedi Starfighters. I still don't know what's with the so-called "space skeleton", but who knows; it could be a new droid type. I don't think it's a new alien race, unless the finalized version will be called something else. And well, if it's a new race, I'm quite sure it would be named something else - "clone tropper" doesn't sound good either. I'm looking forward to be seeing pics of this and the summer wave. (Or atleast the list, as for the latter one..) ~ General Magma Quote
qui gon jinn Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I think the astromech isn't mentioned because there will be just the dome which is unfortunate. I think the ship will be a Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor as those released in 2005 and 2007 seen in Episode III and not a Delta-7 fighter like Ashoka starfighter and Anakin starfighter respectively released in 2009 and 2008 seen in episode II and the Clone Wars series. Moreover there is 400 parts because there might be a littel base for starship or an hyperdrive booster ring. But it's just my mind Don't hesitated to correct my english Quote

CMP Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) If it's an Eta, I really doubt it has a ring. The Obi-Wan/Kit Fisto fighter came with a ring, and it had 575 pieces. Edited October 7, 2010 by CallMePie Quote

Now that you mention Wat Tambor, I noticed that the part used for the neck apparatus of Cad Cane could be successfully reused for Wat Tambor... could he be that "Space Skeleton"? Ahhhh can't wait for official pics Quote
commanderneyo Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) I feel there are only two explanations for the space skeleton. 1. They have mixed the skeleton up with another theme. 2. It is a normal skeleton like the one that we got in the wampa cave set. I doubt it is wat tambor unless TLG change the name from skeleton to Tambor Edited October 7, 2010 by commanderneyo Quote
Diaaabo Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 But why would a normal skeleton be in space? I know that with Lego anything is possible, but still... Quote

If you read the last page someone said that it is likely to be on the ground hence the reason We get tactical and battle droids instead of Rocket droids.. Quote

But I don't think this set will be set in space it will probably be set on land due to the battle droids and tactical droid and the space skeleton is a mistake Quote
Diaaabo Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Nah I don't think it will be Wat Tambor. I don't really think the Cad Bane neck thing would look good on him Try to imagine it in pearl gray and with the backside to the front. I tried it awhile ago and thought of it. Quote

We are getting a bit off topic now as usual Back on topic I really think this space skeleton is either a mistake or a new creature or CIS starfighter Quote

-JD- Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Maybe it the person means Battle Droid, not Skeleton? If this rumour is true ( ), the Starfighter would have to come with some sort of CIS vehicle to accomodate the Droids. It would be weird to have the rind thingy and some droids on foot... in space!
