I really like the Mace Windu starfighter because It is a bit like the end of seasons one and two mixed together in this set. From season one the staps and tactical droid and from season two the starfighter and Windu's droid.

I agree. Its a perfect combination for me STAP's (which I love) and a Tactical droid with a JSF

From what I found out on the website Emperor got the link to the pic for Windu's fighter, it sounds like the set will be around $55 US, but that makes it nearly $74 NZ dollars which is insane. My guess is it will be around the Swamp speeders price.

Germanys price is 40€, a little more expensive than the Swamp Speeder but still less than 7752 Ahsokas JSF & Vulture Droid. The US price will be robably also between these two.

I though the new AT-ST and AT-RT releases changed a lot from the previous renditions. Which goes back to why LEGO re-hashes some vehicles and not others (like the X-wing).

My bad. In one of the older kids novels whose title escapes me, Dooku flies a Mobquet speeder bike during the clone wars. For some reason I always assumed it was the speeder seen in AotC.

The starfighter set is looking awesome for every reason except the starfighter! The tactical droid, Mace's droid, and the multitude of small vehicles make this a great set! I can't wait for clearer pics of all of the sets too emerge.

There's an unusual amount of small vehicles in this set. I don't see why LEGO can't just sell the STAPs separately and use the pricetag as an excuse to make a decent Delta-7B. It makes sense if there are more people like Mr Man who just want the little vehicles.

I hope we don't. I hate it when any droid with a prefix after 'R4' appears in the prequels, especially since the R7 series was supposedly developed just for the New Republic's E-wing starfighter. But I guess that's not TLG's fault.

R5s were made in the 'rise of the empire' era and droids like mace windu's R8-B7, were earlier models with R8 designations(wookiepedia )

Yeah I think we'll get R8-B7, there's no reason why we won't get it. Though strangely enough, as badass as Mace is, this R8 has got to be one of the lamest astromechs they've shown in the CW series, as it only appeared briefly and quickly got destoyed by a Gundark in that episode. Heck, even Ahsoka's R7-A7 and Plo's brown astromech were sturdier and more competent. But I do agree, R8's color scheme is better than the starfighter itself.

Yea A STAP set that 2 STAPS and Two Droids would be great like the little sets TLG used to make

If all you guys want is the STAP, just build your own. They don't use any rare pieces. So far as I know, all the parts except the B1s are available in the online PaB store.

Of course, then there are the minifigs. But then you could always buy them on Bricklink, right?

Although we've seen the starfighter frequently with only minor differences and although it has a fairly plain colour scheme, I'm still happy with it. The colour scheme can't be helped if it's official, so it doesn't matter much to me.

Plus, we get a new astromech! It does appear to be R8-B7 after comparing images. Combined with the Imperial V-Wing, I'll have seven astromechs altogether.

Looks good, though I find it odd why'd TLC package Mace's JSF with some droids and vehicles. I guess plain JSFs are too boring. Not a fan of the JSF, everything else looks great though. I'd very much rather get Plo Koon's JSF over this one, but I'll wait for more pics till I decide.

There shoupd be no excuse for not having BDs after the release of the Battle of Naboo set. Me, I go the MTT anr sid droid BPs from '07, and I still want more.

Yeah it does seem it has become a trend that TLG releases a couple of new astromechs per year. This year we got R4-P44 (ARC-170) and R7-D4 (Plo's), and next year we'll get R8-B7 (Mace's) and R2-Q2 (V-Wing). It's really a good way to collect astromechs since they come in relatively affordable sets. Now all we need is a special edition R2-KT...
