Brickdoctor Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 You missed something. UCS + Lobot= UCS cloud city EDIT: This reply was the 1999th reply on this topic I shall make it an even 2,000. I CAN'T WAIT! I just think that it will be system scale, like the UCS Shuttle, since a UCS-scale cloud city would probably cost in the 4 digits. Quote
General Magma Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) You missed something. UCS + Lobot= UCS cloud city Woops, yeah, that was what I forgot to add but was meant to. Hopefully I'll be able to get all sets I want - the new ones, some less recent ones and the upcoming ones... Takes some pretty long time before they're discontinued luckily, though. Looking forward to prelim pics, I'm also wondering what the transparent pieces will be. I just can't think of anything transparent that has to do with Star Wars, that hasn't been released yet in transparent - Besides Force ghosts and pieces in other colors of trans, i.e. trans-blue etc. Sadly the guy already said there wouldn't be transparent minifigs. ~ General Magma Edited October 18, 2010 by General Magma Quote
StoutFiles Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 At first I thought it'd be a bust-style design, which might make sense with him having an 'interesting' head. It'd be strange for it to be such a minor character, though. Good thinking. That could well be it. The UCS Lobot was just a joke given the context, he was naming something that will never be made. Although, we can always hope it was a subtle hint that Lobot is in one of the future sets.... Quote

If 'UCS' is correct, it'll probably be bigger than, say, the Battle Of Endor and more like the Death Star. Quote

Cloud City is my favorite place in all the movies so I don't want a half-assed version, they need to go all out. All the rooms of the original set plus the prison, bedroom, and torture room. Possibly a spot underneath the set where Luke can drop out from and catch the railing under the city. Put some walls between rooms like the Death Star so it isn't one big clusterf**k. If you're going to make Cloud City, do it right! Edited October 18, 2010 by StoutFiles Quote

No I made the 1999th reply the first post does not count as a reply but yay I made the 2000 th post. Back on Topic I really hope the battle of geonosis set comes with Jet Ki-Adi-Mundi , Flame Trooper or New Luminara. Quote
Artizan Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 i think(no, am pretty sure about it) that the transparent piece will be the gungan warrior's shield, which is meh... they include a transparent shield, but no kaadus? i already have dozens of jar jars... Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I have a theory about the claimed Geonosis/ Endor battlepacks, if they actually do exist at all: I don't know if anyone remembers, but wasn't the original name for the two $25 sets last summer (the Hoth thing with a tauntaun and the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid) like "Army Builders" or something along those lines? I think that was the subtitle on Lego.com... Could these 'battle packs' actually be another pair of $25 sets? I think two more battlepacks are unlikely since: a) There are usually 2 battlepacks per year, in the winter b) They are almost always from the same movie/ genre of star wars Feel free to shut me down on this one, it's just an idea Quote

Maybe that the "pack" thing was a typo and that it's more like Echo Base and the Tank Droid, like you said. That makes me think that it could be real. As for the frigate, could it be the one in Brain Invaders episode instead of the Pelta Class frigate because of the Geonosis sets. Quote

Delta 38 Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I think the transparent piece might just be the Gungan energy shield. I was thinking that as well. Now I'm just trying to figure out what the sets and minifigs on the table are. One thing though... he mentioned at least one Original Trilogy set. I don't believe there are any in the first wave (does the Imperial V-Wing count?). It's possible one of these recent lists could have grains of truth in them. Excitement. Quote

Corvus Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 That was a Consular, right? I'd prefer a Consular over a Pelta, by far. Well, we've already had a Consular. The Ep. I one, of course, but personally I'd prefer to see something new come out, not just a recolor. But, of course, that's just my opinion, as I think the Pelta is just such a neat little ship. Quote

Here's two of the sets sitting on my desk as I work on a storyboard. Well, it's the best I can do. I actually realized that I forgot to blur out the new mini-figures, but even if you zoom in on them, you can't figure out what they are. Unless you have one of those movie-computers where you say "Zoom in. Enhance" and it'll show you. Brickdoctor Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I saw that, too. Interesingly, someone on the FBTb forum mentioned that Greg dropped hits as to sandcrawlers and a lars homestead a while back- maybe that dude in the Dutch forum is right. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Thank you very much for this link to that conversation over at fbtb, commanderneyo! I hope nobody still believes we're getting a UCS Lobot. But I do. No, there surely will be neither an UCS Lobot nor an UCS Cloud City Car since both play only a subordinate role in episode six. And an UCS Cloud City surely won't happen? How should it be designed that it stands feast with its thinnest part downstairs and its biggest part upstairs? - You'd need a frame to hold it and then it would surely not look good. And who would buy it? - Surely only a minority. If there'll be anything which has to do with Cloud City in 2011, it for sure will be a huge Cloud City playset similar to the 10188 Death Star. I saw that, too. Interesingly, someone on the FBTb forum mentioned that Greg dropped hits as to sandcrawlers and a lars homestead a while back- maybe that dude in the Dutch forum is right. I'm very sceptical about that, Brickdoctor. Since the new carbonite mold, the new Boba minifigure and the new Han minifigure were released this year, it's very likely that TLG will release a set with them included already next year and won't wait minimum until 2012. And two (huge) OT exclusives in one and the same year are imo absolutely excluded. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Zzz Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Greg probably got the droid carrier (left in the pic) and the T-6 shuttle (middle of pic) plus another set of the January wave. I think the clone BP. The colours of the blurred parts tell the left model is smaller and brownish, the other one has white and is bigger. The minifigs you can see on the desk, there are battle droids, you may see a clone with one different coloured arm, and probably there is a Shaak-Ti close by. The sets he got are all January releases, hence the fact he said before there are no OT sets. The rumored Sandcrawler was made by another member (wishful thinking) on fbtb and all Greg said about any other sets besides the January wave is: he remembers seeing a prelim of ONE OT set. And he refers to it as "UCS Lobot". It is probably the April or May UCS Exclusive (like the AT-OT and dropship). No word about a second wave here. And he wouldn't be wise to do that, since there are no leaks yet. That's also why I think a possible UCS Cloud City will be in the first half of 2011. (he obviously refered to new clear parts by having Gungan shields. And there is no possible way - we discussed it already - to make clear minifig parts.) Quote
General Magma Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) Something is telling me... that we'll be getting Jawas and Tusken Raiders. That would be awesome, but nothing has been proven yet. Looks like the two could either be Geonosis sets or Tatooine sets. Not very long til we'll know. ~ General Magma EDIT: On the desk pic of his, I found Yoda and a clonetrooper with red markings. Either that or it's Commander Cody with orange markings. There are also a few brown and black minifigs.. 99% sure there was a Jawa. Maybe we're getting a new sandcrawler... Edited October 19, 2010 by General Magma Quote

It would be funny if we got a new sandcrawler considering everyone here told me that it was incredibly unlikely they'd make a new one. Ugh, I guess I'll hold off getting one now to see if they make one. What would be even better though is if they make Lars homestead and throw in a Jawa, tusken raider, and Bantha. All this UCS Cloud City stuff is getting me too excited, hopefully he comes clean soon on whether the Lobot quip was a clue or just general bs. Quote
Supersonic Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 The big white/red thing could be a republic frigate, right? He said he has summer 2011 sets, not just those from the january wave. The size seems about right. The clone on the left is probably Cody. The only question is whether he actually belongs to one of the sets. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 You guys are impressive, it's either you have Superman's infrared X-ray vision or you have image enhancing softwares. I can't even see a thing in those blurred boxes! Anyways, assuming the predictions are correct, a Lars homestead will be pretty interesting since it'll be a new set and not just a remake like the Sandcrawler or a Cloud City. Though an updated Cloud City seems to be a popular choice among fans' wishlists for the longest time so it's highly probable it'll be part of the 2011 line-up. And a UCS Lobot? Highly doubt it. Why would TLG make a UCS of very minor character? Quote
