Tyrann Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Hello all. First time posting here. (And forgive me if it's in the wrong section) Just wanted to show off my recent restoration project. The Canada Post Truck (set 107). I've come to learn it was released only in Canada at Post Offices and has come to be nearly extinct and impossible to find. Was given to me by my grandmother when I was very little. And I've just recently finished putting it all back together with all of the original parts as near as I can tell. Let me know what you think. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Great restoration 'Tyrann' - interesting set - I had to go to Brickset to see it's box art - very well done and you've used most of the original parts by the looks of it ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Fugazi Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Welcome to Eurobricks Tyrann! Veeery nice truck, I love the design and the printed bricks! Thanks for sharing, you're quite lucky to have one. One small thing: the original driver's hat appears to be black? (picture from Peeron) Quote
Tyrann Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 One small thing: the original driver's hat appears to be black? Thanks for the welcomes. And you appear to be right. Will have to to try to find the correct hat. Quote
tulatin Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Thanks for the welcomes. And you appear to be right. Will have to to try to find the correct hat. I was given one of these by my Grandmother when I was young too; I wasn't all too into it at the time, but looking back, it's such a cute little set. It's a shame that my Lego was passed on to a young, young cousin. But considering he has a wealth of pirates sets, and the Airport Shuttle, I hope he never wants. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Lovely classic set, nice job on the restoration Tyrann. I like the simple and thick outlines of the torso print - truly classic. Quote
LuxorV Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Nice Classic-Town set, and nice restoration of it. Thanks for sharing, Tyrann. P.S. - Could you please reduce the pics size to 800 pixels maximum, as by our Guidelines? Thank you. Quote
Tycho McKorley Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 What a cute truck! I think you've done a great job here. Seeing it really takes me back to the years I lived in Toronto. Quote
