Posted August 9, 201014 yr Hi I have been following these boards for the last few years and have been quietly working on my table town (called Legolia - population 204 minifigs)) I have just completed stage one of the elevated railway system so thought I would share it with everyone. More pictures of the whole town in next few days once I have tidied up some of the mess. August 9, 201014 yr That is one pretty nice layout of a city. Are any of the vehicles/buildings in the city custom?
August 9, 201014 yr It looks like a great city but the tracks look like they would be pretty unstable, especially around the bends when the train goes over them. Firstly I'd double up on the support beams to have one on either side of the track, that way it won't wobble either way. As for the bends, that might need something constucted across the length of the road beneath it. Your elevated track reminds me of a beautiful set sitting in my cupboard:
August 9, 201014 yr Very nice city and railway network 'diablorouge' - any MOC's there ? I'm a conformist! !

I agree and that is because I also created an elevated rail and as time progressed my supports became larger. Here are some of my pics from Brickworld to help you out. I do have to say the new passenger train as an elevated rail train looks nice.
August 9, 201014 yr Great work on the elevated train and your city looks really nice too. I like the way the harbor is coming together. Keep up the good work. -Davey

I do have to say the new passenger train as an elevated rail train looks nice. I remember seeing this layout there, I really liked that train, wasn't there a guy with PF trains. Your Train Station was very big and detailed. If i wasn'tr mistaken this was in the....uh....oh god I forgot the room, it was in the main ballroom. If you walked around the ballrooms I had a 2 wide layout in the batanic Ballroom. Plan on being back at BW 2011? See you there, hopefully.
August 10, 201014 yr Author That is one pretty nice layout of a city. Are any of the vehicles/buildings in the city custom? Thanks, no custom vehicles, I only use official Lego design vehicles. I try to keep the town original as possible as well and only slightly mod somne of the buidlings and features. Thanks for all your comments and tips. The supports may look like the track may wobble and that the train would slow down at the bends but in actaul fact the track is really stable. This is because after every 4 sigle supports there is a double support and there are also two stations that are built on a solid platform. Once the track is all connected it became very sturdy and doesn't move at all when the train runs around. The train does slow down a wee bit at the bends but not bad at all. More pictures in detail of the whole of Legolia once I have cleaned it up a bit.
