SpiderSpaceman Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) belville has just been discontinued ok, I mean as far as getting boatloads of rare parts out of advent calendars, that's gonna be a missed opportunity but I think most people agree that belville was second rate, too many huge chunk parts, and aimed at a target audience that didn't want it Edited November 12, 2010 by SpiderSpaceman Quote
jonwil Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Police van is a MUST BUY for me (new windscreen in trans-lt-blue will be PERFECT for various car and truck designs and I hope I can get more than one without spending a fortune. Police fig pack is definatly a must buy, crowbar, new dog, new backpack, new criminal shirt with jacket, ATM. Police station is a must buy, far too many cool things not to buy one. White bike, more blue windows, new grille piece (that matches the old door grille but is fixed) plus all those bits that say "police" in exactly the same lettering as the last police station (which means they will match if I build more police MOCs) Dog Squad van and Police Truck are the big letdowns here. Why are so many civilian cars in LEGO City red? (I am sure TLG has focus group testing that shows that "kids like red sports cars more than they like sports cars in other colors"). Police helicopter is also a bit of a let down, it looks like the helicopter from the heli and limo set only in police colors and slightly larger in some places mixed with a yellow/black version of the little pickup truck from the most recent garage set So for me, the police van, fig pack and police station (in that order) are on my wishlist :) Quote
Mirandir Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) I have a feeling that it's going to be like Paradisa, Just because belville has just been discontinued I was under the impression that Belville will be getting new sets next year. But I'm not 100% sure about that though. Regarding the girly minfig theme it's said to include beutiful houses. Haven't seen any pictures yet but we can all guess what colorscheme it'll have... Also i've been hearing that the theme may be pushed back to 2012... Edited November 12, 2010 by Mirandir Quote
Bricks2000 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 These sets are a super WIN! Police helicopter is also a bit of a let down, it looks like the helicopter from the heli and limo set only in police colors and slightly larger in some places mixed with a yellow/black version of the little pickup truck from the most recent garage set HEY! my friend owns that set and it was actually different! LordVuppy Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 That police station looks good unlike previous ones that all looked the same. Quote
Delta 38 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Great, as before. I'm starting to have second thoughts about getting the dog car because it doesn't have a prisoner minifig, which I am in need of. Either way, nice images, though they have stayed mostly the same. I'd like to see clearer images of the space subtheme though. Quote
Baylego Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I am not a big fan of City, but I am liking the new set in the last picture for the fact that it has lots of new elements in one pretty small set. Quote
peterab Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 That prison van is more like a cool multipurpose police vehicle.....oh, the MODing/MOCing potential ! I have to agree with you LT, that van looks like it has lots of potential, and it come with a yellow crate and an orange dirt bike, and the new sack piece. The only way it could get better is if it includes the new crow bar. The more I think about it the more likely I'm going to get it. I also like the new helicopter, I think the colouring would make for a good paramedic vehicle, just add some star of life stickers and mod it for stretcher access and Bobs your Auntie. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) Thank you very much for these new and clear pics, The Soup Nazi and Darth Jar Jar! The space van looks great! I really like its design. And the launch pad isn't bad, too. The police minifigure collection is ok. But I miss the new police officer in there. The police truck is much too huge and wide and includes to few interior for its overdimensional inside. The police helicopter looks good. It's only a pity that the pick-up is in yellow and has no clack to its cargo bay. The prison transport looks amazing and includes a lot of playbility and nice, usefull and realistic elements. That police station looks good unlike previous ones that all looked the same. I completely agree with you, LordVuppy! The new police station looks really authentic and much more like a real building which fits very well in every bigger city. What I really dislike about the whole City-2011 is that TLG is getting more and more greedy, year by year in offering us minifigs per set. The van I've mentioned has just ONE minifigure. Concerning the space van I have to disagree with you, Night City Dream. Which second minifig would fit in this set? Imo a second minifig would be out of place there. But concerning the rest of the City sets I completely agree with you, Night City Dream. It's really a pity that TLG releases a passenger train which includes only two passengers. And in general there are much too few minifigs in teh bigger sets - only the huge exclusive sets get 7 or eight minfigs (which isn't much for the size of these sets). I was under the impression that Belville will be getting new sets next year. But I'm not 100% sure about that though. Regarding the girly minfig theme it's said to include beutiful houses. Haven't seen any pictures yet but we can all guess what colorscheme it'll have... Also i've been hearing that the theme may be pushed back to 2012... Thank you very much for this information, Mirandir! It shows promise that the new girly minifigs theme will have beautiful houses! Of course I'd prefer houses which aren't in purple or pink. On the other hand it would be great to get another family house - and today all colors are used for houses. The thing which is for me more important than the color is how these houses will look like: If they look very realistic and include a decent interior, then I even can cope with them being in purple or violet. It would be a pity if they push it back to 2012. Klaus-Dieter Edited November 13, 2010 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 Does someone remember when we got the pic for this year's 3222 Helicopter And Limousine set? This would then supposably even be the time this/next year when we'll get a picture of 3661. I'm really excited what 3661 will include apart from the supposable armoured van. Hopefully there even will be a bank included (which I highly doubt) and hopefully the armoured van will look differently in contrast to the police car (and not including blue/red lights and not just be white-blue but only with a "security" sticker on it). What do you think? XimenaPaulina Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 It's nice to see a Police minifig collection featuring two cops, two goons, and a new K-9 dog design. However the Police trick awfully looks like a recycled version of the previous one. Quote

DRM Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 The Police station looks quite nice. I very much like the dog van. I am less impressed with the baseball cap police man, that would not last long in my collection as I prefer a more formal officer. Maybe I am simply old fashioned. I have never really understood the large police lorry so am unlikely to get this version of it either. My eldest son, however, is desperate for it so I will have to buy him off with a different set. Which brings us back to the police station. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I'm impressed with how creative the dog car seems to be. It's five studs wide (!) in the back, something we rarely see in official sets. Also, did anyone else notice that the "Police" sticker on the roof also has a silhouette of the new dog's face on it? I thought that was kind of cute. Still looking forward to new Space pictures, but I guess we'll have to wait on those. Quote
Rick Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I'm impressed with how creative the dog car seems to be. It's five studs wide (!) in the back, something we rarely see in official sets. While it's not really my favorite design, that feature definitely stands out and it certainly is a nice development that TLG will make odd studs widths where appropriate (and not too costly presumably). WhiteFang Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Apart from the Police Station, I find the rest of the new Police sets pretty good, especially if you happens not to own any Police sets. I could love to get hold of some of the smaller sets and even the helicopter too, just to put the fire helicopter and the limousine helicopter side by side. Quote
buddy Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 These new Police sets look great! I'll probably get all of them but the police station. ~buddy~ Quote
Captain Becker Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I wish at there could have been some Fire sets too but oh well, next year then. Im probably getting only one set because 2011 is gonna be LEGO rich year for me, so i can buy everything Theres so many cool new sets and lines, but so little money. Btw, anyone knows if there will be another Modular building in 2011? Captain Becker Quote
Aanchir Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Not a set per se, but check out this glorious police version of the already-released minifig flashlight/torch! Quote
kohhu Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 TRU in Frisco, TX has the police mini fig set, the new police boat and the K9 truck in stock! just picked them up...looks like they had room for another polcie set, but shelf was empty. Still had the old command center truck and HQ though. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Could you please do a review on those sets? Thanks! Quote
