Mrlegoninja Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 just wondering sorry if it dose not belong here but brickapedia says 2012 will bring a hospital also just add city hall news truck and helicopter again also news station I doubt they are legit. News doesn't come 2 years before the release date. But if they are legit, count me in! Quote
exon_from_youtube Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I doubt they are legit. News doesn't come 2 years before the release date. But if they are legit, count me in! Me too... I was going to buy the hospital that was sold about three years ago, because I need one and even the old one had some unique parts in it... I was going to buy two of them actually for a combine mod for even a better full wall look. but if this is true I will wait and just make a volunteer EMT service station (easy to make and combine next to fire dept.) until the real hospital come to be Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Its not exactly city but according to Dragonator the new modular building will be a pet shop. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Okay, my turn and this is from a true Lego source....later next year a LARGE set in the winter toy shop/bakery series....but sadly my source only told me it was large and no other details, plus though unrelated to city, Lego games will be made to join together to make super games. When I get more details I'll post them. Keep on waiting for 2011. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 Okay, my turn and this is from a true Lego source....later next year a LARGE set in the winter toy shop/bakery series....but sadly my source only told me it was large and no other details Thank you very much for this information, lightningtiger! "Large" depends on which you understand under large - for one already 10199 and 10216 are large, for others only something in a size similar to the Death Star is large. But when we take "large" as large, then I'd understand under this a new Winter set that is larger than 10199 or 10216. And so I'd bet there'll be a Winter Train Station with Winter Train. It's imo the most supposable set we could go for the Winter theme next year anyway since a candy shop would be (thematical and temporal) too near to the bakery (and a pharmacy, town hall or cafe are very supposable not that demanded than a train with station). What do you think? Klaus-Dieter Quote

Jargo Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 just wondering sorry if it dose not belong here but brickapedia says 2012 will bring a hospital also just add city hall news truck and helicopter again also news station A hospital is bound to happen sooner or later given that emergency service are the baseline of city sets. city hall would make a good modular set but I can't see it being spectacular in the regular city sets line-up. Now the news team sets sound like a good idea. I'm going to be adding a news team to my city layout at some point and would welcome a tv station and news van. be nice if there was a new camera accessory too. However, I won't get my hopes up for any of these. the ideas are nice though. Quote

Fugazi Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Hmm dubious, as many of those set numbers have been used before. Besides, isn't it too early for 2012 info to leak out? Do you have a link? Quote

What do you think? I was thinking the same thing... either a Winter Train or 'The North Pole.' Either way it's a win-win. Even having just the Bakery and the Toy Shop under the tree with all of their little add-ons is a great example of how Lego can conquer the whole 'Holiday Village' business that really has become a big deal, at least here in the States. Klaus-Dieter Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) just wondering sorry if it dose not belong here but brickapedia says 2012 will bring a hospital also just add city hall news truck and helicopter again also news station This is the list of 2012 sets from Brickipedia. [...] Do you think there true ? Thank you very much for this information, mathewos and The Red Brick! Strange. When I go to Brickipedia and search for 2012, there are no sets listed. That there are set numbers which were already used is today common since there is somewhen a point when TLG doesn't have got any set numbers below 10xxx left. The hospital sets sound realistic. We haven't had a Hospital theme since 2006 - so after 6 years a comeback is supposable. As for the TV sets: I'd highly welcome them! But I highly doubt that we'll get any. On the other hand: If someone told me before August that we'll get some Space Port sets next year, I would have said no, too. And I bet that AFOLs as well as JFOLs would like some TV sets. Apart from that TLG has to release minimum one new theme in 2012 anyway (in Jan. there surely will be again Construction Site, but there are then again the spring wave and the summer wave). As for the Town Hall: It's very unsupposably that TLG is going to release such a set as a non-exclusive (and even non-CC-styled) set. On the other hand it does not necessarily mean that in this set only a town hall will be included. Perhaps it might be some sort of new 7641 with town hall and a shop or kiosk. And keep even in mind that many of the current 5xxx sets are Duplo. So if the rumors on the TV theme are real, these would very supposably be Duplo sets. But at the moment I think it's far too early to speculate. To summarize: All of these rumors sound realistic. And I really would welcome a new Hospital and a TV theme - that would be amazing! But there have been enough rumors of people in the past you had fun to tell us lies. And who should (apart from some few people from TLG) have already now this information and even the set names and numbers? So let's wait til we get confirmation of a more reliable source. I completely agree with you, Mr. Elijah Timms! I only hope that - if TLG releases a winter train with station in 2011 - this won't be the end of the Winter theme - but that TLG after that releases again some Winter houses and sets. Fugazi Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Strange. When I go to Brickipedia and search for 2012, there are no sets listed. They have been removed. Probably a prank. That there are set numbers which were already used is today common since there is somewhen a point when TLG doesn't have got any set numbers below 10xxx left. True, it does happen occasionally, but there are plenty of 4 digit set numbers left. So far only 3 sets planned for 2011 reuse old numbers (Star Wars 7929-7930-7931) and if I'm not mistaken only one did so in 2010 out of 150+ sets (the 620 Large Blue Baseplate). So it's not really a common thing. Quote
escortmad79 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 why new police set is not available in uk..... :( It's not available YET (Take it you looked at S@H UK?), it will be released here once it arrives in the UK Quote
Rick Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Re-using set numbers has been done before, especially with sets that were only released in Europe or the U.S., 6075 and 6375 come to mind. But it certainly has not occurred recently to my knowledge. Furthermore, whereas they are probably designing for 2012 already, I doubt TLG is at the point where set numbers and names are finalized. I for one am really glad they've gone this route. I had posted about this a number of years ago on the LEGO bulletin boards, wondering WHY they weren't doing something like this. Now, if they'd just listen closer and do something similar for HALLOWEEN! (yeah, I know they did those cheezy sets this year but, I'm talking full-on 'haunted house', 'graveyard', etc., etc.) Quote
David Thomsen Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) Its not exactly city but according to Dragonator the new modular building will be a pet shop. Is this being discussed in another thread? I find it odd that I can't find anyone talking about this modular pet shop anywhere on Eurobricks. I'm beginning to wonder if it was discredited and I just hadn't noticed. I look forward to each year's modular building more than any other Lego set, so I'm keen to hear any news about it, even if it's just a colour scheme or some information about the shape. Edit: If they have a Winter Train, I hope they don't include a motor with it. That would make it too expensive. A train, a platform and a circular track would be fine with me, and alternative building instructions for anyone who wants to pay the extra for a motor. Edited December 2, 2010 by David Thomsen Quote

exon_from_youtube Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 as for a TV set they could pull it off.... think indaglow back lit watches.... It does not need to be detailed or have a lot of frames... 3 frames flashing ......make it about the size two 2x4 bricks stacked and what should be big enuff to hold the battery and circuit board.... That would be the scale size of a 50 inch plasma TV.... If lego is making a LED 2x4 brick already, they can pull this off as well.... this would be the crazy version Quote
Cancerkitty Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Now, if they'd just listen closer and do something similar for HALLOWEEN! Christmas is great and I really enjoy it but, Halloween rocks my world! Combine Halloween with a decent LEGO theme and IMO, you've got a match made in heaven. Quote
