Is this being discussed in another thread? I find it odd that I can't find anyone talking about this modular pet shop anywhere on Eurobricks. I'm beginning to wonder if it was discredited and I just hadn't noticed.

I look forward to each year's modular building more than any other Lego set, so I'm keen to hear any news about it, even if it's just a colour scheme or some information about the shape.

Edit: If they have a Winter Train, I hope they don't include a motor with it. That would make it too expensive. A train, a platform and a circular track would be fine with me, and alternative building instructions for anyone who wants to pay the extra for a motor.

This is confirmed?

About the next big set in Winter Village. First I was thinking church, but came to the conclusion Lego don't wanna get involved in religion, wich is good, because all religions, exept the lego religion we are apart of, sucks big time.

How about an ski lift or cabin lift? (or whatever it's called) It would be awesome an it is more winter than anything! :classic:

WINTER THEME PREDICTION #1:

There is NO WAY this line will conclude in 2011. There's just too many possibilities, too many classic sets waiting to happen.

WINTER THEME PREDICTION #2:

We'll see a reindeer mold in the next two years, hopefully in a killer set featuring all eight (or even nine) deer and a sleigh full of toys.

WINTER THEME PREDICTION #3:

As much as I'd like to see it, we probably will not get an old stone church, complete with a minifig Nativity scene. Probably the one I'd like the most, but I just can't see TLG breaking its own rules regarding religion.

WINTER THEME PREDICTION #4:

I envision a beautiful scene beneath my tree several years from now featuring large buildings (Toy Shop, Bakery), smaller scenes (ice rink, lamppost and bench), and a great little train running around the entire thing. i.e. I WILL KEEP BUYING THESE AS LONG AS TLG KEEPS PRODUCING THEM.

This conversation seems to be veering off topic, and if so I apologize...

Thank you for that insightful comment. Religion is a touchy subject, this is why both Lego and this forum prefer to avoid any mention, it helps prevent arguments.

To keep our communtity a happy and cohesive place, please refrain from commenting is such a manner in future.

I would like to see a ski lift with power functions default_thumbup.gif

I totally agree with you, Ferdik and The Red Brick!

A ski lift would - like already mentioned in the Ideas for new City sets topic - be amazing! :oh:

But since the current Winter line seems to be set in a time about 50-100 years ago (no snow plough, carriage for transporting trees, ski helmet without gloves), I doubt that we'll get one.

TLG could do they same like in 10184: designing a church which can - judging from their exterior and interior - even well be a town hall. So it would be open to everyone on his or her own what he or she thinks about it being for a house - achurch or a town hall. I personally even don't need a church - but a small Winter town hall would be a great addition to our Winter villages.

WINTER THEME PREDICTION #2:

Imo that would give the whole Winter line a too much Anglo-American and corny note. The way TLG designed the Winter sets til now, they could be placed in many countries. A limitation to only some countries because of its contents would imo be not that amazing.

Apart from that I highly doubt that TLG will release a reindeer mold only for one set (and more than two reindeers in one set is completely unrealistic to get anyway).

I wouldn't be that sure about that, Mr. Elijah Timms.

TLG can always stop a theme when they want to - even if we think that it'll still go on for years and even if we nevertheless posted a lot of ideas and wishes. (Only look at the Farm theme: There is even a whole seperate topic about ideas for new Farm sets. And when the Farm theme was introduced, the most of us thought that there'll be surely more sets in the future and not that TLG will stop it after 2010.)

Plus one fact gives me a lot of secptic that the Winter theme will not continue: Why should TLG release a "large" Winter set before other smaller Winter sets? I fear that this set will be the final set of the Winter series.

Nevertheless I hope I'll be wrong since there's still that much we need for Winter (houses)!

You never know. I think this is just a little village set IN modern times, but doesn't have any funding for fancy snow plows.

I do like the sound of a ski lift, though! :classic:

Okay, now who prefers the last cop shop eh ?

The only good thing is the mug shot area.....I might MOD that into my son's 7744, but what's with the Captain Kirk chair and widescreen plasma, I'm not a fan of this one at all.

I feel the vehicles will outsell this set thats for sure !

Though the cells appear to be bigger, I still like the pop off wall to escape feature of the older one......more fun !

Lets hope other large sets in 2011 are not a step backward like this.

Keep on waiting for 2011. :sweet:

It annoys me that the back is open.

How's that different from any other town/CITY buildings ever?

And I really like this cop station. Probably the best since the 1996 version, IMO. I might take it (if modular 2011 isn't a cop station)

Looking at this picture of the Police truck and I was wondering, How do the doors lock ?

Actually it looks like a clever solution that I've not seen used before: this 2540.png interfaces with this 2412b.png, and the tiny loops must fit inside the grill grooves with enough friction to keep the doors closed.

WOW, I'll have to try that someday default_classic.gif Thanks Fugazi.

Hmm... Just tried it at home, and it doesn't work at all. No friction there. We'll have to wait for the review!

Maybe it's just the two 2540.png pressing against each other?

The part with the bar can lie flat on a surface, so there won't be any friction. Maybe the friction is provided because the doors 'hang down' a bit because the hinges are relatively far away or because the roof of the trailer presses down on the doors.

It annoys me because this is a police station, and I don't want them esscaping in my city. You never know what happens at my city in the night.

Oh, well, I think I'll just MOD it.

I agree, the idea to give this to your child turning innocent play into everyone shoots the striped minifig.

I might aswell let them watch dexter with me.

A hospital of this size would be different with many specialities, functions and action to play out,

and most kids will experience it in one way or another which cannot be said about police.

Shame on me to consider a police set to get white parts.

I have added a lot of large pictures to my BS gallery

But the folders have not been made public yet!

So keep checking them here......

for now enjoy! :classic: :classic: :classic:

Okay, my turn and this is from a true Lego source....later next year a LARGE set in the winter toy shop/bakery series....but sadly my source only told me it was large and no other details, plus though unrelated to city, Lego games will be made to join together to make super games. When I get more details I'll post them.

Keep on waiting for 2011.

Yes, have it also from a source that it might be Santa's Winter Village Work Shop

Grogall, once again your posts are like sweet music to the Eurobricks world :) Care to contemplate if you think we might see a new reindeer mold in the set?

On the subject of a church, the nearest I've really noticed Lego breaking it's 'no religion' rule is that tower bridge had a cross on top. Personally, I think any winter sets are more likely to be like the previous ones - shops. Maybe even an inn.
