Algernon Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I'm liking those NASA sets a LOT more now, although I'm not sure why. That moon buggy is a must-buy for me. Quote
timtosino Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Bought the 7288 Mobile Police Unit yesterday and noticed something I do not think we pointed out earlier, but it contains a 1x2 tile in gold Which I thought was quite nice. I'm wondering if you can do me a favor. In the instructions I need the LEGO element ID of the light blue police officer torso http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=cty216 for an order. The element ID should be on the list of piece at the back of the instructions. Hope you can help me out! Anyone else with the new police sets that can help me out too? Quote

Mrlegoninja Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) This is what I saw from brickset user madforlegos when he wrote it on brickset: 3661 Bank is at Lego stores already.Picked 2 up today, in addition to the Mandalorian Battle packs.I did not pikck, the gungan packs up partly because I know if I do not get teh Mandalorian battle packs they will be on perpetual back order for the guys trying to buy as many as they can to sell on eBay. They also had the Backhoe for technic come out today too. I will wait on those though) The Bank is Ok, but a whopping 49.99 for it. It has a new hair from the looks of things, as well as a credit card, and green suitcases.. Apparently an ATM that the little burglar guy tries to steal...Only 11.99 for the Mandalorian (ie Jengo fett figs)battle pack 49.99? I just wonder how many pieces it has. The Soup Nazi Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) Did you see the safe in through the window in the bank on the second level? You are correct! (Credit to jth781 on Flickr for the pic) Edited December 21, 2010 by The Soup Nazi Quote
Galaxy Explorer Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 3661 Bank & Money Transfer has 405 pieces. The LEGO Store did not have it, but I was able to get a copy of the January Shop at Home catalog. It's in there, but no Police Chase set. Quote
Hinckley Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 The LEGO Store in Chicago (North-Schaumburg) has it in stock. Quote
wooootles Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 The LEGO Store in Chicago (North-Schaumburg) has it in stock. Cool! I'm going to California in 6 stores. I hope I land on at least 1 store out of the 6 there (Visiting relatives from both NorCal and SoCal) and hopefully snag some of these bad boys. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) Looking at those pics on flickr, the bank is really a must-have for every City fan! The details of its interior are simply stunning! The only four things I don't like in this set are that there is open space above the safe door, that there is no wall between the room with the safes and the driver's cab in the armored car and that the police car - although it's that huge - doesn't fit two minifigures (like the taxi) and that the security officer (very supposably) will be a regular police officer. Apart from these four things it's an outstanding set which I can't await to get! The 2011 City police sets are now on sale here in Germany (V-Markt) Thank you very much for this information, grogall! Are the bank and the police chase available there, too? Klaus-Dieter Edited December 21, 2010 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Hey, has anyone noticed that the money van in the new bank set uses two 6x6 tiles ? The interior of the bank is totally AWESOME and it's on the very top of my list.....can't wait to see a review of it right here on EB ! Keep on banking ! Quote
Brickviller Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Now I've seen this set on Flickr in real life I can't wait to get one, or two or three.. Really love every aspect of this set. Quote
buddy Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Looking at the pictures of the bank set on Flickr, I too have decided I must get this set when it comes out! ~buddy~ Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Actually got the Prisoner Transport yesterday, and am now surprised at how similar the Armored Car in the Money Transfer set resembles it. The first two thirds of both vehicles seem strongly similar except for cosmetic details. On another note... almost a shame this guy didn't hit in the TRU's this week. Could have been a steal to get, say, the bank and the Police Boat for $71USD! Quote
supersympa Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 i love that bank and i love that plane! I will buy them definitely, but i won't bother with the new police sets... Quote
SilentMode Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I would definitely take the space station, and perhaps the bank (mainly for the security van and green suitcases). Otherwise, I'm mostly unimpressed with the new line-up, I have to say. I miss these old-style astronauts: Quote
CarrollFilms Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I love the new Space sets, but really, more Police?! We don't need anymore, but I think the bank looks nice. If I were to buy another Police set, my city will be overrun by cops. But i'm excited for the Space sets, i've been waiting for these kinds of sets since the Mars Mission series ended, and i really liked that series, oh well these new sets are good enough for me! Quote

CommanderFox Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 The Bank looks pretty decent. I love the robber scaling the side. CF Quote
