You missed the kid at the top with the red cap & green backpack, looks like he's rowing a canoe or something

Also the new alien on the top shelf

The gold faced Pharoh

& the guy with sideburns & goatee next to the girl with cup

I think he was deliberately limiting his list to the figs which are probably City figs, since this is the City subforum.

The canoeing kid is from the Creator Log House, discussed in the Other themes subforum.

The alien is from the upcoming sci-fi theme being discussed in the Sci-Fi subforum

The Pharaoh is the already-well-known pharaoh from the Pharaoh's Quest theme, being discussed in the Action Themes subforum (some people already own this fig). The guy with sideburns is the adventurer Jack Raines, also from the Pharaoh's Quest theme.

You can visit any of these subforums to discuss these characters!

I just picked up the new bank set at the lego store in Georgia, they got it yesterday. It looks amazing, but it was $50. I can't make a review, but I will answer questions! :classic:

$50 bucks for 3661... my prediction is on target :classic:

I'll take one (and another, later). For a CITY building that bank is highly detailed, almost exclusive-level might I say (Town Plan/Winter building-level)

Well, what else can anyone spy for city 2011 out of that picture eh ?

Keep on waiting for 2011......mid-year pictures that is !

I saw the one in the bottom right box. He looks like a traveller, perhaps a passenger on a cruise ship? :classic:

I too have to express my disappointment at the new plane being an airline exclusive. Best plane in years, very much like my beloved 6368. I'd have bought several if I could get it normally.

The bank set seems to have also appeared on the Lego shop

Yep, it is.....but for the US not the land of Oz.....well, yet anyway !

Goodness, though 50 bucks US....that might make it a 100 bucks AU....aw, man ! :hmpf_bad:

Back on the just the subject of the bank, what's the deal with that gap from the safe door to the ceiling.....what ease of entry for a real thin crook eh ?

Plus the female teller is holding a 2x1 tile.....that can't be a credit card....a cheque book would fit it better.....you try and swipe a card that size to pay for dinner eh ?

Keep on waiting for 2011 ! :sweet:

I think if they really wanted to increase the security of the vault to keep the crooks out, they might want to consider putting walls on all four sides of the building

J/K... I'm not a four-wall snob, haha

Yeah, a flick lever blow the door or wall out trick which would bump the price even higher.

I guess the safe door was last to be design and then went oops, forgot something sport ! Ah, well to late, but as AFOL's can fix......keep on banking !

Thanks @GRogall for this, and many other, picture! I like the design of the cars; this red sports car looks nicer than the one we got a year or two ago, though it's a bummer it requires stickers to achieve the stripe effect.

Thanks 'grogall' for the latest picture, goodness.....mirrors....mirrors on both cars...all we need now are more realistic tyres for a car than for a truck.

Keep on waiting for 2011 ! :sweet:

Ugh, I agree about the tires. Surely someday one of the Lego designers will notice that cars don't have fat tires jutting out the sides like that... they look awful.

Enough complaining about the Police theme!

For adults 2-3 years is nothing, but in kid's toys terms that's a whole generation of consumers that have grown old enough to engage with and want sets from the theme. Kids love Police and Fire sets and for LEGO they are always big sellers.

By 2011 it will have been three years since the last new Police theme - you can't expect LEGO to keep selling the same sets forever. Useful new parts come into being, and more significantly, old parts that may have been commonly produced in colours in 2008 are by 2011 not as widely available to do another production run of the same old set. At some point it becomes more economical to produce a new design which is consistent with the current parts palette rather than have two palettes running simultaneously.

City has for almost the last decade been on a three year cycle with alternating rounds of City and Fire sets in the January slot with the less popular subthemes on a somewhat longer rotation cycle (Coastguard 2003 & 2008, Construction 2005 & 2009, Hospital 2006, Trains 2003, 2006 and 2010, and so on).

I agree completely. Of course we always want creativity, something new, but what strikes me is a real improvement in vehicle design, most notably the Police Chase. I'm sure I'll pick-up a few of the Satellite Launch sets to modify and build a fleet of shuttle buses. Perhaps I can add a Patriot Missile launch site to protect my town from stray North Korean ICBM's. While the new rocket Station set lacks the elegance of the second generation Shuttle Launch set (6339), I'm sure I won't be able to resist it. As for the Police Station, it looks to be full of many useful parts for city building, I mean, look at all of those windows.

I like the chunky tyres. I'll admit they could stand to be a shade slimmer but these days a lot of cars have quite chunky tyres. (seeing slim tyres on a car makes you think someone is running on a set of spares to cut cost). I don't really want a return to the tyres of classic town with the flat edges. the depth of the tread on tyres botherts me more but I suppose the deeper the tread the less plastic used for a piece. At least we don't get the balloon tyres anymore. Later town sets that had those just looked ridiculous. They made every vehicle look like a failed monster truck.

OMG !

I was just check on sneek peek photos of upcomming Kingdom's when I spied a GREEN HAUL of a boat with wheat heads (like the ones on the FARM) gear travelling in the water !

The haul is the same type used on the fire and coast guard boats...sadly that's all that can be seen.....dam it ! :cry_sad:

Oh, well at least that's a start to being talk on this eh ?

Keep on wishing for July 2011 ! :sweet:

Edit......Rick you beat me to it !
