Fugazi Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I have multiple pieces, including doors, with the Shell logo printed on them from sets in the 1980's, so it has been done before. You're right, and this was before the no-logo policy was implemented. I'm afraid I can't find a source for this information right away, but it's been discussed on this forum before. Quote

L@go Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Wow - if they've already got it, it can't be too long before it's released. Better rethink my budget... can't wait! Quote

cimddwc Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 this video include all lego sets - what do you think about modular building next to green grocer? is it a new set?:)) Looks more like the blue building (or a mod thereof) from Mediaeval Marketplace – its tan building is just across the street, too. Jargo Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 It's a MOC. I've seen that building in a flikr set belonging to a MOC'er. Quote

The Yellow Brick Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Video of the new Space shuttle being build on Youtube Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Thanks 'TRB' for the link, I must say that set is okay, except only one spaceperson.....is he Buck Rogers ? Keep on travelling through outer space ! Quote
Brickviller Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 This set looks great, a cheap(er) way to get a space shuttle. I can't wait until the release over here in March! Quote
prateek Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Apparently the maker of the video found it at Tesco for 10 Euros! Quote
Tereglith Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) There's also a very poor quality 'review' of 3366 somewhere on youtube, although it's really just a kid holding the set's various components in front of the camera and forgetting to turn the sound on. The fact that all of these sets are being sold in places raises the question for me, though, of WHEN they're supposed to hit stores! Is there any hard-and-fast information one this? It's far too early a release for them to come out with the summer wave, but they definitely aren't with the winter wave. What's going on with these sets? I'd appreciate some clarification. Edit: just read Brickviller's comment. Duh . Waiting until March it is, then. Edited February 6, 2011 by Tereglith Quote

I already have the 3366 Satellite Launch Platform in my possession too. There is one toy shop here that has it on the shelves since late January and the exact same thing happened with the 7684 Pig Farm last year. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Imo it's weird the City sets aren't shown on the Nuremberg Toy Fair (or at least that nobody takes a video or pics of them). Having had some closer looks at the Space Port sets, I decided not to buy them: Of course they look - apart from the Moon Buggy (which looks imo much too <insert that tiresome argument>) - amazing. But in my planned final layout (which very supposably won't be as big as I plan it at the moment) there won't be any place. Plus I like the Harbour sets more than these Space sets. And since money is limited, too, I will pass the Space sets and get the Harbour sets. Btw: Does someone remember when last year we got the first confirmation (picture, set descrpition or at least set name and set number) of the City House and the Public Transport Center? I think it's time that we at least get some hints and/or set names which exlusive City sets we can await for this summer! (I can't imagine - and even don't hope - that there won't be minimum one exclusive City set (apart from the Winter set) this year. And I even bet that minimum one of maximum two sets will be Harbour related. What do you think?) Klaus-Dieter Quote

The Yellow Brick Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Thank you for those pictures, I must admit that the marina looks great. The café on top of the shop is very cute. And the boat looks fantastic , Very stylish and modern. Quote
muscleman Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the pics!! need to buy it! really like the marina set, great! Edited February 7, 2011 by muscleman Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Yes, finally some pictures to talk about.....you are a blessing 'kris kelvin' - thank you ! First the marina, a bit more detail we can see here, the cafe has a name....the what ? Oh, I see Paradise Cafe.....original name....oh, well I'll buy it ! Plus that blue dive boat and yellow quad.....quite realistic....cool I would only need to custom some DHL Surf Lifesaving torso's ! Now for the truck and trailer....sadly only this shot - I can only hope the front view of the truck impresses me more. It does feel like extra-large classic town.....I was hoping for better stickers than that.....ah, well. And what's with the Octan uniforms when the truck is not stickered Octan ? Must be another hey lets throw a kit together tomorrow it will sell ! Hey, 'kris' anymore surprises for us today ? Brick On Everyone ! Quote

prateek Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The speedboat transport looks nice, but that Marina still looks ridiculous! Quote
SilentMode Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 That roof sign looks like it says "Porndise Cafe" at first glance... but of course not. I have to agree it looks ridiculous though, like a mishmash of different coloured parts. The windsurfer brings back memories, for sure. I had the old caravan with trailer before the dark age. Quote
Aanchir Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I think the marina looks pretty good. Doubt I'll buy it, though. I'm not much of a City collector-- if I buy any City sets, it'll be the Space ones, and I'm into them chiefly for their nostalgic value. It's kind of funny that the diver in the marina set uses Squidtron's torso from Space Police III. Nothing on that box has a preliminary watermark on it, but I wonder if that will really make it to the final set or if they might make a new wetsuit print for him. I wish the Marina used one of the surfboards from the collectible minifigs... I'm getting kind of tired of the overuse of those enormous sailboards. They do work well as sailboards, but I see two on that box art and I don't see any point in having two of them when there's only one sail in the set. Kind of silly on that box art how the sailboard guy is surfing upriver from the marina rather than on the open water. Love the little surf shop, and the pier itself. And it looks like the top floor with the balcony and cafe is compatible with the modular houses (not the modular buildings like Cafe Corner and Green Grocer, but rather the 6x16 modular buildings in sets like Construction Site, City Corner, and City House). I like the truck with the boat trailer too, but I'm not too impressed with the boat itself. It's not nearly as cool as many Creator boats or even other City boats have been. It's got a decent design, but I feel it deserves a lot more detail at that size. Quote
