L@go Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Anyone else notice those tan door and window frames? Yes, they could also be found - all of them - in both the Apple Tree House and the Log Cabin. But it's a very versatile colour, so it's nice to get some more of them :) Quote

GRogall Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I have edited the post above with links to High Res images! The folders still need to go public! Enjoy! :classic: Quote
Jargo Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 The harbour is so not worth £72. Won't be paying that. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 The harbour is so not worth £72. Won't be paying that. I have to agree with that. £72 is way too much for a set that little. A more suitable price would be 40 or 30 even Quote
escortmad79 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 4645 Harbour £71.99~buddy~ how much?! Really don't consider it to be worth anywhere near that, £45 tops! Reckon this could end up as a dust gatherer which will end up seriously lowered in price! Quote
TypoCorrecto Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I'm not sure what the USD price will be but to me the 4645 Harbour and 4644 Marina sets just don't look very good. Definitely not worth buying in my opinion, so I will be boycotting...It's a shame because it will be another 4 years before new Harbour/Marina sets come out. Quote

SilentMode Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 There's something about the lighting used on those models, that gives the impression they're trying to fluff up how much there is in the box. For whatever reason it doesn't sit well. Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to the lighthouse. Quote
prateek Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Wow, anyone else notice how Lego isn't including baseplates in any of these? Where did they go!? Quote
gifinim Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Wow, anyone else notice how Lego isn't including baseplates in any of these? Where did they go!? The accountants stole them all Quote
Jargo Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Thanks Grogall. much appreciated. Now I see the back print on the lighthouse keeper I want that torso even more. Makes me wish Lego did more of the same torsos in different colours. this one in various different colours would be great. Quote
peterab Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Wow, anyone else notice how Lego isn't including baseplates in any of these? Where did they go!? I saw these at the Melbourne toy fair and asked if baseplates would disappear from all lines. Apparently the Creator designers feel using regular plates is more in keeping with the aims of the Creator line as it helps with the flexibility for alternate models. As far as Lego Australia knew the use of normal plates as baseplates will be restricted to Creator. I would be very disappointed if normal baseplates were to disappear altogether. I certainly hope they continue in the modular house range, and I'm sure I'm not the only one worried about them becoming rarer in City and other lines. Quote

If they switch out baseplates for regular plates in city and modular, that's gonna be a big mistake. It could very well turn me away from them, because I would then have to buy extra baseplates so they'll fit in my city with the street baseplates.. Quote
jonwil Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 My guess is that we will continue to see baseplates in Modular as well as some large City sets. Other large City sets will get no baseplates at all or only the really small ones (like last years fire station which would have been much better if it had a 32x32 road baseplate like the current police station) Quote
never enough bricks Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 the Hillside house has a sound brick (looks like a doorbell judging from the picture of the box). I haven't seen that on many sets before, or have I just not been looking properly? Quote

I haven't seen that on many sets before, or have I just not been looking properly? The sound brick was used in at least 4 sets according to the Bricklink inventory: 10196 Grand Carousel 4958 Monster Dino 8634 Mission 5: Turbocar Chase 4893 Revvin' Riders Quote
Piranha Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 thanks for those high res pics. The creator line looks amazing, I like how they finally decided to include figs in the sets, I wonder why they don't use trees and regular dogs over brickbuilt, but I guess it is creator. They all look great and will fit in my City nicely Quote
peterab Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 the Hillside house has a sound brick (looks like a doorbell judging from the picture of the box). I haven't seen that on many sets before, or have I just not been looking properly? Yep, it's pretty cute too, first the doorbell sounds, followed by the dog (on the front lawn) barking. I prefer sets not to have sound or light bricks because it makes them more expensive as parts packs for me but they do add play value for kids. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Okay, I've had some not-so-nice words about it... but after those pics, I feel like I owe you an apology, Hillside House. They threw in a lot of little things to kick up the playability-- of them all, I love using the 'tribal hunter' feathers in silver as hedge clippers. So very clever, TLG... LOVE the Creator line! Klaus-Dieter Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Some great news about the next Winter set which I want to place here (since I think it belongs here and should be discussed here): Here grogall posted: Multiple people who work for TLG have told me it will be a Post Office! Thank you very much for this information, grogall! Since we've been waiting for a new post office for decades, it's great to hear that we finally will get a new one. And it's even great to have confirmation that the Winter theme is going to continue. The only thing I don't like that much is that - with a post office being available in the Winter theme - there for sure will be no post office for the regular City theme in the next years. Don't understand me wrong: I really like those Winter sets and it would even be a pity if TLG stopped the Winter theme - but nevertheless we need more civilian houses, shops and civilian infrastructure for our regular, non-Winter cities. Since the Winter theme seems to take place in the past (like the Modular Buildings), I fear that we won't get a post van (or at least an ancient styled - which would imo be ugly since I want an up-to-date one). What do you think that there'll be included apart from the post office itself? Perhaps another Christmas stall (e. g. selling gingerbread)? Klaus-Dieter Edited May 5, 2011 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Yamon Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) :) Fab news! I missed the last Post van and plane, and I'm hoping for both this time round, or maybe even a humble post man with his buggy with a couple of letters. That would be a great set! It is a shame its a Winter set though. I wanted a Post Office in regular City theme. If it weren't a Winter set, I'd expect a Bureau d'Exchange, but maybe a small stall selling Mulled wine, and other hot drinks? :) Edited May 5, 2011 by Yamon Quote
