Zeya Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 So have we confirmed that this list is NOT legitimate? Yeah that's pretty much the consensus. I'm going to call it for all of us, lol. If you go back and read the post, it really seems more to me like he was just predicting (guessing) what would be in the next set. Having two combat-based figures in a set like that doesn't seem to fit the pattern. A baby stroller accessory etc? Nah. Not legit. Quote
Once In A Lifetime Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Hey hey hey, series three. Actually, I rarely use Lego Blocks and minifigures, and stay towards the "Action Figure" characters. But, I kinda want that Space Villain dude. Quote
Delta 38 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 This is a bit old, but anyway... While I like most of them, I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to collect them all (especially now without barcodes). I haven't seen any of the previous two waves, so I've kind of given up on collectible minifigs in general. Hopefully we'll see some of these in actual sets or themes. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I must say this Series 3 have the potential to be better than the previous two, simply because of the great selection of minifigs. The Samurai, Elven warrior, Gorilla, and Fisherman really stand out for me. However, the short time span between the releases somehow makes it difficult to collect the whole line (I haven't even started with Series 2). So I hope they limit these to 1-2 series per year. Quote
Solitary Dark Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I'm afraid this set confirms to me I wont be completing a full set. What I like : Characters that expand my ability to build in different themes. What I dont like : Characters that look like they were assembled from over-manufactured pieces as line fillers. I have a squidman from Space Police - I dont need another one in a different colour. I love the Samurai and the Elf, but wont be looking to build armies. My son wants a Mummy. The one I will try for more than 1 of though is the Pilot. Real Character. The Series 4 speculation list sounds too much like wish fulfillment in some ways, and very possible in others, but I dont believe for one minute a Soldier is ever going to get in the line unless its a fantasy situation soldier. That policy is set. However some of them are very good ideas and I'd certainly like to see them. (The Mountain Climber particularly!) Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I simply love that we are getting printed caps from the Baseball player and the rapper and I could see the Sumo wrestlers torso comming in handy in some MOC's Quote
Space Odysseyer Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I'm sure this green squidman will be replaced with а stereotypical humanoid alien in the final version. Quote
dyntar Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I'm also hoping the alien head will be replaced. Don't really need more mummies, after I'll be getting all the ones in Pharaohs quest line.. but these figs are looking pretty nice. Race driver is pretty boring.. but I'll keep his hair. is that the first time its been released in tan? The part I'm most looking forward to is the beard on the fisherman.. pity its arriving after Christmas though cos that's a great beard for Santa. Quote
General Magma Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 There isn't much that I like here, or stuff that is of use to me. The only ones I like would be the alien and the blacktron guy, the samurai and the elf are nice aswell. I hope there'll be more stuff in series 4 that relates to space... things I could use for Star Wars. The green Squidman head is pretty nice to me, but I would have liked to see another species. ~ General Magma Quote
Cerlin Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Not the clearest of image but might help to see if they're regular or TS arms & legs So that's why the gorilla looks funny... it's actually a guy in a gorilla suit, did'nt think of that. Get two of them and you can make a "Pink Panther" MOC! Quote
Cutty Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I like them all but take them with a grain of salt. Now that I've seen the finalised versions of series 3's figures I feel relieved, actually, that I do not want any of them in bulk, unlike series 2's hoplite. Multiples of some of them (space villain, hula girl, race car driver, gorilla!...) are appreciated though. Each of them, and even if it was only for faces, got enough character to them Some improvement I'd add customly would be short legs in black for the gorilla (face it, real gorillas have short legs). The only gripe with these would be the elf. I'm into fantasy and still cherish the Castle line's approach to it. Yet this elf doesn't quite fit in. It begins with his hair, which I don't find to be very elvish, continues with his stern expression (see hairdo!) and doesn't stop with that way-too-elaborate stag-head heraldry. And even though I thought of him and her to be useless: I got plans to merge rapper's torso and tennis player's legs to get an awesome white tunic for antiquity mocs. All in all there's enough cool pieces (hula girl's hair! fantastic piece finally in black! tennis player's hair! awesome in dark red! return of samurai armour! gorilla mask! silver peg-leg!) to get me into buying them. Even w/o modes of individually identifying them pre-purchase, this set is strong enough to captivate me! Good times! p.s.: Now that I rethink it, mupltiple mummies would be welcome ;-) Quote
Aanchir Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I'm sure this green squidman will be replaced with а stereotypical humanoid alien in the final version. This is the final version. Note the lack of preliminary watermarks. And I don't see what's so bad about having a pre-existing head in a different color with different printing. Isn't that what minifig heads in general are like? As I keep reiterating, the fact that LEGO can create new and specialized parts for the collectible minifigs doesn't mean they need to when an existing head works just fine for the idea LEGO intends to depict. What we have here is your typical "rubber mask" alien-- the kind that might have appeared in certain black-and-white B-movies. And I think the idea works magnificently-- certainly more so than the awkwardness of the UFO theme in the late 90s. The head is made distinct from the Squidman head by adopting some unique traits-- for instance, green rather than gray skin, and black rather than colored eyes (which incidentally both makes him feel more like a stereotypical alien and makes him feel more appropriate among regular minifigures). Bricks2000 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Series 1 and 2 sells so well here. hope series 3 isn't sold out before i get my hands on them! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 So I hope they limit these to 1-2 series per year. That would be smart, but I don't think LEGO is. I think there will be four series next year. LEGO still hasn't sold out of all the series 2 minifigures online year in the USA, so at least they made enough for this series, unlike series 1 which was a joke. I'm hoping with more series we will get more seasonal minifigures, like an Easter Bunny for series 4 and a minifigure with a rake in the fall. Quote

Ravenclaw2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Not sure if this has been posted but here a none confidential japanese pic!? I love these! I love the hula dancer(is her skirt a print or like a cape?) and the tennis player, the sumo wrestler(that bun hairpiece will come in useful. Plus, a bronze trophy!)I like the snowboarder, but isn't her head just the same as the s.1 cheerleader? I hope she has a hairpiece that can be changed for the helmet, like the ferrari driver, who I also like. That blonde hair is great. Is the thing on the fishermans face a scarf or a beard? Anyway, thanks for the picture! Quote
captain crossbricks Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 My favorite is probaly the gorilla and the fisherman. Quote
Captain Becker Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Im gonna hunt those Elfs now as Crazy Have to get those. I only got 3 Spartans, but im happy because so many didnt have than one or none. But that elf is my favorite. Captain Becker Quote

prateek Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) They release a new wave every 3-4 months so there should be 4 series released next year going on that basis I think they should span them out longer, and make more, so people don't have a hard time finding these little buggers. Mr. Gray Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Do I spy Toy Story arms and legs on the gorilla If they are, that one will be a must buy! Woah! I didn't even notice! Nice catch! Hopefully the local LEGO store near me will finally get this series. They had a small shipment of Series 1, but I've yet to see Series 2 at all. Quote
LegoDad42 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) Definitely want to pick up... - Samurai(wish they'd make the blade on the sword silver) - Elf - Space Villain (be good to make an army from these guys) - the Mummy - the Baseball Player (although I wish they scuplted a small glove piece to snap onto it's hand somehow). - the Pilot (has that old Adventurer feel and I love the bomber jacket torso. Can't make out if he has a backpack? Or new open backpack piece?). Disappointed in... - the Space Alien (I was really looking forward to an original head sculpt. Something new all around actually, but it's just a repaint of Squidman from Space Police. Do like the ray-gun piece though. Can't have enough of those). - Sumo (I like the new hair piece but if they couldn't make a thick torso at least make a new 'diaper' piece like they wear to snap between the legs and torso. A thick, cloth sculpt in white). Also wish they put in a bottle of milk and trophy with the Race Car Driver, some feather pieces to clip onto the spear of the Native American Chief, a torso and head piece to snap onto the Gorilla like they have with Chewbacca and maybe I'm wrong but do Hawaiin Hula Dancers use maraccas? No bar codes but it'll make it fun for me and kid to see what surprise we get! Maybe it might be good to go in with some friends to split a sealed box 3 ways. David Thomsen Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 - Sumo (I like the new hair piece but if they couldn't make a thick torso at least make a new 'diaper' piece like they wear to snap between the legs and torso.
