To me the cyborg I hope I get three of them. The alien is all right but not a must.

I am getting a little discouraged though, because even though availability has not been an issue, I am yet to see a space man or a robot. Keep getting series 1 stuff I don't want (curse them forest men  ).

Eee... do Lego fans really want an adult diaper piece? :cry_sad:

I can only think of one use for it outside of a Sumo wrestler...and now I can't get it out of my head...

LOL...yes we need an adult diaper for our older and truck drivin' City and Town folk...

It was the only way I could describe those...hmmm...let me see...g-string ceremonial briefs, loose loin cloth they wear...

OK...that's not working either. Got it...lego should make a Mawashi or a Kesho-mawashi piece? How's that... :sweet:

With Pharaoh Quest coming out soon, the mummy and pilot are totally useless in my opinion. Well, except the dark red scorpion and mustached head maybe.

And I don't know where you guys are getting the idea that the gorilla has TS limbs. Trust me, he doesn't. I should know.

- the Pilot (has that old Adventurer feel and I love the bomber jacket torso. Can't make out if he has a backpack? Or new open backpack piece?).

I'm pretty sure he has a usual tan (, but they're usually not in tan) backpack piece.

I found a few more pictures that show a little more detail on E-bay.

LOVE the Elf.

Interesting... The Baseball Player's team name seems to be the Clutchers.

As beautiful as he is as a fig, I still feel he could have been better. It would have been cool if his pinstripes had continued to his legs.

Loving the Gorilla Suit Guy now that I have a better look at his mask. The mummy's also pretty brilliant. And I have a few plans for what to do with the Space Villain now that I have a clear view of his face print...

I also just realized... the Space Villain's peg-leg is probably the same color as his robot arm (298 Cool Silver Drum Lacquered, or Metallic Silver on Bricklink). That would be cool.

And the Fisherman's overalls definitely don't seem regular orange... almost certainly Flame Yellowish Orange (Bricklink's Bright Light Orange).

The Sumo's pouty face is definitely a lot cooler in this picture.

The mummy's printing is definitely impressive. He has printing on pretty much every surface possible on a minifig, besides his toes and possibly his back (previous two series didn't have back printing, but we can neither confirm nor deny that these ones follow that trend based on having only front-view pictures).

The alien indeed does not have the same print as Squidman-- his "pupils" (I'm more keen on interpreting them as an "eye gleam" like minifig eyes tend to have) are centered rather than offset, and he has no forehead printing. Of course, people who hold the opinion that all reused pieces are bad reused pieces will not care either way, but it certainly shows me that LEGO didn't "cheap out" with this fig as some people seem to believe.

Thanks for the pics!

 Great name

Also it seems like the gorilla has long arms after all (if you compare them to the 'rapper' immediately below).

No, they look the same length to me in this picture. The problem is that that one "white space" between the arm and the torso isn't a gap, but rather just the shiny highlight on the arm. Also, these pictures do not show the minifigures in perspective; thus, the ones in the back seem larger than the ones in the front when they are in fact the same size.

As cool as it would have been to get the long arms and legs in a non-Toy Story set, I guess it makes more sense for him to have regular arms and legs, assuming he is just a dude in a gorilla suit.

You're right, I measured them... That said, the gorilla mask mold looks great.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but is the elf bow a new mold? Looks like a recurve to me.

Nice observation. If this is a new bow, it will be a much more elegant alternative to the old one

Am I correct in saying these won't have barcodes to distinguish between the packets - and has this been confirmed officially? This is a shame and hopefully will not work in the company's favour as I will now be reluctant to spend money on figures I'm not too bothered about whereas before I was happy to if I was guaranteed to get the one I was looking for. Sounds to me like they are thinking it will be financially beneficial for them to do this but I hope it fails.

Also, have the series 2 packets been changed so the barcodes are now all the same. i was looking through a box in WH Smith the other day and could not tell them a part - it seemed unlikely the whole box would be the same fig?

Wow AWESOME find!

I agree, I always like the elf but this pic might have placed him in my number 1 favorite! The chain mail print on his torso an legs looks SICK!

And I am pretty sure the pilot has the old school brown backpacks from the Imperial soldiers/Gaurds from 80-90s pirate sets.

Thats cool, I love those packs

Forgot to mention, is anyone else disappointed the samurai doesn't come with the horns that the original samurais had? It looks weird with that clip on his helmet but nothing to clip onto it.

1. It is official, no barcodes from series 3 onwards

2. The codes are still distinguishable. Are you looking at the correct barcode? There are 2, the one for the individual figures are the thinner one. The barcodes are the same for the first part & then change for the individual figure for the part of the barcode

That happened to me once, I went to a store and found like a brand new box, I was looking at the barcodes and was surprised to see them all the same! I thought maybe the factory lumped all the left over extras into a box so it had all of the same figure, I was about to leave when I checked one more time, I then realized I was looking at the barcodes from the wrong direction...Maybe it happened to you too?

After comparing the preliminary and now the final images of the Series 3 minifigs, I still can't tell for sure if the Elf pointed ears are part of the head mold or painted on the hair mold. The first option would give more flexibility in building elves with different hair cuts (although not all hair pieces would fit over the ears), while the second option would allow different facial prints (but all with the same hair style). Either way, there's no case for buying hundreds of them to build an elven clone army!

And, is that fish really molded in sand green? It doesn't look like grey to me. :cry_happy:

Thanks for the pic!

I haven't had time to read much of this thread but... I'm really really hoping that nobody else is a huge Elf fan/wannabe like me and the prices of those guys aren't going to be ridiculously high on BrickLink/eBay :cry_happy:

That chainmail tunic looks awesome...

And all the LOTR MOCers are going to have to redo their LEGOlas with that new headpiece after this...

Other than that though, I think I overall prefer Series 2 over Series 3.

Great find! It was as I expected--the baseball player's team name is the Clutchers. A rather unfortunate name, I think. It is a LEGO pun, but it could also be interpreted differently. Still, it's a good figure (though I do wish the pinstripes were also printed on his pants and his arms).

The tennis player is good, too, but I really want a couple of that fisherman. He would be a great addition to my beach scene! Plus, that beard would be really useful for a Santa Claus figure.

Observations on the elf, which I want to army build *so* badly: The bow looks to be 99% the same as the traditional Lego bow, but TLG has retooled the ends of the bow itself to make it more elegant and elven. As for the ears, after seeing these latest pics I'm of the opinion that they are painted onto the hair piece. I see this in two ways: A) It's great because changing the actual head molding would be very strange and would mean that other helmets, hair etc wouldn't fit on the elf and we'd have to use the same hair all the time. This way we can switch heads to make other elves, which leads to the downside: B) All elves with ears will be blond. If you use Qui Gon Jinn hair to make a brunette--no ears. (Unless you paint the ears yourself.) Another ear-issue is that this hair piece can *only* be used for elves (Again, unless you remove the paint yourself.)

Anyway, an *awesome* minifig and easily my favorite of *all time*! I need to start saving money...

The back part of the barcode is the only part that's different so don't start at the front.

I am wondering, and sorry if this has been answered before, why are there two parts (A and B)? I wouldn't have thought anything of it, but the two separate pictures tell me otherwise. Are they going to be released at different times, or is it something else?
