Darth Jar Jar Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 In some cases yes, feeling the bag is probably going to be easier. There are a few tough ones to feel like the race car driver. I will post some pics when I get back from the YMCA in about 1.5 hours. what about the hair or helmet from the race car driver? Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Nice to know about the new cheat, however I only want one of each and since where I live has had no minifigures ever, I'll probably have to get these off ebay. Quote
Blackknight112 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I think it is said that yiu know whats in a bag, isn't it the fun not knowing what you will get? Quote
James Markham Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Bah LEGO should just give up and make series 4's packages non-see through- LMAO!!!! Quote
Zeya Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 They should encase each collectible minifigure in carbonite. Quote
Drakon Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 what about the hair or helmet from the race car driver? There are four figures with helmets and a ton with hair. The problem is its tough to feel exactly what roundish objects are. Maybe I have a poor sense of touch I don't know. Here are the pics. Let me know if you want something specific. Flickr Quote
escortmad79 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I think it is said that yiu know whats in a bag, isn't it the fun not knowing what you will get? Not if you end up with half a dozen space pirates if you doun't want a single one of that figure! Quote
FinalFeature Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I asked one of the workers at a Lego Store when they should start getting the series in and they said that since other stores are getting them in early that Lego stores should start getting them late November early December. Also does anyone know what extras there are in this series? Like does the dj have a extra microphone or the gorilla with an extra banana? Thanks, LegoGalactus Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Dots ehh. Okay. Looking forward to these figs alot! CF Quote

Drakon Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the pics The Mummy has side leg printing and arm printing Yes. All-in-all the mummy is a nice figure except the fact that its stark bone white. I thought it should be an aged yellow color instead. EDIT: Posted a pic of the samarai torse. Someone a while back requested that I think. Edited November 19, 2010 by Drakon Quote
Delta 38 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 No! Don't frontpage this, or they'll remove any identification systems altogether! Only joking, but seriously, I'm almost certain they changed the system because we have been using (exploiting?) the barcodes. Now that there are dots instead, they're more obscure to average people. Still, I expect them to change it soon enough. We can only blame ourselves however complicated the identification system gets. Personally, just finding minifigs at all is a challenge. Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 The Hi res pics do look good, I wonder if these shorter light saber blade pieces are going to be in production more and more. @Darth Jar Jar, they seem to be doing printing for alot of the figs, I wish they would do this more often for set minifigs. Mr. Elijah Timms Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Bah LEGO should just give up and make series 4's packages non-see through- Actually, Series 4 packages are equipped with a cloaking device. They've actually been on shelves for the past three weeks and no one has yet to find them. Quote
Ravenclaw2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Thank you so much for posting these! I think they all look great. I also saw on Flickr that the Hula Dancer has a flower in her hair! Quote
Commander Assassin Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Series 3's Code has been cracked over at From Bricks To Bothans! LOL, a secret brail system! I think TLG should just make them in see-through polybags! Quote
Drakon Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Thank you so much for posting these! I think they all look great. I also saw on Flickr that the Hula Dancer has a flower in her hair! I added a couple close up shots: the elfs ear, the dancers hair flower, the cyborg and gorilla guys faces (the sweat is awesome), the rappers radio (its not a sticker), and the helmet design from the race driver. Still Raindrop Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) I checked Target, TRU, and King Soopers (Colorado's Kroger-owned store), with no luck. Perhaps they'll make their way down to Colorado Springs soon... all I know is, I have never seen a single collectible minifigure on sale here (I had to drive to Denver to get my series 2 minifigs, and I only got those because a friend who worked at the LEGO store bought them for me). I saw an empty box for series 2 at Target, but never any minifigs. I really hope they're actually available here. By the way, where did people get the idea that the rapper was a "street punk?" In America, at least, "punk" is a very different subculture from the one portrayed here. Due to the microphone and the boombox, I would peg this guy as a freestyle rapper, though he could more broadly fit into the hip-hop culture, perhaps even thug culture. But definitely not punk. Aanchir Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I love the elf's headgear. I was wondering how they could pull off "elf-ears" that looked OK next to regular "earless" figs. The fact that the "points" on the elf-ears seem to be growing from the standard non-ears accomplishes this quite appropriately, I think. Definitely want to get that Space Villain for myself. He's the fig I'm most enthusiastic about from the upcoming series. I have some plans for that face... Best of all, his torso print fits in perfectly with Rench's from Space Police III. I can imagine he'll be a much-demanded fig for sci-fi builders-- he could definitely be a capable leader for somebody's Blacktron forces. His robotic leg and arm are also in what seems to be the new dark silver from Kingdoms (316 Titanium Metallic). Very nice; gives him an all-around evil look. The gorilla guy is also adorable. The way he's so clearly uncomfortable creates a wonderful dissonance with the always-smiling face on his mask. Next time I see a person in a mascot suit taking a picture with a kid, I'll have to remember that this is probably the sort of face they're wearing underneath. You know what else it reminds me? LEGO really needs to start making monkeys with printed faces. I am so serious-- printed faces IMO make minifig animals more compatible with regular minifigs, and the monkey may need it the most since he's without question one of the most "human-like" animals available. The Hula Girl's skirt is a bit disappointing, but perhaps that's partly because of the high-res image. If it really is the same material as minifig capes, then it should have an OK texture in real life, but in this picture the texture seems a bit off. I also wish it wrapped around a little further so there's not that gap where the sides are supposed to close up. That flower in her hair is gorgeous, though. And I love that excessive smile. "I am Joo Dee; welcome to Ba Sing Se!" Samurai's still looking awesome. The floral print is cool, and looks very authentically Japanese. Not liking the quality of that armor as it appears in that picture, though. Hope it's not consistently bad for every Samurai fig. The Race Car Driver is epic. He simply exudes that "celebrity" feeling you get from actual race car drivers (at least, those I'm familiar with here in the US). I can totally picture him endorsing Octan and other products on television. Speaking of which, I hope the next update to the Minifigures webpage on LEGO.com includes new videos-- the Series 1 videos were really cute, and I was disappointed in the lack of videos for Series 2. And lastly, the rapper is truly pimpin'. That boom box is really attractive looking, going one step beyond a regular 1x3 printed brick while still maintaining a certain level of simplicity and compatibility with a regular LEGO display. Quote
Oky Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Cool, thanks for the pics. So, are the Gorilla and mummy the only ones with back prints? I love that excessive smile. "I am Joo Dee; welcome to Ba Sing Se!" Bwahaha! That's so what it looks like! Seriously, what's up with that smile? Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) By the time series 4 comes out each minifigure will be $5 each. I have only seen series 2 twice, and one was Borders for $4, the other was a one off store below a LEGo Store and they had 2 left, and I used the codes and neither one was the skiier. But we all must thank LEGO for replacing a very different to read barcode with incredibly simple dots! Is there a picture of the new fishing pole? So far it looks... lacking. I hope it's better than it looks in the bag art. Edited November 19, 2010 by The Green Brick Giant Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I already read this over at FBTB. Thanks again for cracking this code! Quote
bricked one Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I see I'm not going to be able to get any... Quote
vexorian Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) Bah LEGO should just give up and make series 4's packages non-see through- Just in case, I meant to say "see through". Seriously, it is clear that for some reason they themselves need to know the figure inside the bag. But as long as there is a method that allows them to know it, people will find the method as well. They should just give up, really. Make every fig equally likely, with no blind package and they could even charge 0.5 extra for that, most people would prefer it.
