I am sure the "feel the bag" trick will help you get the ones you want (for example, snowboarder will have snowboard, rapper will have ghetto blaster, baseball player will have baseball bat, tennis player will have tennis racket, fisherman will have fish, alien will have molded head etc)

It worked just fine whilst trying to feel for S2 figs today so unless they change the packaging to make it stiffer/thicker (which I doubt they would do as it would make things more expensive) it should be fine.

lol... gorilla is almost at the bottom of the list. if you aren't trolling (or throwing off others who genuinely want to know which to collect), there are 5 criteria in determining which will be highly sought after.

1: most important criteria is rarity. any mf which is 3 to a box would fit this checklist.

2: unique parts. rarity is important but the parts must also be rare/unique as this means you cannot reproduce it yourself by buying the parts and putting it together.

3: "army building." almost everyone wants multiple of the mf. please keep in mind "army building" doesn't strictly mean collecting the same figure over and over again. it could also mean getting the figure for the parts. the surfer's torso for eg, which can be used as barbarians, hairpiece can be recycled. the key is that you want 10 or more of these.

4: versatility. can the mf or parts be used in almost any theme?

5: desirability.

granted, we don't know the composition of a full box nor have we seen the designs yet but we can clearly see how there are better choices: samurai, elf, baseball player are most likely. those that depend on final design include cyborg, sumo, mummy, indian chief, alien.

just from the description...i would think S3 will easily trump S2 and possibly S1 too. more army builders, more unique figures, more versatility. again, everything might change when we see the minifigures.

if S3 is as expected, it might help with buying in bulk since you can always sell the ones you don't want if indeed they are better than S1 and S2.

feeling the bag will work but do you have time to sort out one box or more? No one will be selling unopen bags anymore unless they specify it's random. so expect to buy them opened if you want the exact minifigures.

Given that I will likely be buying them from a retail store (and given that I spent time feeling the bags for both S1 and S2 for some of my purchases), I dont see any reason why I couldn't do the feel trick for S3.

No reason to buy online if you can buy at retail :)

Also, lots of groups are likely to buy a box between them, open all the bags and share them out (i.e. 3 people buying a box and taking one full set each plus whatever extras they want)

NOW the NEWS:

1) hawaii girl with hair like willie in black (from indiana jones) and flowers necklace - accessories: 2 brown maracas

2)indian chief - like old indian chief, - accessories: SPARTAN lance

3)samurai warrior - with heavy (old)armour and maybe and OLD helmet

4) tennis girl with white plisseted skirt and white racket, short brown hair

5) sumo wrestler with new black hair and big belly - all yellow... blah! accessories: trofeo like judo boy from series 2

6) baseball player with giants uniform and new cap with sharp peak - accessories: baseball bat (very pretty) brown and white

the stripes are RED sorry for this.

7)fisher with long beard and tipical cap - accessories: long fishing rod (new mold) and fish

8) elf warrior with new yellow hair and POINTED EARS -yess man, POINTED!

accessories: long shield with white deer (no tree), green mantle

9) street boy with striped sunglasses and a BIG (very big) stereo and cap like baseball player!

10) alien like squidman (in purple) with laser pistol and purple beam

11) gorilla (it is a costume) with a banana. The legs are dark brown and have the standard mold

12) ferrari driver in red and helmet

13) mummy - like old mummy sorry no ankh but skorpion and green skin

14) snowboarder girl with pink helmet and white glasses form SW ep V,

15) horrible half man half robot with pirate iron leg

16) standard RAF pilots with white mustacchi and standard backpack

what do you think?

ps: the elf warrior is FANTASTIC. He has a standard yellow face with a new little mold for the little POINTED ears. It seems a fantastic job LEGO!! :thumbup:

I probably can think of many questions, but first: the Elf ears, are they part of a new head mold, or part of the hair mold ? On a separate mold all by themselves? :wacko: In any case this may well be the army-builder of Series 3. :oh:

I am getting REALLY ticked off right now. These figures sound great especially the mummy, alien and cyborg but so far neither series one or two have available in any shops where I live! :angry: I really wanted some zombies but couldn't get those but thought i'd at least be able to get a vampire but didn't get that or any other collectible figs and now we have an awesome mummy and a cyborg with a part I've been trying to get forever and wont be able to get those either without paying extra on ebay! :hmpf_bad:

Please, please, PLEASE!.. post a link with the preliminary images. I'm new here, so I don't see why mods would delete the post, I mean, It's LEGO news why wouldn't they wanna see them.

I wish somebody could do that, but I believe he said that the pictures were marked confidential, which would breach the rule we have here.
