Anyhow -

I'm really looking forward to the new Squidman figure - anyone think that his head will come in a separate plastic bag like a lot of the painted Chinese pieces?

I'm also hoping his blaster is either a new one (maybe a rifle version of the series one spaceman gun) or a recolour of the series one spaceman gun. Either plain black or gunmetal grey would be nice, though a trans colour or even red would go great with it's retro sci-fi look.

We'll find out soon enough!

Given that the entire fig is made in china, I doubt the head will come in a separate bag.

The separate bag is used for parts that are made in china and then shipped to Denmark or wherever for packaging with other parts in the set (such as e.g. the motorbike from that one Indiana Jones set or the various Toy Story parts)

I can't wait to see them, I really, really want to see the Squidman. I love Space Police, and it's great that it's being "continued" in some way. I Wonde rif it'll be made like a SP3 figure, with a Black Hole gang torso and belt buckle?

yes, my first post was wrong. I didn't remember well the pictures.

elf warrior has pointed ears and new hair mold.

I think the ears are part of the head mold. They are yellow and little, very good also for Star Trek mock

It is the same SF blaster from series one, but in GOLD with purple beam.

the alien has green head, gray arms and purple legs. The tongue is red as usual

The half man-half robot has also the same blaster in dark silver with trans red beam.

and must say, they look great. Especially like the fisherman and pilot so far.

Pretty certain the Elf is going to be a much wanted figure judging by the picture.

?Sumo-wrestler? looks a bit too simple in my opinion, hopefully it will become more detailed in the final version

They're very cool! The rapper and the archer are a must get. The hawaii girl and the snowboarder seem to have a SIMILAR face to the cheerleader though;( I like the new idea of a grass skirt (cloth) for the hawaii girl.

I think this is the most mixed series. A few good, a few bad and a lot of just ok. Maybe some will change a bit for the release. I'm not a fan of the reused Alien head and the sumo guy is pretty lame IMO. But again a lot of new molds which are very useful.

Sounds like the cheaper option indeed. I don't expect them to do a new head mold just for these.

Terrific stuff! A few quick comments:

Hawaiian dancer: awesome skirt piece! cloth or plastic? Hope to see it again in future minifigs. Too bad they didn't use the same in white for tennis player, but of course this is all preliminary stuff. EDIT: before any other perverted mind mentions it, I wonder if TLG provided her with underwear?

Fisherman: Love him, don't quite know why!

Elf: I'll be curious to see if other hair pieces will fit the new head mould. This may limit the army-building potential of the minifig. EDIT: if the ears are really part of the hair piece, then it's possible to have different facial expressions but hair remains the same... still not perfect.

Alien: Will they really recycle Squidtron's head? I though they would create a new alien head altogether.

Gorilla: Doesn't quite look like a costume, could be intended to represent a real gorilla as well. Is there a minifig head under the mask?

Wow! I am impressed and somewhat let down at the same time...

I feel like these don't have the "WOW" factor series 1 had, but that was probably just because of the novelty those had...

The Hula Girl has to be my favorite! The Cheif, Samurai, Fisherman, Snowboarder, Rapper, Elf, Tennis and Baseball players are nice as well.

The Ferrari driver looks ok, but only because of the new blond hair. The Cyborg and Alien are just lame- I think it would be extremely lazy of TLC if the SPII Alien head made it to the final design. I was hoping for a stereotypical Area 51/Roswell alien .

I was also hoping for a better gorilla, even though I know TLC can do so much.

I will buy them all anyway.
