When is the Temple set supposed to be released in the United States? I don't have any Atlantis sets except for a small one minifigure impulse set, since most of the sets didn't seem that interesting. The Temple set definitely looks amazing though.

Officially, they come out January 2011, but expect them some time in December 2010. As a matter of fact, the Angler fish set is already out at some USA TRU FTW

Yes they are. I held the Angler Fish set in my hand at a TRU near Chicago a few hours ago.

I went to my TRU, they didn't have them, so don't worry too much.

Picked up 7978 Anglerfish Attack (the only 2011 Atlantis they had) at my local TRU in Lynnwood, WA. Definitely the best designed of the Atlantis creatures.

You mean like Gringotts in the Diagon Alley set? Not modular, but clearly LEGO has the same sort of idea as you do.

The ridged 2x2 bricks will also be appearing on some of the rockets in the upcoming Space subtheme of City.

Wow! Is that a transparent head? That will probably be my first one (at least, first actual transparent head used on a minifig). I also like the shield's green parts, though I'd prefer it if the shield itself wasn't green.

I really want the temple set now. It looks good and the minifigs are great. I hope it's cheaper than the portal set, which was about $160 here, I think? That new key is also very tempting. I may also get the Gateway of the Squid set as it could be a good entrance to the temple.

They've started appearing in certain places-- the ones I know of include certain Toys 'R' Us stores in the United States. Sets usually start showing up a month or two before the "official" release date; it's nothing out-of-the-ordinary.

It's not new.It's been in scooter set with sharkman.

It's technically a new version compared to the first version that appeared in the 2010 sets. But it's not new to 2011-- it appeared in plenty of 2010 sets, specifically the summer sets. It's a much better plastic than the first one and a somewhat more attractive mold, to boot.

Just finished building 7976 ocean speeder.It's a neat set,with a couple new part's.For example,a gunmetal harpoon,and propeller,and a trans-yellow visor.However it's what's on the instructions that interest's me.I have a good picture of the temple!Heres what I see:The treasure key's colors is dark red and gold,It has a greek letter alpha on the center,The crab mans claws have to be held sideways be straght,He has incredible eye and mouth printing,The lurps on the sides have a Alpha on them,And at the back of the temple,there are(probably stickers)Pictures of armed mermaids!Also saw underwater walker and anglerfish attack.

Wait, where? It might just be me, but I see no differences. The colour looks a bit lighter though.

Edit: oh wait, it's not new. It was in most sets, but some (impulse sets and possibly others) had a less detailed mould made out of crappy rubbery stuff. I have two of said tridents, so I'll probably replace them once I get the temple set, assuming I do...
