user Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) The temple does look nice but the fish man looks VERY awkward. But I do look forward to seeing these crab people. Edited September 16, 2010 by computerbug Quote
Oky Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I do look forward to seeing these crap people. The what? Quote
user Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) The what? I mean crap people I swear! Why is it that whenever I make a typo it's always I word that completely changes the sentence? Edited September 17, 2010 by computerbug Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I mean crap people I swear! Well, that temple looks nice, but I won't get it at this rate. No mention of the squid warrior! Unhappy face. Perhaps I'll wait until Gateway of the Squid is on clearance and see if I can quickly snap one up. The new minifigs are good, though. The angler fish warrior reminds me a bit of that Space Police alien (the new blue one, also with an oversized head). The hammerhead sounds a tiny bit like Squidman (also Space Police). I hope it's a new head mould altogether, because I don't think that head will work... I see a treasure key! I almost have all of them except for the yellow one, so I may be able to save a bit if it's available in another set. Finally, the helmet which is included in the Anglerfish Attack set is sort of useless without a wearer. The Drill Submarine has "golden armament pieces". Is this more gold armour? Again welcome, but useless at the same time... Quote
Oky Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 For any of you who might have missed it or just want to see it again, CN is showing the Atlantis mini-movie again tomorrow, Saturday, at 11:30 am EST. Quote
prateek Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Those new 2x2 rounds looks really nice! I also like that fat fish warrior. It reminds me of Rock Bottom from Spongebob Quote
user Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 What the?!? I double checked that post yesterday to make sure it said crab! My computer is possessed! Quote
CMP Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I think Lego may cheap out on this one and ust give us a recolored Jawson fig for the angler man. Couldn't care less though - this looks amazing! I wonder what that mecha arm on the top will lead to. Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 What the?!? I double checked that post yesterday to make sure it said crab! My computer is possessed! Didn't check hard enough, then. I just noticed that the statue's helmet is actually the one from the collectible minifig. I thought it was the guardian helmet. Although I should get two new minifigs out of the new wave, I still would like the portal guardian, which I hope will be in a set. I still hope the squid warrior will also be in a set, but I can get that fairly easily, provided it's on clearance. Quote

CMP Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I don't know...that preliminary picture looks a lot different than Jawson. Not really. It's just got those tusks and a fin on top, other than that and the color, it's very similar. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Actually, according to the German forum that the picture came from, there IS a red crab man minifig in some of the sets. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 also on the German site it says there is a hammer head figure. Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Not really. It's just got those tusks and a fin on top, other than that and the color, it's very similar. I don't know. The oversized head seems to be the only similarity to me. Something interesting to note is that the fins extend rather far down the torso almost to the bottom of the whole minifig. Might be a bit hard to stand because of this, and it looks even more absurd due to that. Although I won't be getting it, one thing that will improve the temple set drastically is if there were more columns. I know it's meant to be ruined and everything, but it looks too small (ironically, as it's pretty large for my standards) and plain. Some other sets contain pieces of ruins, and I'm guessing that the pieces are collectible and you can combine those pieces with this set so it will appear more complete. That sounds like an interesting idea. The trouble with that, though, is that the set is visibly small and combining them won't really be possible without some extending. Either way, the fragments will still be useful to me even without the temple. If the temple falls into the same price tag as the Gateway of the Squid set (which I doubt, but still), I may end up getting it on clearance. I just hope that the crab warrior is in a smaller set. Vindicare Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Not really. It's just got those tusks and a fin on top, other than that and the color, it's very similar. Aside from those it also has different size, shape, color, location of eyes, fins on the lower jaw, and the shape of the head is completely different. The only way they are the same is the lower jaw comes down in front. Quote

But I love this fish monster guy. I wouldn't call him an "angler", but he's definitely something out of the deep sea. Quote
Vindicare Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Haha, good find! Not a bad resemblance, maybe a cousin? Anyone have other teaser pics for new Atlantis stuff? Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 That temple is just fantastic do I spy a golden fish with my eye BTW did anyone go onto the next page off the link and see the new creator house pics heres the link to the page http://www.imperiumdersteine.de/showthread.php?t=21089&goto=nextnewest Quote
Algernon Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 That temple looks fantastic! I was expecting something less authentic looking, but that actually looks great. I have no problems with the fish man. He looks every bit as cartoony and poorly proportioned as all of the Atlanteans we've seen so far. I want to see more pics! Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Nausi- might I request pics of the Atlantis line? Quote

Baylego Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Nice! Those new column pieces look sweet and I am sure that a lot of uses will be found for those. The new fish guy looks sweet, too. Anyone else notice the dark green rubber tentacles? Those will be great for seaweed or a giant monster. Quote
