Wow, would you like an apology? I'm sure it took you a whole 10 extra seconds. :hmpf:

Well it is a little off mark that you warn about it being confidential, only to essentialy double the number of times it has been posted while you do so. It's a polite reminder that quoting retains the image from the original post.

I do hope, however that everyone now knows not to post the images on Eurobricks as it causes TLG to reassess their opinion of Eurobricks and means less awesome prizes for contests and suchlike.

Not the best way to talk to a Peppermint_M, considering she has not spoken to you like that.

Anyway, looking at the pictures, anyone noticed that the crab's claws are connected onto minifigure hands, and that the green one has fins molded on to his arms? Pretty exiting stuff. I have to confess, I ended up getting none of the last wave, so this one really exites me.

It looks like next years gift of big sisterly awesomeness will certainly be from the Atlantis line (Last Year it was the Galactic Enforcer, this years will likely be chosen tomorrow at Legoland) because my little brother is very much a fan of sea creatures and monsters in his Lego. With Power Miners trailing off and all other themes not really ticking his boxes.

I will probably pick up at least one of these sets, but most of my budget is reserved for all of Pharaoh's Quest!

Just a comment on the crab claw: I bought the newest Krusty Krab just for the novelty of having Spongebob, and I was mildly irked that Mr. Krabs still had standard minifigure hands - now I can update the little guy like he deserves (oh but it'll be a problem when he cant hold his money :look::tongue: )

I think I can see a black hand holding the claw, so I don't know if it's a new hand peice. :sceptic: And the claws have parts carved out so they can hold minifig objects and money. :classic:

Yes, that would be a BIG problem, but like indianajones said, they seem capable of holding things, so this should be a good addition to good ol' Krabs, even though they might be a bit big for the little guy.

I don't think that that "crab" figure is indeed a crab. I think he might be a lobster, though I could be wrong. It looks more like a lobster to me at any rate. It's the golden pieces sticking up off it's head and sort of spiny tail at the back that looks lobsterish to me.

Yeah, I think you're right; it doesn't really feel "crabby" to me either, more "lobsterish". And if there's anything better than Crab People, it's Lobster people!

zoidberg.jpg

I'm trying to figure that out to, but I think it's the back of it's fin, but not sure.

I have enhanced the pics with Photoshop using the "Auto" functions (I can really recommend you to do the same!), and yes, I'm pretty sure it's just part of the back/headpiece.

Anyone else irked by the switch from lime to yellow? :sceptic: I don't like it since it just went from my favorite color to my least favorite color, and then there's the issue of bare-looking arms. The new leg prints are indeed nice though.

Blacktron fans should be happy next year though.

Sounds like you've got a cool brother. I've got two that really like lego, but don't take care of them. a few years back, I gave my ENTIRE collection to them thinking they would take care of them and enjoy them, but they did neither. I lost half of my total parts, most of which were rare pieces, and a good portion of what was left was broken or with teeth marks.

Needless to say, I salvaged what was left and stored it away lol.

Back on topic, though, I find that the more I look at it, the more I like the hammerhead minifig. It's very unique in every way. It's a headwear, but the minifig head looks like it's lust red with tooth printing on it, so it's sort of got my thumbs up.

The angler dude looks cool- his eyes are great. Very psychotic looking. But only two teeth feels a bit bare. I would like to see some smaller teeth molded onto the mouth of the head piece, but other than that, it's a fantastic fig.

Finally, the crab man just looks amazing. Very armored, not too silly and all around bad big behind. He even has claw hands which will be great for anyone making a Davey Jones fig....

And the head part has TWO connection points! the more the merrier in my book. Those golden antennae look ridiculous, but they're removable, so I've got no complaints. I think that I will save up the 60 bucks and buy this set.

And then the fact that we get more of the portal emperor armour is really cool. It's a fantastic mold, and I'm happy to have as much of it as I can get. I think it's cute that every set but the impulse features a little white pillar.

Lego went above and beyond with this wave, that's for sure

Speaking of the columns, does it bother anyone else that they all seem to have the "rolls" (Modified 1 x 1 plate with Clip Light + pearl gold stud) only on one side? Kinda cheap if you ask me. :sceptic: Oh well.

I wouldn't say cheap, but it does kinda suck. Still, though, there's an abundance of gold in this and the egypt theme, so I think I'll be set for gold parts.

I agree. I probably won't get it either way though, which is a shame as it looks to be the best looking out of the three new minifigs.

After two pics I was hoping that was the case but still couldn't tell if it was a tail in the back or stuck to the arms - awesome.

I always thought it was part of the headpiece (meaning the back). I still think it's that case. I wouldn't be too surprised if the arms were different, as we've seen modified hands for claws already. Looking at alternate angles, though, I'm pretty sure that that's part of the head (the angle is best in that temple set).

I think the new creatures are okay, but too bulky and have a little too much detail. The crab/lobster one looks fine though. The colour scheme change is welcome, though. I personally prefer the variety between colours from green to yellow.

[Hi guys sorry to repeat my last question but in more succinct form does anyone know if the Atlantis theme will last throughout 2011? Or even into 2012??

Posted

I quite like the new colour palette with richer tones, and the classical ruins replacing the 'fantastic' buildings of the previous wave. I didn't consider previous Atlantis sets as attractive part packs, but dropping the trans-bright green parts and adding the tan bits might just get me interested in some of the sets. And the minifigs are fairly spectacular by themselves. Hmm, overall this wave is a big improvement over the last as far as I'm concerned!

I'm sorry if this has come up before, but do you think (like I do) that all the pieces in the pillars will be the new round 2x2 bricks with grooves, and not just the whites? I say that they only had the white done for the prelims, but the sets will have the golden ones grooved as well!

Posted

In the beginning I was not particularly a fan of the Atlantis sets, but the 2011 line looks very good. Great buildings, great creatures.

TLC also seems to invest more attention to expanding the creatures (which is also the case with the skeletons in the NinjaGo theme and the mummies in the PharaoQuest theme). I like it. The fantasy era skeletons for instance were really lame as opposed to the crownies. The current lines split the awesomeness over the good and the bad minifigs.

Best, K.

Could be either way I suppose, maybe the designers went for different textures on purpose? And are these grooved round bricks really white, or tan? I would rather have tan, but they do look more like white in the pictures. :sceptic:

Hello everybody! :classic:

Sometimes you only have to have much luck. And today I had that much luck since I was allowed to look into the retailer’s catalogue for the first half of 2011.

There even the new Atlatnis sets were pictured.

Since I'm really no fan of Atlantis I only had a very short look at the pics:

There are many red vehicles.

There will be a huge set with some sort of Roman/Greek temple which's columns can collapse.

And there'll be even a small set with some Roman/Greek columns.

More I do not remember. I hoped I helped you. :classic:

Where can i find some pictures?

I'm not a fan of the Atlantis theme. Mostly because it doesn't fit my own image of Atlantis and seems more like a Jules Verne story in Lego, but I do love those new ribbed column bricks. so many uses for those. I'm looking forward to seeing the golden figure in the temple set. damn shame the confidential watermark covered it up.

I don't think it would've been that special even if you could see it, I'm pretty sure it was just the Warrior from series 2 in the prelim.

Thanks again.

The sets look very nice. It's a pity there is only one real building. A few more ruins (not just columns) would have been great. But otherwise the Atlantis theme is still amazing. It gets better with every wave. I hope it isn't the last one.
