r4-g9 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) New pics of the Ninjago 2011 sets are on Smartwii's Flickr page i can see 4 different sets they are: skelten tank, earth dragon attack, blacksmith's shop, and the fire temple. Edited December 24, 2010 by r4-g9 Quote
Baylego Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Blacksmith shop! Does this mean we might see some civilians, or Japanese-styled people that aren't ninjas? I am looking forward t seeing pics of that set. Also, the temple has to be way expensive, because the fire dragon is a part of the temple now. Quote

The shop will probably be something directly related to the ninjas, like their own personal blacksmith or something. Quote
God Iron Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 There is a Mountain Shrine set as well. It's good we are getting more 'ninja-like' sets in the next wave. Quote

Delta 38 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 New pics of the Ninjago 2011 sets are on Smartwii's Flickr page Ah, I see. Cue hyperventilation. It seems that those sets are indeed real, however, it's a shame that the temple and fire dragon aren't separate. This is going to raise the prices quite a bit, so I may skip it. There are also spinner sets for Sensei Wu (seemingly with black outfit! Yes!), two new skeletons (probably the big-headed ones) and Garmadon. The blacksmith set may be interesting... Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 (edited) I just got 4 spinner sets and have to say they were well worth the price all new molds for the skellies and the ninjas printing is amazing Also cole comes with octagonal hilts same with kai Edited December 24, 2010 by Darth Jar Jar Quote
Oky Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I tried enhancing some of the pics as much as I could. Enjoy! 2254 Mountain Shrine Other sets Too bad the temple is bundled with the fire dragon. I might have considered getting it if it were on its own, but I'm not going to now. It's good, though, that Sensei and Garmadon get their own spinner packs. By the way, I saw a Ninjago commercial on TV yesterday. Apparently "Ninjago" is the name of the land the ninjas live in and is pronounced "Ninjaaago". Quote

prateek Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I like the temple and the Earth Dragon. It looks like those models posted earlier were these sets, so judging from that, we're gonna get an amazing Japanese style building! Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 The temple and dragon are really great! I'll definetly get those two. Blacksmith sounds interesting, hopefully we'll see more pics soon! Quote
Oky Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I think I finally figured out what the little image in the lower left corner of the Blacksmith Shop is supposed to show: It looks like the roof of the shop tilts up to reveal a weapons rack. Quote
Cutty Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Hmm, I originally intended to get the Spinjitzu-dojo set for Sensei Wu and cool architecture. Now I find the bigger fire temple set to be more fit for my tastes, as it includes Lord Garmadon with 2 skellie-minions and a skeleton brute, Sensei Wu, red, blue and white ninjas, the fire dragon (which isn't too hot, if you ask me :-( Pun intended! ) and an even better architecture. And a new sword piece (as seen in the movie). Sure it's more expensive, but there's all the goodness I need. Earth dragonS WILL strengthen my troll army! Colourwise they're perfect. Those pieces around the neck make it look like a frilled lizard of sorts. Which I like! And to add to that "heroic girl" discussion: Why is everybody thinking of the femininja as a "damsel in distress" in the dark fortress set? There is clearly no indication for that on the box art whatsoever! Much to the contrary, I might argue: She is clearly running with a katana in hand, HEADS ON!, into the thick of battle to aid red ninja in his struggle with the brute. From behind! = Theatrical ninja-style! Can I hear you say "sneak attack"? Then she's actually in a set that portrays the good taking the baddies on on their own grounds. She'd have to be a real "trooper" to ba a part of such a mission! All in all I find her to be a better example of femifigs in action themes! My 2 €-cents. Be well all! Cutty Quote
Geki Brick Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Can we sue if the katana we get in the box isn't the same on the box cover? I am certain that on the box, the black katana in Ninja Training Outpost is octagonal-hilted, not square. If I get a square one, I will rage. I just got 4 spinner sets and have to say they were well worth the price all new molds for the skellies and the ninjas printing is amazing Also cole comes with octagonal hilts same with kai Hallelujah! I may be mistaken, but it seems the back of the box shows Nya locked in one of the prison cells. I had a feeling the fire dragon will be a part of the temple set! Now it looks less colorful, which is a good for me. Edited December 25, 2010 by Corydoras Quote
Delta 38 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) According to Tin7's reviews, the spinner packs have Chinese plastic minifigures while the sets don't. My plans are completely ruined, because I don't think I'd be quite content with having a mix of the two, especially when the better version is available. I don't mind Chinese plastic too much, though when given an alternative I'll take it. Of course, what this means is I'm going to buy as many sets as possible to get an army. Now I'm definitely crazy. Edit: the gallery has gone, too bad if you missed it. I made it in time, though. The monster truck indeed contains Garmadon (yay!). The fire temple is very appealing now that there are three ninjas in it, good because of the spinner issue. I can't see if the black version of Sensei Wu is still there, but I assume so. Baylego Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Guess what! I found the Turbo Shredder at Target today! I was disappointed at all of the bad sets on clearance until I saw this. I didn't buy it, but I am going to start searching hard for these. Quote
r4-g9 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 earlyer today at the tru in red deer ab i found all of the ninjago sets except for the dojo. i got the skelten chopper ice dragon, trubo shreader, and garmodon's dark fortess, and my brother got all of the spinners, and the two cheapest sets. i will not make a review but i will answer questions. Baylego Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Was this in Canada or the US? And when I saw the box at target yesterday there was an ad on the bottom of the package for Lego Ninjago Battles for DS. This sounds exciting, the last battles game was very fun for me! Quote
ziljin Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I see Ninjago sets at Lego US S@H. I want the Ninja Ambush, Spinjitzu Dojo, Garmadon's Fortress, and Ninja Training Outpost. The rest have too few minifigs for their price. I just want some ninjas and skeletons for future armies. Quote

They're kinda cool, and I think I should try out new stuff besides Lego Action Figures. Quote
