The_Box Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 TWTaylor, where did you see that? I went to 3 different Targets in New Jersey and the 2 that had NinjaGo sets had the pricetag for the Dojo as $49.99. However I did grab the Turbo Shredder, Ninja Ambush, Krazi, and Chopov. BTW, for anyone in the state of New Jersey, Targets in Princeton and East Brunswick have NinjaGo but the Target in East Winsor (which is closest to me) does not. Quote

The_Box, I'm in Central Texas, and have seen that at 3 different Targets. Finally picked it up last night in San Marcos (between San Antonio and Austin). Target.com mobile also listed it as $39.99 when I looked it up on my iPhone and used the find in store function. I was at Lego store yesterday too, and it was $49.99 there, so I held off and picked it up at Target for $10 less. Maybe I can snag a snap shot of the shelf next time at Target. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Target.com and dang it, they're "out of stock" now. probably fixing the price.. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Comparison of the Skullcycle in production and the prototype: I prefer the prototype by far. and thankfully, it's a quick reversion, using less than 40 common extra parts (16 being bushings and studs) In fact, at $15, I think I'll buy a duplicate and keep one of each Quote
manta5 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Boxed sets in Australia. I found them in Melbourne and got the dojo and ambush sets, they gave me a cole keychain for free. They are in toyworld at forest hill! Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) Comparison of the Skullcycle in production and the prototype: Oh, that's interesting. Most images I've seen are of the motorcycle in its prototype version. Unlike you, I prefer the newer version as it looks more futuristic and clean. One modification I'd like to make is remove those two technic connectors at the sides of the skull and replace them with white ones to give a better impression of horns. Edit: Wait a second, is the first one the prototype or the production version? I now think the first one is actually the production version. I prefer the lower one anyhow. They really should have kept that design if that is the prototype... Edited January 6, 2011 by Delta 38 Quote

Yep, prototype is the lower one, and I agree - they certainly seemed to downgrade Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Yep, prototype is the lower one, and I agree - they certainly seemed to downgrade Actually I think they change it because if they kept it like the prototype its teeth an light would hit into the front tire when you used the attack function. toatali Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 (edited) Some (new?) sets on UK Amazon. Ninjago Battle Arena NinjaGo Skeleton Bowling NinjaGo BrickMaster NinjaGo Music Album!? Even if you already knew of these, now you know how much they cost in the UK! Edited January 7, 2011 by toatali Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I actually don't see the motorcycle's final version as a downgrade, it's mostly substitutions of parts to eliminate any fragile components and to make the design look more flush and liken it to other production sets. Those engine scoop parts look like they'll come of every time you round a corner with this thing, so they might have replaced them with something slimmer to make for a better play feature. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I found very interesting pic on BS: Thats why the spinners are so expensive! They have metal inside! Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I bet they all have to be calibrated to ensure they spin properly and the labor is included in the price... Quote

Those engine scoop parts look like they'll come of every time you round a corner with this thing, so they might have replaced them with something slimmer to make for a better play feature. That may be, but at least the skull design looks better in my opinion. It looks more alien with those teeth. I found very interesting pic on BS: Thats why the spinners are so expensive! They have metal inside! I see, I see. Yeah, that would be logical. If the spinners were just plastic, they wouldn't spin very well. They must be confident about the success of these spinners, because we've got clear packaging, metal components and competition to other collectible tops and things. Overall, that adds up to a very expensive price, especially here. They are about $16 or so, and that's nearly enough to buy a battle pack. Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Ugh! I should've guessed! Beyblades have metal pieces like the ones on the Ninjago ones to ensure a better spin, I should have related the two. Still not buying the tops now though. I'll wait for the ones with the better figs in the summer. Quote

Clearly the seller marked up the price. Quote
Oky Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Didn't we already know that there is metal in the spinners since the first reviews which said the spinners are really heavy? It's good to see confirmation of that though, I guess. NinjaGo Music Album!? Not music album, audio-play. It's probably the Ninjago movie voice-overs with narration. TFGuy89 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Hello, do forgive me for asking, but I didn't get a good look at the Summer Ninjago sets when they were leaked and now they've been taken down. Could you guys kindly tell me if 2507 Fire Temple has all the minifigures as listed in this Brickipedia article? Were they sighted or is this a guess? Thanks. Quote
Oky Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Judging by the prelim box art, yes, that list sounds about right. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) After seeing some Youtube reviews, I must say the discs and their lauching mechanism (for minifigs) are really clever constructed... Heh, Now I HAVE to buy at least one set with disc! I Can't wait to play it. So what are we waiting for? Let's scream NINJA GO! Haha, how I could forget about this one! I can't help but wonder how many poeple have tried the spinner game aspect of Ninjago. I know a lot of AFOLs have commented on not getting the spinners, but we're actually enjoying it quite a bit. To the point that so far I've based my purchase decisions on whether or not the set comes with additional cards! The SPinjitzu Dojo ad Battle Arena for those keeping score. I can't stress enough how nice it is to see my kids (and self) on the floor playing with their legos. For those AFOLs who don't care for the game aspect, please feel free to contact me about sending me your cards. Between me and three kids, we could always use more. :) Quote
Pirate Pete Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I just got the dragon set and I can honestly say that I love everything about it. the shurekiens are great, the dragon is very cool. I just wish that the skeleton came with some armor. Quote

prateek Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 That NinjaGo clock looks awesome! I'm also interested in knowing more about that video game. Thanks for sharing r4-g9! Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Thank you for those pictures! Though I think you need to resize them.. Hmm I hope we get more clocks from different themes as well, and the DS game will probably be like the Smash game at Lego.com Quote
