Klaus-Dieter Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Did you see any decor or is it all minifigure based? I don't remember that there was much apart from a small baseplate (not the one included in the Minifigure Series packs) and weaponry included. KD, did you hear anything about when new KINGDOMS sets might be coming out? No, regrettably not. But since Kingdoms was released in this year's summer it's imo even very likely that we'll see some new sets in summer 2011. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Sirius Black Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Well, this looks to be a bit of a disappointing theme. It is obviously directed to the younger range of Lego fans. If all that this theme is is differently colored minifigs, this is pretty disappointing. It is like a spin-off of the collectible minifigs. A dark red ninja or a dk. green one sounds interesting though Sirius Quote
Professor Trelawney Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I think, I would only buy one of these sets for a Pink or Purple Ninja! Quote

I personally am hoping for a lime green ninja! Quote

So it is confirmed that the mold will be the same as the previous ninjas? Sirius Quote
Aanchir Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 In addition to the color differences, nobody seems to have contemplated what weapons these ninjas might have. Remember any details about that, Klaus? I'm certain that if there's any AFOL interest in these sets whatsoever, the accessories will be a key aspect people will be looking at. After all, that's where a lot of the market for custom parts is, so clearly that's an area AFOLs see room for expansion on LEGO's part. Myself, I'm not all that interested. If I ever had an interest in obtaining a greater variety of ninja colors, I'd have purchased more Ninja sets from the second wave of the historic theme. As it is, I liked the original Ninja theme, but the minifigs and accessories haven't really kept my interest over the years, so I doubt I will have much interest in this theme. The colors as they are being described don't bother me at all, though. I loved the Knights' Kingdom II theme, and feel that bright colors, while unrealistic, are an enduring part of the LEGO brick's and minifig's appeal. Even as an AFOL I definitely prefer vivid colors to dingy browns and grays in most circumstances. Quote
Oky Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I'm hoping for some nunchuks. They wouldn't need to have an actual chain, something rubbery like the handcuffs piece or the new whip would do. Quote
Cecilie Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I'm hoping for some nunchuks. They wouldn't need to have an actual chain, something rubbery like the handcuffs piece or the new whip would do. Oh, yes! I'd love some nunchucks! Some throwing stars would be cool as well. And perhaps a sai? (yes, I was a Ninja Turtles fan as a kid ) Quote
Fires-storm Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) A sai would be insanely awesome! Some that I would like are the ball and chain they sometimes used, or a scythe, as they often used farm implements as weapons too! Also, a blow gun could be a lot of fun Edited August 20, 2010 by Fires-storm Quote
Cutty Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Mmmh. Seems I'm late to the party again, but anyway. While this collectible-game stuff sounds, well, "new" I'd say everything with ninjas deserves some interest on my part. Even if it turns out to be just another "parts-mine"-line. Quote
PhaTic Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Hmmmmm..... this is really interesting. Sorta sounda like a modern ninja theme. I really want to see the Violet ninjas the most. I hope theres new minifigure pieces! Quote
Ignited_Impulse Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 If it's an opportunity to expand my ninja minifigs I'll take it. I missed out on the collectible figs so a guaranteed ninja sounds cool. Just hope they have the good sturdy katanas from when they were first introduced. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I sure can. I'm not seeing anything. Am I meant to be seeing something? I can't think of why I wouldn't see something I'm meant to see, unless the thing that I clearly can't see that I'm supposed to see has been repressed so much from my own memory that I can't see it. Batbrick Away! Quote

CMP Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) Information on Ninjago courtesy of hawkboy4. I'm just putting it here. Ninjago! Ne mix of Beyblades and trading card game. On a disk are characters with different weapons, you can let them fight against each. The disc seems to have put himself in the rotation and there are a variety of new weapons in the sets. Inter alia a large bone, katana, swords, spears in damask-look, a short chain and something like a war hammer. Lego praises the parts as a low-price products, and I think € 9.99 per figure with accessories already quite steep. Maybe I have but only enough money for that. There are 12 different characters to purchase individually. I like to alternate as needed by one. There are then also suitable Speilsets: 2260 Ice Dragon € 19.99 - Exo-Force meets Ninja 2263 Turbo Shredder € 29.99 - Creepy 2505 Garmadons fortress € 69.99 - I hope there is pictures soon so you can see the stuff too! 2504 Spinjitzu Training Centre € 39.99 - The name says it all! 2516 Ninja outpost € 4.99 2258 Ninja ambush € 6.99 2259 Skeleton Chopper € 14.99 - Worth noting that Lego has here provided a skeleton with a helmet, which is strongly reminiscent of a Wehrmacht helmet. Oky Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) From 1000steine.de (translated by yours truly): Ninjago!A mixture of Beyblades and trading cards. On a disc, there are figures with different weapons that you can duel with. The disc seems to rotate and move and there are several new weapons in these Sets, including a large bone, Katana, swords, spears in Damast-Look, a short chain (nun-chuck?) and something like a war hammer. Lego advertises these as low-price products, but I find 9.99€ for a figure with accessories rather pricey. Perhaps I just don't have the money for something like this. There are 12 different figures to buy separately. I can describe them to you individually on request. In addition, there are playsets to go along with them: 2260 Ice Dragon 19,99€ - Exo-Force meets Ninja 2263 Turbo-Shredder 29,99€ - Spooky! 2504 Spinjitzu Training Center 39,99€ - the name says it all! 2505 Garmadon's Fortress 69,99€ - I hope there will be pics soon so you can see this stuff for yourself! 2516 Ninja Outpost 4,99€ 2258 Ninja Ambush 6,99€ 2259 Skeleton Chopper 14,99€ - It's notable here that Lego included a Skeleton with a helmet that closely resembles that of the Wehrmacht (WW2 armed forces). He also says there will be a boardgame, 3856 Ninjago-Tempel 24,99€ I'm very glad there will be real sets in this theme, and they all sound very intriguing! And yay for nun-chucks! EDIT: I guess CallMePie has beaten me to it. Edited September 16, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I remember when they had normal ~Ninjas~ and you knew what you were getting(I'm geussing they'll be like the collectable figs). ( )Putting ninjas on spinning top things? That'll never work, they'll get too dizzy. And what could an orange or violet ninja hide in front of? A rainbow? The themes Lego comes up with now are so confusing...( ) Quote

Oky Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) Not only that, but apparently Ninjas VS. Undead Nazi Biker Skeletons with Technology! Edited September 17, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Zarkan Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Hm, it's nice to hear that there are actual playsets, but ten euros for one small minifigure and acessories? That would translate to 13 dollars in American money. I know that probably won't be the real price, but it seems like it will be rather high regardless. Quote
CMP Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) You're right, but I think each ninja with acssesories is meant to be a main character sort of thing. Edited September 17, 2010 by CallMePie Quote
Oky Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I'm pretty sure it will be the same number, but with a dollar sign in front of it, like always. And don't forget that each ninja also comes with at least one card and one of those spinning disk thingies. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) These sets sound great. Though I asume theY will be wearing mask I hope the have doubble printed heads. Edited September 17, 2010 by LEGOMAN132 Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Are they just building this theme on Rule of Cool? If so, it isn't a problem to me! I want pictures! Quote
