Great news! After some flirting with the glamourous assistant at TRU I managed to get a NinjaGo set! This is in London btw. I got the training set with the blue dragon ninja and those lovely beige skeletons. I haven't opened it yet as I'm in the car waiting for my girlfriend. I'll tell you more when I get home.

You'll review, right? :classic:

Curse ye flu and snow! Ye confine mineself to mine abode!

*gumps* Bah, if I wasn't ill and it wasn't scary bad snow outside, I would be off to both TRU in the near area to seek out the new sets :hmpf_bad:

Glad to see they are out here in the UK soon.

£29.99. It's an okay price I guess. I don't really care because the figure is great! Shame there are no real skeletons though.

I will upload some photos to flickr for you lot to enjoy probabley tomorrow.

I wish they could be more clear with the sword hilts. I remember Hagrid's Hut where you got square hilts when the picture had octagonals. I hope these katana are exactly what the picture on the box shoes.

P.s. i prefer octagonals to squares.

They are squares. :P

One thing I noticed, LEGO just had to include flick fire missiles in the training set didn't they?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions about the hilts on the swords. I've had a few recent sets where what I've obtained varies from the Bricklink inventory, hinting that there's some variation. Since the square hilts are newer, best to expect squares, but some octagonals might occasionally show up.

True, but in the set I have they are squares.

Wow. A lot of these sets are very overpriced. The only sets that are good value are the Ninja Training Outpost, Ninja Ambush, Skull Motorbike, and Skeleton Bowling. I also realised this is the biggest line of sets in one theme I've seen in a long time.

what the hell are you talking about all ALL of these sets are flippin awesome :hmpf_bad:

I didn't say they are bad. I'm just saying they are overpriced.

They all look okay, but the pricing is terrible. If you want the ninjas but you don't want to pay 10 dollars for each, do this:

Get Ninja Ambush. You will get Red ninja.

Get Ninja Training. You will get Black ninja.

Get skeleton Chopper. You will get Blue ninja.

Get Ice dragon. You will get White ninja.

This would work if you just want the ninjas, but not the spinner or cards. Also, in three of the sets you get a skeleton with it. So in all, you pay 47 dollars for all four, but if you paid seperatly for the ninjas it would cost 10 dollars each, and you wouldn't get a vehicle or a building structure.

Only problem with that strategy is that the white ninja would be wearing the dragon-riding uniform, but none of the others would be. Still, I agree, the spinners are overpriced, and I'm certain the packaging contributes significantly to that. Probably worthwhile to aim for the larger sets and bypass the spinners unless the game aspect totally appeals to you.

I kinda think the bigger sets are not tht good of a value either.

The Dojo has 373 pieces and is 50 bucks. Could of at least had 400 pieces. And if you really think of it, its only 3 walls connected with a platform in the middle. The battle arena and the fortress are a little better, but still not that great.

An added baseplate and a few tiles on the baseplate for the spinners to spin on would make it much better. :hmpf_bad:

I agree they are expensive but there are a lot of unique pieces and colors with this theme, so it may be worth the tag price, although the spinners are not gonna sell well to adults (pity really there are some neat accessories)

Well I guess thats what BL is for, right? :sweet:

The spinner arena would be tempting except that the only LEGO elements included are the sensei and the spinner, which is NOT worth $14.00. If the arena were at least lego compatable or some kind of baseplate, it would be well worth that price, but I'd rather save up a whole lot for a big set with the sensei than waste a fair amount of better spent money on a cheap bit of gimmicky plastic and a cool fig.

I really hope LEGO doesn't try this cheap crap again.

I'm just gonna say it. The spinners are fun to play with :D

I now just realised there probabley won't be a lightning dragon, as the blue guy in the bowling set is a dragon guy. :/ I'm not sure if Lego will realease him twice.
