Posted August 10, 201014 yr For those who are not aware, BrickFair 2010, which held at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA, was this past weekend. BrickForge was there and unveiled some new products, some of which were requested by the fans. Click the thumbs to enlarge photos. These new items were first seen at BrickWorld 2010 and at the time were prototypes. They are now in full production. Most of the new items were only available in tan and dark tan, while other items (like the guitars, drumsticks) were available in several colors (they were only blue and red at BrickWorld). The official list of new products: - Centaur body piece - Mohawk (originally released at BrickWorld) - Flintlock - Musket - Drumstick (originally released at BrickWorld) - Guitar (originally released at BrickWorld) - Backpack - Ranger hat - Shepherd's Crook - Ammo pack - Lamp post - Violin - Tomahawk - Feather plume (not pictured) - Ponytail (not pictured) - Maverick hair (not pictured) And along with new products, new colors were introduced: Trans Medium Blue and the highly requested Pearl Gold. Other recurring BF products were also seen in colors not released on the site, such as the Glow in the Dark Sovereign Sword pictured above. Along with the new BrickForge stuff, there was also the Custom Minifigs - Limited Edition Figures, a joint venture between BrickForge and fellow customizer Shmails. And now for something completely awesome: I cannot say when the new products will be available on the store, but with BrickFair now out of the way and until Armothe recovers, they should be put up very soon. Also look out for the Custom Minifigs website/store soon where you will be able to purchase these one-of-a-kind figs. Enjoy! -Omi Edited August 10, 201014 yr by Omicron
August 10, 201014 yr I can't wait until they sell them online! A lot of useful pieces i see especially the flintlock, the musket and the ammo bag!
August 10, 201014 yr Thanks for the information and the photos! Some time ago, I was going to make a Brickforge order, until I heard rumours of a centaur body. I had been trying for some time then to design one, I was even going to mod a horse's body. The centaur bodies are the highlight for me, they look just great. Good to hear they are in full production. When they're out I'm going to buy a few of them right away, so I can finally create Harry Potter centaurs. I also like the other piece, the hairpiece and a few great accessories. But the centaurs are just awesome, great job of Armothe and it's so cool he really listens to his fans!
August 10, 201014 yr Now THESE look good. I can already see myself wanting the drumsticks, a couple of the electric guitars, an acoustic plus assorted hair. (plus I need to get the handsaw for my Series 1 magician and his "saw a woman in half" trick) The lamp post looks good too, as does the violin and the custom figs. (although if the price tags shown in the pictures for the custom figs are the actual prices, they are out of my price range :) I suspect the Ranger hat will lead to some custom Canadian Mountie figs.
August 10, 201014 yr This is awesome! I like the centaur body and the musical instruments the most. I hope the drumsticks are similar to the Harry Potter wands so I can use them instead of the bars that are to long. Can't wait until these are available! EDIT: I just noticed the ponytail would work great as hair for Aurra Sing! Edited August 11, 201014 yr by Baylego
August 10, 201014 yr "HOLY AWESOME PLASTIC, BATMAN!" *wiping drool from mouth* OMG, I LOVE those! I don't what I love more...the awesome centaur body, the hair, the guitar, the WICKED gladiator and knight figures... Seriously AWESOME job! Kudos and then some!
August 10, 201014 yr Great pictures Omi! The new stuff was incredibly popular, the brown centaurs sold out pretty quickly, and it seemed like everyone who checked out had a lamppost or some ammo packs. Even a few LEGO employees came over after the public left and drooled over some of the crazy stuff they saw! The custom figures went over pretty well as well. The Space Marine figures sold out in a day (I made 64 of them!), and the riot cops went quickly too. The prices are not cheap, but neither are the figures. Each has anywhere from 3-7 separate waterslide decals and are well sealed so they can be played with. The knights are made with printable fabric that is permanently attached to the torso and sealed so the designs will not fade over time. As Omi said, everything will be listed on Brickforge soon, and the Custom Minifig website is being worked on as we speak, and should be up soon. I will let everyone know when that happens. Take care, Shmails

I'm not surprised that stuff sold so quickly, especially those Space Marines. Quite sweet. I'm also not surprised that LEGO staff were drooling. There's some stuff there that TLG should have made YEARS AGO.
August 11, 201014 yr I remember buying some of their knights at Brickworld 2010 and made the Monty Python and the Holy Grail group, it was funny and cool. I am great full for them by making the Space Marines. Thank you Brickforge/BrickMania!
August 11, 201014 yr Author Thank you Brickforge/BrickMania! BrickMania had nothing to do with this. In fact they are a separate entity altogether. Just BrickForge. -Omi
August 11, 201014 yr The centaur is so cool! I also like the guitar and the drumsticks and the violin! I can't wait till they are on the online store!
August 11, 201014 yr I can't wait to make a rock band vignette! I don't know why the centaurs are so popular... I mean, sure, I want one... or more, but the only reason I could think of for them being so popular is for Harry Potter fans. If people are creating fantasy era castle themes, why didn't fantasy era do better and last longer?

Narnia also has centaurs, in fact I've always wanted to make the centaurs from Narnia... now I have the chance! I'm sure Harry Potter and Narnia aren't the only two movies with centaurs though! August 11, 201014 yr I don't know why the centaurs are so popular... I mean, sure, I want one... or more, but the only reason I could think of for them being so popular is for Harry Potter fans. Not a matter of popularity. It's a matter of logistics. Very few people have been able to construct a minifig-scale Centaur out of existing LEGO bricks (including us!). We felt it was our duty to fabricate a solution. Besides, we had to come up with the next best item for LEGO to drool over and send to their design crew. If people are creating fantasy era castle themes, why didn't fantasy era do better and last longer? Demand Volume. Not enough of it for LEGO to profit. Plenty of it for BF to keep chuggin' along. 300 sold at BrickFair indicate a positive debut! -A Edited August 11, 201014 yr by Armothe
August 12, 201014 yr I was too busy trying not to step on the little children to notice that these were new! I'm sure Harry Potter and Narnia aren't the only two movies with centaurs though! Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Lighting Thief has them too. Edited August 12, 201014 yr by Masked Builder

We felt it was our duty to fabricate a solution. Besides, we had to come up with the next best item for LEGO to drool over and send to their design crew. Like I said... I can't say why (although I am an HP fan) I want them, I just do... If it weren't for the people embarrassing TLG with their creative new products (yes, that even includes Mega), I doubt we would be as far along as we are with official LEGO, too... so hats off the brickforge, Big Ben, and all the others.

If people are creating fantasy era castle themes, why didn't fantasy era do better and last longer? Part video game fans would probably know that many video games have centaurs. The God of War series had tons of centaurs. If they wanted to recreate a video game scene from a video game with centaurs, monsters, and heroes, maybe they could add this to it.
August 12, 201014 yr I HAVE to get the drumsticks, mohawk, and guitar for my rock band MOC. They look awesome!
August 12, 201014 yr That flintlock looks very nice! I know this is probably a dumb question, but are Brickforge customs made out of ABS plastic? I just wonder because I've never bought them before, and I would just like to know.
August 12, 201014 yr Author but are Brickforge customs made out of ABS plastic? Yes and very high quality as well. -Omi
