Fires-storm Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Wow, it looks very nice indeed now, much like what you would see on any small town street corner. Well done, I can't wait to see the roofs and clothing Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks 'Fires-storm' for your kind comments - I'll be starting on the clothing racks today, working out which designs look the most target-realistic ! Stay tuned in and watch this space......keep those comments rolling in and of course......I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 I have been bust today, designing displays and light fittings so here's the latest (look carefully....you think you seen it before but......) Now one drawback I have is not enough female torso's etc., it was fine when I built the Mensland store but the front section of TC is part of ladiesware. I solved a problem in homewares, the gap by the curve window, yep a dumptable full of lampshades - that took me all of 5min to workout ! Now to find more female torso's and make some posters to hang up, plus then the roof ! Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
hhcBrick Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 The interior is looking good. I haven't come across this creation until today, I really like how you have done the curved glass windows. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 Thanks 'hhcBrick' for your kind words , I'm glad everyone likes the curved windows - styled just like Coles Stores were back in the 1930-1950's (check earlier posts for pictures/details). I have ready in the next few days posters and pretty display trim to be sticker printed and final plans for the roof are now underway ! More updates to come so .....I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 The fun and games for the roof have now begun and trying to work out plates across that gap is the fun part.....NOT ! I'll get there though. Anyway, any other merchandise suggestions or whatever, before I do the last stickering on this one ? I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Fires-storm Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Wow, those clothes racks are really well done! Good job mate, I'm sure the roof will be excellent! Quote
solta Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 "You can build a store, but details make it special." Great store. Very nice. I'm surprised how well everything looks. Quote
Solitary Dark Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Wow - I've just caught up but what a wonderful evolution of a project. We dont have Target in the U.K, and having been in many over the years in the U.S its highly recognisable. Is this to go in a City display - It needs a car park, street and customers ETC - it deserves them! Well done. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 29, 2010 Author Posted August 29, 2010 Thanks for the comments 'Fires-storm', 'solta' and 'mookage' - tomorrow I should be finishing this off and I'll start planning the extra footpaths for the road running past the store. Posting fresh pictures tomorrow and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 Latest pictures today...... Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 G'day everyone.....just a question.....is there enough in this MOC or does it need a little more ? Plus a hotel is next on the build list, but after that any suggestions ? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Good Cheer Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 That's really impressive! We like the exterior, the windows and many of the details of the furniture and stock inside. Very inspiring! I grew up on Target "suburb" so this is a small taste of the past and very welcome Quote

Very inspiring! I grew up on Target "suburb" so this is a small taste of the past and very welcome Thank you 'Good Cheer' - I'm glad you liked it. I'm still trying to come up with some more female torso's for the clothes rack, plus maybe another staff member too - tomorrow I'll decide. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Gee, I thought it was time for a wake up call. Anyway since I spent the last few days putting together Slave 1, Plo Koon's JSF, a shuttle and Fans Choice Public Transport....whew , my MOC's have taken a back seat, but....... Tomorrow another staff member gets added, plus I seriously look at putting some more merchadise near the doorway. Picture updates tomorrow ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Fires-storm Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Well done, the roof looks good, and i can't wait to see this beautiful store with yet more merchandise! I like how its coming out very well indeed Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 7, 2010 Author Posted September 7, 2010 B-OV-31A Well this is it....... Yeah, the girl with short hair is a bit more stacked ! Now the very final shot....well for now that is....... Tomorrow I'll start on my next MOC .....so I'm a conformist! ! Quote

Thank you 'TanTile' for your kind words , now my next MOC shall be..... the classic Aussie front bar....yep, a pub.....in the classic country town style with a galv iron roof, timber floor boards and a drunk sleeping on the bench seat out the front. So get ready for the next one starting tomorrow ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Fires-storm Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Well done, this looks truly brilliant! Have a stuffed crocodile over the front and name the pub the Croc Hunter Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 7, 2010 Author Posted September 7, 2010 Well done, this looks truly brilliant! Have a stuffed crocodile over the front and name the pub the Croc Hunter Thanks 'Fire-storm' for your comments - a stuffed croc eh ? - well maybe a giant bunyip instead ! Work starts tomorrow on the pub, in LDD mode first to get going ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote

Thanks 'metalgearsolid' for your kind words ....well today as I said my new MOC starts, already the wheels are turning inside my head, so keep a lookout....posting pix real soon ! I'm a conformist! ! JimBee Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Well done - this has really turned out from a small WIP to a full-blown replication MOC. I've only been in the regular, American Target stores, but this looks great from what I can tell. I especially like the ceiling, door, and window details. Looking forward to more of these stores from you, lightningtiger, I've already seen your small gas station. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 Thanks 'JimButcher' for those kind words , yes in Australia our Targets are more a clothing and homewares store with toys and tv's thrown in for good measure. The country branded stores are just like the old fashioned drapery stores of a hundred years ago. Today, I'm working on the picnic area of the servo and also hopefully back on to LDD for the hotel I'm designing - so I'm a conformist! ! Quote
