manglegrat Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 What about 2x2 and 2x4 versions of part #15672 (alt. 92946) Slope 45 2 x 1 with 2/3 Cutout? And a corner 2x2 version kinda like part #3045 but with 2/3 cut-out in the studded corner? I can think of a few uses for those... Would anyone else use these? Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Posted on @C0zmic's LEGOLAND non production parts, both @1974 and @whitswj have in their possession these two prototype 2 by 5 flat slope parts, one an inverse of the other. It would be cool to see Lego reconsider these, but any non-studded flat slope parts would be interesting to see. Spoiler Quote
jonwil Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 I haven't seen it mentioned but I wish they would produce the 1 x 1 round brick in Bright Orange. I could have sworn they did (I swear I have seen one somewhere) but Bricklink and Brickset dont show it as existing. Earth Green would also be nice to see. It would also be great to see the regular minifig legs in more colors from the "purple" color family (as defined by Brickset at https://brickset.com/colours/family-Purple/status-Current). The legs come in Medium Lilac which is great but more of the colors from that family would be great to see. Quote

A STUNNING REVERSAL Actually I think that the Chinese maker copied it from Hasbro/Kre-o ;) But that may indeed by seen as a "problem" for Lego : many parts left for them to "invent" were actually already "invented" by others, as these are logical derivatives from existing parts. jonwil Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Another part I just thought of a cool use for would be the 5-point crystal piece in Titanium Metallic. Quote

Takanuinuva Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 I don't think this new part has been discussed yet. It's found in the Ninjago City set http://www.newelementary.com/2017/08/a-stud-walks-into-bar.html Not sure what I'll use it for. But I want a bunch of them. Quote

It was a most ideal windshield part for six wide cars that could be angled at an pitch desired, unlike many current fixed windshield pieces. It'd be a little bit wider and would have a bar at the bottom rather than clips, but what about just using 2x 24093? It even already comes in Tr. Brown, albeit with printing. Quote

OK, I just looked at those slopes again of yours, and yeah, I mistakenly thought they were the ones @1974 had I'd pictured in my initial post. 11 hours ago, Aanchir said: It'd be a little bit wider and would have a bar at the bottom rather than clips, but what about just using 2x 24093? Legohead458 Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Duel moulded bricks, sounds silly but you'd be able to have two colours in the space of one brick = more detail Quote

I remember I while back ago on this topic, @MatthewRC had proposed an idea for a triangular 1 by 1 tile, to which some had said this would have absolutely no clutch power. So a dual molded one could create the same desired cosmetic effect without introducing a new piece. With parts that have dimensions as small as that, dual molding could be applied to them if ever needed. Quote
x105Black Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 (edited) It could be used for a 1 x 2 brick or plate to make what amounts to 2 different 1 x 1 elements fused together. This would be great for use in places where you are creating a tight build, but don't want to have a seam between the bricks for the sake of stability. Or you could do it lengthwise on other 1 x whatever bricks, for building sturdy walls with stone or brick on the outside and wood or painted sheet-rock on the inside, without the wall being 2 bricks thick. Lyichir Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I think one issue with dual-molded parts like the ones being described is that you'd need a completely distinct part each time you wanted a new color combination. So say if the part were introduced in Dark Stone Grey/Medium Stone Grey and White/Black—who knows how long you'd have to wait for Medium Stone Grey/Black, let alone color combinations involving a specific set of more vibrant colors? People who have been waiting on a particular color of dual molded arms or legs will know what I'm talking about—and at least then many combinations involving common skin tones like Yellow or Light Nougat are more likely, a sort of predictability you couldn't as easily count on with basic building elements. Another issue is that I'm pretty sure dual molded parts only have clean, regular seams like they do on dual molded legs or arms when they're overmolded (that is to say, the first color is injected into a smaller mold and then the mold changes and the second color is injected to fill the rest of the space). Overmolding is a more complex process, and might not even be feasible at all for tiny parts like the 1x1 or 1x2 plates and tiles being described, and without using that process, the colors would more likely "fade" into one another at the seam in an irregular fashion. Digger of Bricks Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 I would like to see a one brick high version of cone part 3942 (pictured below) done, something similar to an old part MegaBloks had done a long time ago, but that part had molded texturing into its sides. I tried looking for a picture of that piece, but with no success, since no one cares to catalog MegaBloks parts. But who would care anyway. Quote
x105Black Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Great points, dual molded bricks might not be feasible. Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 How about a two by three version of part no. 43710 and its inverse 43711 (both pictured below); that is, a stud shorter counterpart of this pair of slopes? Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 How about an eight stud wide, two brick high version of windshield part 62360 (pictured below)? Such a part could work nicely for Creator Expert scale cars. Quote

mocbuild101 Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Something I'd like to see, is Technic angle joiners with axle holes instead of pin holes - we already have the #1 version, in the form of 32039, so why not all the others? Quote
Takanuinuva Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 I might have mentioned this before. But I really want a one axle version of this. There have been so many times where that kind of part would have been perfect. We have a pin hole to axle version found in sets like Ikir. So why not an axle hole to axle version Quote
Digger of Bricks Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 I know everyone would love to have any canopy and/or windshield part recolored in Trans-yellow, but for me, there are a few in particular I would be thrilled to see. Here is list of the top ten canopy/windshield parts I would like to see in Trans-yellow: Part no. 45705 (SHELL 6X10X2 W/BOW/ANGLE, PC etc.) Part no. 41751 (SHELL 6X8X2 W/BOW/ANGLE etc.) Part no. 27165 (COCKPIT 4X10X2 1/3, W/ 3.2 SHAFT, NO. 1) Part no. 22483 (WINDSCREEN 4X5 1/2X1 1/3) Part no. 30372 (COCKPIT 4X7X2 FRIC/FORK etc.) Part no. 11289 (COCKPIT 4X4X4 2/3 W. Ø3.2 SHAFT etc.) Part no. 18973 (WINDSCREEN 4X6X1 1/3 W/STUDS) Part no. 87606 (COCKPIT 6X6X2 etc.) Part no. 27262 (COCKPIT 4X5X1, W/ 3.2 SHAFT, NO. 1) Part no. 62576 (WINDSCREEN 8x5x2 PC) Quote
