KimT Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 You have some fellow Benelux-whatever-countrymen that knows what I am talking about Arw nuts. The Benelux-whatever-team is coming this year? But they're always getting sour because they can't win a single contest and never have (or will) Quote
-JD- Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Parents permitting, I may attend! Atlast, you all are coming to the UK! Quote
Fugazi Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 This would be my chance to attend, Windsor is just a short fly away from Scotland! Of course it's really to early to make plans, with all that's happening at home and at work, but I will keep the dates in mind and do my best to free up time and money! It would be a great opportunity to meet some of you fine Eurobrickers, and visit Legoland Windsor for the first time (yeah I know, shame on me!). Quote
Teddy Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Great Britain is the Island, England is just one of the countries. I happen to live in Wales, which is addmitedly right next to England but is very different boyo. @ Teddy: Look Here I will go. I just need to find out how my university studies paid for by work fit into it. Yes you Islanders have the habit of over-complicating and dividing stuff that is already small enough on its own. Even China has a single name and football team. HAHAHA! This starts to remind me of one of the most funny threads in the history of EB. I do know very well that England itself does not make the island. My point still is that if you live as far away from Windsor as possible or as close as possible in Wales, it only differ 270 km (don´t ask how I came up with that please). Anyway, my point is not to start another topic about location, but that I would like if you made it. You kind of promissed @ Teddy: Ohhh... attacking someones country always make you go full Dfenz! But it sure is very fun. Something that always is an ongoing game between the Eventees. No need to grump, just give back. You have some fellow Benelux-whatever-countrymen that knows what I am talking about Are you coming by the way? Yeah I am not serious, NL is so tiny that when you blink driving from Germany to France you will miss it all together. Hopefully I can re-enforce the BENELUX-whatever team this year so we may win all competitions to add to our common glory. Quote

-JD- Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Oh shucks. This event is right when I should be busy revising for GCSEs! Looks like I won't be able to meet you all... *cries in corner* Quote
Izzy Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Oh shucks. This event is right when I should be busy revising for GCSEs! Looks like I won't be able to meet you all... *cries in corner* Awww come on! If you don't know your stuff by then... couldn't you make the effort to stop revising for just one day? Trust me! It will be worth it. Sadly, I do not see myself being able to make it again next year. Quote
Norro Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 They're just gcses... no bother at all! God Bless, Nathan Quote
SlyOwl Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 They're just gcses... no bother at all! Well said, sah! I'll be in the middle of my A2s - but not to worry! Lego always takes priority; currently I'm supposed to be doing personal statement etc, but I'm just flat-out preparing for STEAM. Quote

They're just gcses... no bother at all! I want to do well and live up to my full potential, so I think I will bother! If I get a good job later, I can get more LEGO! Well said, sah! If I said that to my parents I'd be grounded for life. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Wonderful news everyone! Due to not so epic fail, but still fail, I have to resit one module of my course. Thus i learn for but 2 hours a day on a Monday. So 2-5 is a-ok. Sadly course dates mean no Brick World unless I can finish with success and be allowed to escape early from the course. If anyone wants Welsh themed stuff, local beer or clone brands let me know and I can bring some! Quote

Holodoc Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Sounds like I'll be visiting the UK in June 2011. Can someone please give me more details on how this works I have never been to any afol brick conventions before. Do you have to reserve a spot ahead of time to display your mocs? Our event is quite different to all the other AFOL conventions: Normally it's all about MOCs, we like to spend our time visiting the Legoland parks, talking about our favourite hobby and having fun in general. You may of course bring your MOCs, but that isn't obligatory. Our activities may not all be Lego related (minigolf, jelly spitting, bowling...) but be sure to have a real great time with us! To find out more, I propose you browse the events subforum for the "reviews" about our last events. Some examples: 2010, 2009, another 2009. Then you will gather a nice impression what our events are all about. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to send me a PM. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Can we have a bowling competition again? Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 22, 2010 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 22, 2010 Can we have a bowling competition again? I prefer a karaoke competition this time! And I'm not joking Quote
Ras 74 Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 Will be hard to judge I am affraid. But sure, if we can find a PUB *looks around* or even better, I give you the task to find one close by Boney so we can go there and do karaoke. But I am with CGH here. Bowling rules! Quote
Holodoc Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I give you the task to find one close by Boney so we can go there and do karaoke. We can do a little Karaoke if we go by car together again. I'll stop by Boney's house and sing him to the ground. To be honest: I didn't find the best way to get to Windsor so far. Plane: at least 150€ per person (my son will most propably join me this time again) Train: At a first glance I wasn't able to get the information I wanted. Car: Maybe the best solution, because it's so much fun to travel together! Quote
Jipay Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 If I can make it, it'll be by car ! It was so great to spend some time with you guys at that service station in Germany. Quote
