The axe in the Black Smith set up looks like it has writing on the blade, am I seeing things?

My axe (halberd?) from the set 7947 has the following text on the blade: © LEGO 3848 7-02

Since 3848 is the official item number, I suppose it's the same printing on all of them now.

Thanks for the review. Right after I read this review we went to the local Lego store. They had them in.

So yes, I picked one up for my son. He is going crazy asking how much longer until Dec 1st.

I'm not an expert on Advent Calendars, in fact I've never bought any... But this one looks very impressive, the minifigs are just a great selection and the extras are quite nice too. If I ever find this in shops I might get it, but here in Finland I have only occasionally found A.C. on the shelf and always for a short time.

The shops in Finland usually have had LEGO Advent Calendars in stock from October to December. I've always found loads of them from big stores like Anttila and Citymarket.

I'm definitely getting this the first chance I get!

Thanks for the review! I am so happy that the advent calendars are available in the US this year. I open my advent calendars day by day, and not all at one time, so I must forget all of what I have seen ! The squire looks more like a prince to me, since he has the same torso as the king.

Thanks so much for the review!

I knew I wanted this one before I even knew that it was going to be sold in the US, but after seeing all the minifigs and extras, this is a MUST GET for sure! Off to my local Lego Store!!

That's unbelievable... where in the USA are you?

My LEGO store has no series 2 minifigs, no calendars, no winter bakery...

Aww the spares... I love this advent! I'm so happy TLG learned their lesson and relased it in the the US! :sweet:

I am a bit disappointed the squire's head seems to be from Seres 1 Spaceman. I was hoping the parts would exclusives.

Thanks for the tip! Those two are shop chains I actually seldom visit, I'll keep them in mind in case I don't find the A.C. in my habitual stores.

PS Not to divert the thread, but do you possibly have any idea if any Finnish shops have "Hard to finds" as in this page: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=245&d=100 ? (I know "Exclusives" are instead S@H or Lego Stores only) Maybe Idea Park or BR-Lelut chain?

Good eye!

Is this the first unique part from the collector's series to make its way into a set? I certainly hope that these things aren't too difficult to acquire as I would love to pick up 2-4 of them for the holidays. The fact that the set includes two peasants and two nobles is wonderful as the mainline is comprised almost entirely of soldiers.

I am in the Los Angeles area. I bought it at the Glendale Lego Store.

Funny thing is, I went there to sign him up for next months Lego Club meeting and to buy him a small set as a reward.

thanks a lot for the review! last year's calendar already was great, but this one seems even better! by the look of it, there's quite a few mini-sets in it, that i could use as interior for the new castle.

I've read the whole review carefully now, and one things i don't understand is your issue with the catapult. I mean, yeah, it's just a catapult anyway, and we've had so much catapults in the past that i've lost count of them, BUT actually the catapult should work fine, the new castle uses excactly the same catapult technique, and it shoots just like it is supposed to be. The round brick certainly is not just falling down, it is flying away about half a meter at least, even if i'm not pushing it hard. You must be doing something wrong. :P

They're available at Shop@Home as of about 9am this morning, with free shipping on orders over $75 so...buy two and you're set!

It's not the same, although there are similarities.

I hope this comes stateside, because i could use a blacksmith, and a Wizard. Plus i like how they have the lion's castle in the background.

It is already in the local US Lego stores. That is where I bought mine. :classic:

Got one the yesterday, and I think I I realized what or rather who our would be squire actually is.(or my take on his title) I think he is the owner and wearer of the vacated armor and plumed helmet. Yes, that's right, I think he's a knight. Almost everything we've built in the days, they seem to go with a mini fig... So, that's my entry into the guessing game of who that fig is.

Has anybody been able to find this in the US other than in Lego Stores. I've seen the City Advent Calendar in several Toys R Us, but haven't seen the Kingdoms one anywhere.
