pedro Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Hey everyone, For the past while now I've pretty much been inactive and some of you may been wondering where I've gotten to... Well, my lovely wife and I are expecting our first child! Due October 22nd, this will be our first child and has left us extremely busy, 'nesting', painting, re-decortaing and me applying my LEGO-esque instruction reading skills to building cot-beds, chaging units and other assorted furniture! We're both very excited and focused on getting things just right as we prepare for our new arrival. Added to this my work life has amped in complexity, as a change of scenery and new responsibilities has seen permanently busy during my work hours and it's pretty much been non-stop during my work-day for the these last few months. As such, all this has left my non-work online involvement and general LEGO-time at an extreme low. It means that I've not had a mote of time to enter any competitions and more importantly the Jedi Duel contest I've been running has been left on the sidelines which I'm trying to rectify a.s.a.p. (hope you guys understand). So I'm not disappearing permanently, but beyond getting Jedi Duel finished I'll pretty much be inactive here for a while as me wife and begin a new phase of our life. I'll still be watching the forums as Eurobricks is absolutely my first love on the 'net, and hopefully I'll find the time to be an active part of this wonderful community in the not too distant future. Love 'n' hugs to you all, you lovely people... pedro a.k.a. Peter Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Congratulations Pedro! Now, you are going to be a father! Just remember to drop by Eurobricks once in awhile to watch out for contests, reviews, mocs, etc. You can even ask some of the AFOL "Daddys" here for advice too. Quote
Svelte Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Congrats pedro! Exciting times for you and mrs pedro! I've seen a few AFOLs go through the baby-makin' shakes in the last few years but they always come back in the end Quote
ADHO15 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Many congratulations, pedro! I take it you don't know the sex of the baby yet? I hope it all goes really well for you and your wife. I'll try to find you a replacement in Clone Conflict if you wish. Quote

Peter Just wondering if you followed the instructions on all your furniture? or did you throw caution to the wind, and do a MOC with all those pieces? seriously congratulations, going to be a Duplo xmas this year then! RileyC Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Just wondering if you followed the instructions on all your furniture? or did you throw caution to the wind, and do a MOC with all those pieces? Congratulations Pedro! It sure must be exciting for you and your wife and I really hope it goes smoothly for the both of you. Lets just hope he/she inherits your love of Lego! Quote
Rick Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Congratulations! Hope to still see you around here. I find that MOC-ing is really difficult, but keeping up with EB is doable in between bottles and diapers. Quote
RoryoCox Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Congratulations Pedro, I am really happy for you and your wife . I am sure organising for a baby can be hard so you inactivity is normal. Remember to drop by when you have a spare moment Just wondering if you followed the instructions on all your furniture? or did you throw caution to the wind, and do a MOC with all those pieces? Quote
pedro Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 Thanks so much for the kind sentiments everyone. You can even ask some of the AFOL "Daddys" here for advice too. Haha! Does that make them and I DFOLs (Daddy Fan of LEGO)? I might very well need some advice... maybe we could have a new thread, a new parent AFOL Q&A... I've seen a few AFOLs go through the baby-makin' shakes in the last few years but they always come back in the end Aye, mrs pedro and I can't wait... we're happily enjoying blissful optimism before everything changes...! I'm sure I'll be back, maybe with a series of Star Wars related DUPLO MOCs... DUPLO Prince of Persia even...? I take it you don't know the sex of the baby yet? I hope it all goes really well for you and your wife. We want it to be a surprise so won't know the sex 'til the big day. Best find a replacement for CC for the time being. I'll hopefully have a chance to play in the future. Best of luck with it for the time being. Just wondering if you followed the instructions on all your furniture? or did you throw caution to the wind, and do a MOC with all those pieces? Ace! Actually, the cot has alternate instructions for a bed... how awesome is that? I have some spare parts left over from baby's wardrobe... I'm confident it'll it's sturdy. Maybe I can MOD it? Lets just hope he/she inherits your love of Lego! You can count on it! There isn't a room in our house that doesn't have LEGO in it. Well, maybe the bathroom... I find that MOC-ing is really difficult, but keeping up with EB is doable in between bottles and diapers. Future considerations include: do I let the lil' one play with my Death Star...? I am sure organising for a baby can be hard so you inactivity is normal. Remember to drop by when you have a spare moment Definately. Can't ever truly keep me away... Quote
