Noworries Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Hi Folks, i cant find the video anywhere now, but thats not the point. TLC launched a advertisement in germany (on the german channel "DMAX" - a channel dediciated for men). They advertise the "not available" 8043 (apart from the faulty model at amazon & co) and provide the domain www.legoformen.de - wich is not working properly... Apart from the "kids channels" LEGO does not advertise much in germany, and now they want to convince new AFOLs with not proper working technic models and not proper working homepages. Thats awkward! Your opinions? Quote
RoryoCox Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 The website works fine for me, I can see it with no bother. I agree that showing the excavator is a bit misleading but maybe the advertisement was made before the problem was reported . Quote
UdaQuai Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 The website works for me in IE, but not Firefox. Quote
prateek Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 The website works for me in IE, but not Firefox. It works for me on Firefox Quote
Superkalle Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 It's the first LEGO ad targeted at AFOLs that I've ever seen. But I wonder if this really is something endorsed by LEGO. The "LegoForMen" title is a bit silly. But if it is for real, is this the first AFOL targeted ad, or has there been others before? Quote
Rufus Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I remember back in 1999 seeing the great 8448 Supercar advertised quite late at night on a sports channel (I was watching in a pub!). It didn't explicitly say it was aimed at adults, but the nature of the advert (as I recall) seemed to be appealing to the mainstream audience themselves (rather than as a present for their children). It worked, too - it convinced me to buy it, thus spelling the beginning of the end of my Dark Age (Star Wars did the rest)! Quote

Though thats weird on a sports channel late at night in the pub Quote
cryoshell Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I'm german, maybe I can help. the site features a "decision maker" wich answers yes/no questions. example questions include: am i lucky this day? / should i date a girl today? / etc. it's obviously targeted at men. *confused* Quote
